Easter Goodies

Twenty-Five little bunnies! I made little bags with Easter Goodies in them. I then stamped this cute bunny (an old Darcie's Stamp) Colored with chalks (quickly too) then taped them to the top of the bags. These little guys are hopping over to the first grade class of my daughter for their Easter Party. Oh, I forgot, I cute each one out, the longest part of the project.
A close up view!

I put these little blank note cards together for a basket of stationery supplies for Heidi's secret pal at school. Will take a picture of the completed basket when I get it done.
I'm off to work today. Rick goes to the doctor. Hopefully, he's going to get the okay to remove the immobilizer and start therapy on his arm. Keep your fingers crossed for him, he is getting itchy after four weeks in the thing! Until later.................

Spring Chicks

Hello, and thanks for stopping by today. Megan came over today with her cousin and they molded candy. They probably made about three pounds and when they were done they had it all in the middle of the table and I gave them each a bag and they split it up to take home. They had a good time and we flavored it with raspberry, cherry, mint and orange. They did a good job. I should have grabbed my camera, but forgot. The card to day is a Penny Black card which I did for the Saturday Penny Black Challenge. The challenge was to create a Spring card. Well, I had the bright idea to make an actual spring card. The tutuorial is at split coast stampers in the resources. You make a few folds. The card folds for mailing and when taken out of the envelope springs back up, hence the name a spring card. For the spring theme challenge, I used Spring Chicks. The punches chicks are from a punch by Fiscars. Ribbon with the word Spring is glued across the bottom. I made a matching envelope in the background of the picture. Hope you had a relaxing Sunday. Temps going down overnight here, so will need a coat in the morning. Until later..........

DARLING LITTLE GIRL DRESSES

Hi, and thanks for stopping by today. Had some running around to do this morning, so Rick had Heidi pick him up so he could go to Michael's final Hockey game. Before the game started, they announced the MVP for the season for the team and it was Michael. Heidi said she had no idea. It's his first year, so he was thrilled. He was also picked for the All-Star game next Saturday, so guess I better go watch! Today I was playing with these little girl dress cards. I got the original template from Stampington online, then played with it and changed some things. The possibilities are endless, and they are so cute. Hope you had a great Saturday. It was beautiful weather here today, Fish are coming to the top of the pond now every day. Until later...........

Orange you Sweet

Hi, it's finally Friday. We are both going over to get the kids on the bus in the morning, then we are going to breakfast and do some running around. Today's card is a stamp set from Artful Inkables. It's my first time using these stamps which I purchased online. They are unmounted, but sold in sets with cushion. I bought four sets in all, so will be showing you the rest of them in the near future. Have a great Friday, and thanks for stopping by. Until later..............

LILY

Hi. Another long day at work today. Now I am off for the next 5, yeah. Thanks for stopping in for a look. I got the idea for this card in an article in Stamp and Scrap magazine. The owner of Magenta Stamps explained the technique. Use a fairly open stamp, I did balloons too and they turned out great. Stamp in white ink, on black cardstock. Using several shades of the same color pencil, color your image in starting with the lightest color and shading in with the other two.
After you have colored it in go over the white with a white pencil to make it stand out. Go on to the next area and do the same thing, until you have finished. Really simple and effective. Have a nice day tomorrow, supposed to have rain here. Hang in there Sheila, only three more weeks until April 15th!

BUNNY TRAIN

Hi, it's late, almost tomorrow! Worked a long day today. I made a couple of cards ahead last weekend so I would have a card to blog when I work. This card is a stamp by Whipper Snapper Designs, isn't it cute? Love the carrot caboose. Hope you had a great Tuesday. Will be back tomorrow night with a card with a technique I saw in a stamping magazine from Magenta. Until later.....

Signs of Spring

Hi, I'm off to work today. Probably a long one too, as tax season is in full swing. Hope you're having a great Tuesday. Today's card is from Inkadinkado. The layout of the card was the sketch challenge at Split Coast Stampers last week. Haven't seen a Robin yet, but one of the guys on our local news channel said he saw one Saturday. That will be a sure sign. Last year we had a pair of Robins that wanted to make a nest on our patio. Every time we took the beginnings of a nest down, later that day they would be at it again. They finally got the hint, but you had to feel sorry for them, they worked hard bringing stuff to make a nest out of and we kept taking it done, but they can get pretty nasty when they have eggs or babies, so we didn't want them on the patio. Thanks for stopping by. Until later.............

CUTE CHICK

Hello, and thanks for stopping by for a look. I ran out again today and got more "stuff". I went back to or local stamp store (yes, we only have one!) to see if she had the Martha Stewart bunny and chick border punches, but they had not come in. Very hard to find, and oh so cute. Was cold today, pond had ice again. But the sun came out this afternoon, so even though it's cold, the sun makes you feel better. A friend picked Rick up today and they went for a ride and out for lunch. Was a difference a little trip out can make.(for both of us!!) I did today's card for the Monday House Mouse challenge. The challenge was to made a shaped card. I bought a sponge shape of the chick and traced it onto cardstock. The stamp is of course House Mouse. I am off to work tomorrow for two days. Have a great Tuesday. Until later..............

Little Ballerina

Hi, thanks for stopping by today. Dreary morning, but now the sun has come out and it looks pretty nice outside. Today's card is a Penny Black stamp and I made the card for the PB Saturday Challenge. The Challenge was to use doodles on your card. I rarely make a card now that the image is stamped directly on the card, but I did it today! I used to make a lot of cards like that, but with all the embellishments available now, cards have gotten quite busy. It's a pretty simple card, but I like how it turned out. Oh, by the way, that beautiful young lady in the picture is my own personal ballerina (my Granddaughter Megan) and the girl loves to dance, on the tiles in the grocery store, while waiting for the school bus, just about any place. Hope your enjoying your Sunday. Until later.............

Moutain View

Hi, thanks for stopping by. Was a beautiful day here today, sun shinning, but still a bit cool. Temps are supposed to be on the rise this coming week. Just nice to feel the sun for a change. I made the rounds of the craft stores this morning, just for something to do, not that I needed anything, but I managed to find some things on sale. Today's card is a Stampscapes card. I used to do a lot of scenery stamping, especially stampscapes, but haven't done any in a long time. I visited the website, http://www.stampscapes.com/ yesterday and was inspired. I usually color the images in natural colors, but wanted to try a monotone. They make great guy cards. I should have taken a picture of the inside too, because it turned out nice (next time). I still have a couple of beautiful Thomas Kinkade stamps to color up too. Hope you had a great day today and were able to get out and about. Until later...............

CARDINAL

Hi, it's finally Friday. Yesterday when I went over to get the kids off to school in the morning, they were all decked out in summer clothes and and sandals for Tropical Thursday. They had a different theme everyday this week. Megan went down to the basement and came up with flower Laius for both of them to wear. What fun, we never did anything like that when we were kids! Can't wait to see what they are dressed like tomorrow. Today's card is a beautiful stamp by Northwoods of a Cardinal. Megan will probably end up with this one for her other Grandma, because she loves Cardinals. Hope you have a great Friday, thanks for stopping by. Until later.......

Minstrel

Hello. Worked a long day again on Tuesday, so was too tired to blog by the time I got home and ate, just wanted to shower and go to bed. I had to put stuff away in the stamp room this morning, because I had so much stuff out, I couldn't see the table again. I found some stamps I bought online awhile back that I forgot I had! Today's card is a Minstrel/Jester from Judith.
I knew when I bought it what I wanted to do with it. I had the paper and the ribbon that runs across the card under the panels. I have been using a lot of pink lately for no known reason. Hope you are having a good day. Thanks for stopping by. Until later.....

Angel

Hi, I'm off to work today and I worked a long day yesterday (12 1/2 hours) so I put together this card very quickly. You block off squares with post-it notes and use a sponge or stipple brush to color in the square, then stamp in the square. It's a pretty simple technique, but turns out nice. I stamped on glossy cardstock and colored the Angel with Tombow markers. Hope your having a great Wednesday and thanks for stopping by. I have to thank everyone for all the nice emails and comments wishing Rick well. He is doing amazing considering he is only two weeks out from the surgery. Half way to getting the immobilizer off his arm and starting therapy. Yeah. Until later................

IRISH LASS

Top of the Mornin' to you. Happy St. Patrick's Day. Everyone is Irish for the day today. This beautiful stamp is by Stampland. I colored her with colored pencils. Isn't she just adorable? Hope your Wearin' the green and have a great day! Until later.......

NEVER ENOUGH TIME

Welcome in. Busy day today. Helped Rick take his first shower since surgery. Can remove the contraption that keeps his arm immobile, but has to remember to keep the arm in the same postition while showering (not an easy task, as you want to use it). But, he felt so much better afterwards. Was such a nice day, we took the blog dog for a walk too. Today's card is for the house mouse monday challenge. It is an image of a gruffie bear overwhelmed by paperwork, a very common occurrence at work these days (a tax office!) and his lament that there is just never enough time!!!! Hope your day was good. Thanks for stopping by. Until later..........

Easter gift and card

Hi. Welcome. Glad you stopped by to have a look. I have had this idea in my head for awhile. We received this container with pretzels for Christmas and I saved it with the intension of reusing it. So today was the day. First, I cleaned and dusted, did laundry and went outside for a bit to skim the top of the pond, it is a mess! Anyway, it was late in the day by the time I got to come upstairs and play. I made a bag of microwave popcorn and drizzled melted Wilton Chocolate over it and let it harden. I then filled the container. It took most of the bag except for a few pieces which I promptly ate. I covered the original label with cardstock. The bunny is a stamp by Inkadinkado. I stamped him on the topnote piece and then colored with Tombow markers. I trimmed the cardstock with rickrack. The top of the container has a flower , which is a sizzix bigz die cut, Flower Layers #4. I have shown a close up of the flower on the top of the container. Tied a bow around the container and made a matching Easter card. Hope you had a relaxing Sunday. Until later..................

Birthday Cake

Hello. Thanks for stopping by. Was a nice day today, and the sun was out! Megan and I did some running around this morning while Rick went with Heidi and Brian to watch Mike play soccer and hockey. Have to get on the ball tomorrow and do some cleaning. Todays card was done for the Saturday Penny Black challenge. Cute little hedgehogs full of birthday cake. The challenge was the layout, a cute one. Papers are from a paper pack by DCWV called The Sweet Stack. Hope you had a great Saturday, rest and relax tomorrow. Until later...........

Lucky

Hello, thanks for stopping by for a peek. Michael came at supper time today and slept over, so that his Mom and Megan could attend a dinner for the American Girl Show, which is a fund raiser for our Women's and Children's hospital here in Buffalo. Megan modeled one of the dolls outfits last year, but has grown too tall to be a model, so she is one of the hostesses this year. They greet people, help the little ones on and off the stage and run the raffle winners prizes out to the audience. The dinner tonight is an appreciation dinner for their efforts to get pledges. Each girl's name is called and the amount that they collected is announced. She was very excited and when I was at their house this morning, she was getting her doll all dressed up to attend. He was equally excited to spend the evening with Rick and I while they went, so everyone was happy. Today's card is a small part of a larger image of a house mouse looking for that lucky four leaf clover. Hope you had a good Friday (the 13th!). Until later.....

Basket of Shamrocks

Hi, thanks for coming by today. Was surpised when I got up this morning to go over to get the kids on the bus to see snow on the ground. Just a sprinkling, but still snow, yuck. And it was cold. I feel much better, but still have a head cold and one ear is plugged up. Even the blog dog must be getting stick of winter (and she likes the cold) because she layed out on the sidewalk for about an hour today. Todays card is a cute basket of shamrocks by Endless Designs and the word stamp is a stamp by Anticipations. Hope you had a great Thursday. Until later..........

Wearing of the Green

Hi, Thanks for stopping by. Well, it's almost St. Patricks Day! Our office is down the street from an Irish Pub, and the place will be rocking Saturday Night. They serve green beer and corned beef as their specialty. The little leprecan stamp is from Limited Edition. The shamrock doily was from one of the dollar stores. Have a great Thursday. Until later............

Guy Card

Hi, another long day at work today, so will make this short. Made this card for the housemouse challenge, had to make a guy card with one of their stamps. I love the brads that look like screws, got them at the new hobby lobby. Gotta love those mice, even get the remote and turn the TV on. Hope you had a great Tuesday, have a wonderful Wednesday. Until later..........

Chirstening Day

Hello. Worked a long day today, so will make this post short. I made this card for my nephew's new baby, who was baptized yesterday. I tried to combine the religious and the playful boy together. Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by.

On another note. Back in January, Mary, who does not know me from Adam, gave me this award to post on my blog. Number one, I was surpirsed that Mary, probably the best color artist I have ever seen was looking at my blog in the first place, and second that "I" inspired her! Well, I was very excited, and grateful, but not techno savy enough to get the award over onto my blog, that is until tonight. I don't know why it worked tonight, but I finally did it. Mary, I can't thank you enough for this, it was a real ego builder, to say the least. I have added Mary's blog http://mycardz.wordpress.com/ to blogs that I enjoy on the left of my blog, go visit you won't be disappointed. Until later...

No Swimming

Hi. Still battling the cold. I think I was a little better today. Didn't do anything much today, except this card. I made this card for the Penny Black challenge. The challenge was to use three brads, two ribbons, one flower. Don't you just love the look on the faces of these two little frogs?
I didn't make the baptism today, thought it would be better not to infect an entire congregation!
Thanks for stopping by. Until later..................
