One More Candle

Hi. Today I was visited by my sister and her new grandson. What a treat. He is such a happy boy and we had so much fun with him. He is just4 months old, but oh so cute. Today's card is a simple card I made to include in a set of cards I made for the gals I used to work with. I made five packages of ten cards. Hope you had a great Thursday. Rick is moving into the next phase of his therapy and is now rebuilding muscle lost during two months of none use of his arm.
Everything is right on schedule. Thanks for stopping by. Until later..........

The Cat's Meow

Hi. Opps, I loaded this card backwards. The front of the card is the bird and the inside is the cat. So, I showed you the punchline first........da! Oh well, you get the idea. This is a two sided stamp that I bought at convention last year. I love what it says and I even added a little feather to the cats mouth. It makes you smile, because you know the cat has it in him! We live across the street from a field and we have a neighborhood cat that walks across the street, along the edge of the road and all of a sudden jumps about three feet in the air into the tall grass and jumps right back out and has a mouse in its mouth! Then he proceeds to march home down the sidewalk to show his family what he did! Spent most of the day in the stamp room yesterday because it rained, but today have to get back to some housework and outside stuff if it doesn't rain again. Hope your having a good Wednesday. Leave a comment if you can. Thanks for stopping by. Until later..........

Garden Glove

Hi, I'm posting a second time today to show you the full size version of the garden glove card.

I downloaded this template by Sara Sandberg, free at http://www.timeforcrafting.co.uk/gardening-glove.html You can print it at 100% or anything in between. I cut two of the template out of a 12x12 piece of cardstock.
I glued the thumbs together then folded them in. This allows for the card to open on the left.

I'm mailing both cards off to my stamping friend Cathy in Arizona tomorrow morning. Enjoy Cathy. Thanks for stopping by, leave a comment if you can. If you sign up to follow my blog, on the left-hand side of this page, (it only takes a minute) you will be notified every time I post.

Until later.............

House Mouse Get Well

Hello. A little cooler here today and some rain. Flowers are all starting to bloom now. I can see the day lilies grow overnight! Today's card is for the Monday House Mouse Challenge. It's a get well card. See the next post for a link for the template for the garden glove. The "bunny bee" is part of a stamp with two bunny bees on it. The mouse is a halloween mouse dressed as a butterfly! I forgot to take a pic of the inside, which says "May the time fly by and the days be few, until once more all's well with you" which is a stamp by My Sentiments Exactly. Hope your enjoying your Tuesday, thanks for stopping by, leave a comment if you can. Until later...........

MANY THANKS

Hello, hope your going to have some time to relax and unwind from the week today. It was such a nice day yesterday I went outside to tidy up the yard, but so windy that it was impossible to rake and keep it in one place, so I gave up. I fussed around the pond and added some water, then later this afternoon, it rained, so now it is really full. Fish are more active now and come to the side when anyone goes near the pond. As soon as the flowers bloom, I'll post some pics.
Today's card is for a thank you for a friend who bestowed a random act of kindness on us recently. The bunny toting roses is from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. I just want to warn you that if you fall in love with this guy, it takes about two months to get their stamps. They say they are growing by leaps and bounds and can't keep up with orders. Rick got home tonight, tired, but grateful for a change in scenery. Hope you have a great Sunday. Until later....

CUTE AS A BUG

And, the inside!
The inside!
Hello, hope you're Saturday is as gorgeous a day as we are having. Warm and sunny! Headed on out to the yard, but wanted to post first. Today's card is a cutie! The jar stamp is by Whipper Snapper, the bug is from Bugawumps. The flowers are cut from embosslets by Sizzix.
On the inside, the sentiment is by Bugawumps and the little catapillars are by Judith. The papers are from a paper pack I got at JoAnn's, called Citrus, with all bright lemon, lime and orange colors and different textures and glitter pages. Expecting Rick home from his little two day getaway. Sounds like they had a nice time. Gotta run. Thanks for stopping by. Until later.........

Bloom Where You're Planted

Hi, it's finally Friday! Not that that is an issue with me now, I already don't know what day it is sometimes and I've only been retired a week!!! I loved the flower pot idea so much, I got the idea to make three small ones and put them on the front of a card. This is probably a first for me, but there is no stamping on the outside of the card. The colors are not true, because it is hard to take pictures at night. But you get the idea. I'm going to use it for Mother's Day for a family member, because we go to brunch on Mother's Day. I used the sentiment "Bloom where you're planted" inside. Hope you have a great Friday. Thanks for taking a peek. Until later....

FLOWER POT CARD DIRECTIONS

I had several people email me regarding the flower pot card. I got the idea from SCS . It was the Technique Lovers Challenge a couple of weeks ago. This is the link to the gal that gave
the instructions http://sluman.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2009/01/25/flower-pot-pocket-card/ . It is a great card and there are alot of variations of it in the gallery on SCS, go see.

AT YOUR SERVICE

Hi. Cold and windy here today. Supposed to get warm over the weekend though. I ran around and did some shopping for upcoming shower and birthday gifts. Lots of new babies and weddings this year. Tomorrow I'm going to scout the craft stores with my coupons. Today's card is a stamp from Stampin' Up. The inside says "Have your cupcake and eat it too". The designer papers are from a paper stack called Nana's Kitchen. That's what my grand kids call me! Rick rode with a friend for a two day outing to get away for a bit. He called tonight and said they arrived and he tolerated the trip in the car well. So, I am stamping a playing and NOT cooking! I'm glad he had a chance to get away, will be good for both of us, we have been shut in together too much! The blog dog misses him though, so she bugs me a lot! Thanks for stopping by, Hope you have a great Friday. Until later...............

Spring Flower Pot

Hi, it's hump day! Thanks for stopping by. Today's card is a flower pot pocket card that I got the directions for on Split Coast Stampers. Had so much fun putting it together. The flowers are die cut from the sizzix. The pink flowers are embosslets. They cut and emboss at the same time and are also by sizzix. The gruffies image is from House Mouse Designs and I made the card for the Monday House Mouse Challenge. The insert with the flowers slips into the pot. How cute is that!!!! Very easy to make too. Rick is doing well at therapy and with the exercises at home. He sees the Doctor next week, so anxious to see what he says. Apparently, he still has a long way to go for strength and healing in the shoulder, but making great progress. We are grateful for small steps in this long road. Until later..............

FOREST CHAPEL

Good afternoon. Had to do some laundry and cleaning up some this morning. Today's card is by Cornish Heritage Farms, and is, of course, a Thomas Kinkade. I have had this stamp for awhile, and hadn't inked it up. I never put a stamp away until I use it, so it has been sitting out, waiting for today! It is a beautiful scene of a tiny chapel in a valley. I stamped with dye ink on white Glossy cardstock. I colored with Tombow and Copic Markers. The card is made with designer paper by My Minds Eye, Bloom and Grow. The Swirls are from Sizzix. The flowers are from a stem I bought at AC Moore for $ 1.00 and pulled from the stem. Hope your having a great Tuesday. Leave me a comment if you have a minute. Thanks for looking. Until later.

A NEW PUPPY

FROM THIS:
TO THIS:
Hello! Thanks for stopping by today. I made this little paint can dog treat container for the challenge at Simon Says Stamps. The challenge was to use recycled things. The stamp is a Magnolia, Tilda with Puppy Stamp. The designer papers, Kazoo Kids, by K & Company, and
the Vellum words by Daisy Hill. I filled the container with small dog bones, which was very interesting to the Blog Dog! It's raining here today, so I couldn't finish up the yard, and supposed to rain most of the week on and off. Have a good Monday. Until later..........

Piece of Quiet

Hi. Today's card is for the Penny Black Challenge. The challenge was the sketch. I love this stamp and think it would be a great Mom's Day card for the Mom of alittle boy. The designer papers are by Nana's Kids, and I ran the red cardstock through a cuddlebug folder that looks like wood grain. The sentiment was attached to the stamp, so it is a little left of the sketch.
Beautiful day today. Got some raking done and cleaned up around the pond, lookin good! They are forcasting rain for the next few days, so no excuse not to get the stamp room cleaned up and the Easter put away. Until later............

LOOK AT THIS BEAUTIFUL GUY!

Yesterday morning I put some old bread out for the birds and look who showed up! Is he gorgeous or what!

Warm and Cozy

Good Morning! Thanks for stopping by for a look. Today's card is for the Monday House Mouse Challenge. I am really late this week, since I retired on Tuesday, the week just got away from me. The challenge was to use more than one image on a card. I love that the bunny and the mice are combined in the main stamp, and then I added the smaller image of the mouse in the cup of tea. Don't they all look so comfy, tea does that. Went to Hobby Lobby yesterday. Added a couple of copic markers to my collection along with a pad of paper which I used on the card above. The papers in the pad are all embossed and pretty pastel colors for Spring. That store has so much stuff to look at it can be overwhelming. Then, we went out of dinner with my sister and brother-in-law to celebrate her birthday. I am off to a wedding shower this afternoon, so until later..................

FOR MY SISTER

Hello, and thanks for stopping by. Today is my older sister's birthday. She would kill me if I blogged how old she is, so I just want to say Happy Birthday Edith, and many more happy healthy birthdays. Today's card is a stamp by Penny Black. The words are a new clear stamp set from Kitchen Sink Stamps, called whole family. Lots of words to put together for family members and occasions ( a whole sheet) and all in the same font! I am NOT a big fan of clear stamps, but I love how versitile this set is and how personal the card becomes. We are going to take a ride to Hobby Lobby today. My kids will be home from Washington, D.C. tonight sometime, will be good to see them and hear all about their week on vacation. Have a great Friday. To the gals from work, hope you're enjoying your days off after a long tax season! Well deserved! Until later.....

New Babies

Hi, Hope you had a great Thursday. It was a beautiful day here today. Warm and sunshine all day. Tomorrow is supposed to be even better, 66 degrees for the high. Hope to get out and rake tomorrow. Now that I am fully retired and have time, I somehow could not get going in the stamp room today. It is a mess and needs straightening, but I have a slew of new stuff I haven't touched and I just can't get interested, and I have found that when that happens, the best thing to do is turn the light off, shut the door and go back later. I started this card yesterday and had every color card and background paper until I finally settled on this. The beautiful stamp is by Beeswax. The card is chocolate brown. I followed the sketch at SCS this week. Tomorrow is my sister's birthday, so tomorrows card will be her birthday card. Until later.............

TIME TO CLEAN UP

Hi, Look who else just finished up in the bird feeder. They cleaned it out, clean as a whistle!

There were five in all and they look at you like, "do you have anything else?" The dog alerts us that they are here, but they just look at the dog in the window barking her head off and then go about their business.

Today's card is a new stamp by Great Impressions. The sentiment is by Stampendous. Time to get those yard boots on and get out in the yard and start cleaning up. Hoping Thursday there will be some sun. Can't wait to get the pump back into the pond and start the waterfall back up.

Fish have come to the surface and are swimming around like crazy. I counted all of them the other day, including two really small ones that were born late in the summer. Always amazes me that they can survive the ice and cold all those months.

I am off at noon to celebrate my last April 15th with the girls at work, today is my last day. More time to stamp, Yahoo. Until later................

THE GIFT

Showing the stamps I used on the five sides of the "Virginia Box" that I made to hold my gift.

This is the front of the box. Isn't she just so adorable. I stamped the Penny Black images on each of the five sides of the box. I colored them, added flowers and grass. Added some clouds and some speckles with a blue blow pen. Assembled the box, added the bow and flowers and inserted the gift.

These pastel candy corn were added to the box for a small Easter gift for a neighbor. Happy Easter everyone. Hope you are able to be with those you love tomorrow. Until later.....
