BSS-MONDAY IDEA - ONE PIECE OF CARDSTOCK BASKET

Good Monday Morning.  Today's Buffalo Stamps and Stuff idea is a basket, made from one piece of 12x12 card stock and a coordinating piece of card stock for the handle. You can click on any of the pictures to enlarge them.

        Finished basket filled with goodies

To make the basic basket you will need:

1 piece of 12x12  inch card stock
1 piece of 12 x 2 1/2 inch card stock for handle
2 brads
Red Line Tape

Score card stock at 4 and 8 inches
Turn the card stock and score again at 4 and 8 inches
You will now have nine - 4 inch squares

Fold and bone fold all the score lines
Flatten card stock and cut the inside score line on each end piece on two sides, as shown below

Fold up ends evenly leaving an even small triangle at the top and a larger one at the bottom.  Using red line tape, adhere the ends in place.

Now for the fun of decorating the basket.  Decorate the handle however you desire.  You can use just a coordinating piece of card stock or you can use a border punch to create a fancy edge.  Using red line tape, adhere the handle to the inside on both sides.  Insert a decorative brad on either side just below the small triangle. Finish decorating the basket and fill.  This little basket holds quite a bit of stuff.  The one pictured has two bags of chocolate covered popcorn, candy corn, white chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered pretzel rods and loose caramels.

I made this basket with papers from S.E.I.  On the side panels, I punched scalloped circles and ran them through a cuddlebug embossing folder.  The leaves are a cuddlebug die cut and matching embossing folder.  I cut them out using fall colored card stock then distressed the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink.  I sprayed them and the stamped image on the handle with perfect pearls, sunflower sparkle which I mixed with water in a mini mister (LOVE this stuff, look at how the leaves shine!)  The stamped image on the handle is from Heartfelt Creations, Swirly Autumn leaves, as well as the sentiment which I stamped on Kraft paper.  The brads are from making memories.

This is an easy project, with really nice results.  You can make the basket smaller by using a 9 or 6 inch square and scoring at 3, and 6 or 2 and 4 respectively.

I'm also entering this in the challenge at Sweet Stamping #49 - Anything but a card

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Monday.  Until later.................
