HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Happy Halloween!  When our daughter was a Senior in High School, we hosted an exchange student from Portugal.  We were astounded to find out that they didn't celebrate Halloween.  Then when we went to some gatherings with students from all over the world, we were again surprised to find out that none of them celebrated Halloween!!  Well, she dressed as a smurf (remember them?) and went trick or treating door to door and carved pumpkins and roasted seeds, and wrote home about all the goings on.  She had three younger brothers, and vowed to carve pumpkins on Halloween with them when she returned home.  So to those few of us (US and Canada?) who celebrate the dressing up, giving of candy treats, and all the ghoulish decorations on lawns this time of year, Happy Halloween.  The picture above are my grand kids.  They dressed this morning for a party at church.  She is Iron Woman and he is...........scary!!!

The card today is my last Halloween card for this year, even though I have stamps and digi images I didn't get to use.  The papers and the transparent items are from K & Company.  The witch is cut from the same designer paper stack.  The cupcakes are a stamp from Impression Obsession and colored with Copics.  The sentiment is a stamp from Inkadinkado.

Hope your Halloween was spook-tacular!  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later...............

Night Night

Can't believe it's Thursday already.  I'm thrown off now because I always get a dozen donuts on Thursday, hence, Donut Thursday, and take them over to my daughters house for Michael and Megan before getting them on the bus.  Well, first she went to Middle School and leaves earlier, so I don't see her, and now Michael has made the All City Band and they practice every Thursday morning, so Heidi is taking him and I don't need to go on Thursdays any more.  So now it has to be Donut Friday, that was the first question he had for me when he told me I didn't need to come on Thursdays any more!!

Today's card is for the challenge at Phindy's Place #28, which this week is to use your favorite color.  My favorite color is blue, but red is a close second, so I used them both!  This image is called Night Night Santa.  Is he too cute!  The papers are from an old Chirstmas stack.  The ovals are a Nellie Smellen die cut.  The Dear Santa and the embossing folder used on the blue oval behind the image is a Sizzix set.  The inside sentiment is from the now defunct Stampa Rosa.  I colored with Copic Markers.

Hope you had a great day.  Thanks for the visit.  Until later.................

Peek-a-boo Pumpkin

Hello, I'm late posting today.  I went to meet the girls that I worked with for lunch today.  Was nice to see everyone and catch up with their goings on.  I am going to return to work in January, just for tax season, two days a week.

Today's card is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC77).  The background paper is by K & Company.  The green pumpkins strips are from Graphic 45.  The other strips are run through the pumpkin cuddlebug embossing folder.  Leaves are from my stash, pulled from a silk arrangement.  This beautiful stamp is from Impression Obsession and is colored with Copic Markers.  Sure puts a smile on your face when you look at this silly Jack-O-Lantern peeking out of the basket!!  I'm also entering this in the Halloween Challenge at Crazy4Challenges (C4C60).

Hope your Wednesday was a good one.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later..........

I have some Halloween stamps to use before the big day, so likely you will be seeing a lot of Halloween before the end of the week!!  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later...............

BSS-MONDAY IDEA - ONE PIECE OF CARDSTOCK BASKET

Good Monday Morning.  Today's Buffalo Stamps and Stuff idea is a basket, made from one piece of 12x12 card stock and a coordinating piece of card stock for the handle. You can click on any of the pictures to enlarge them.

        Finished basket filled with goodies

To make the basic basket you will need:

1 piece of 12x12  inch card stock
1 piece of 12 x 2 1/2 inch card stock for handle
2 brads
Red Line Tape

Score card stock at 4 and 8 inches
Turn the card stock and score again at 4 and 8 inches
You will now have nine - 4 inch squares

Fold and bone fold all the score lines
Flatten card stock and cut the inside score line on each end piece on two sides, as shown below

Fold up ends evenly leaving an even small triangle at the top and a larger one at the bottom.  Using red line tape, adhere the ends in place.

Now for the fun of decorating the basket.  Decorate the handle however you desire.  You can use just a coordinating piece of card stock or you can use a border punch to create a fancy edge.  Using red line tape, adhere the handle to the inside on both sides.  Insert a decorative brad on either side just below the small triangle. Finish decorating the basket and fill.  This little basket holds quite a bit of stuff.  The one pictured has two bags of chocolate covered popcorn, candy corn, white chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered pretzel rods and loose caramels.

I made this basket with papers from S.E.I.  On the side panels, I punched scalloped circles and ran them through a cuddlebug embossing folder.  The leaves are a cuddlebug die cut and matching embossing folder.  I cut them out using fall colored card stock then distressed the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink.  I sprayed them and the stamped image on the handle with perfect pearls, sunflower sparkle which I mixed with water in a mini mister (LOVE this stuff, look at how the leaves shine!)  The stamped image on the handle is from Heartfelt Creations, Swirly Autumn leaves, as well as the sentiment which I stamped on Kraft paper.  The brads are from making memories.

This is an easy project, with really nice results.  You can make the basket smaller by using a 9 or 6 inch square and scoring at 3, and 6 or 2 and 4 respectively.

I'm also entering this in the challenge at Sweet Stamping #49 - Anything but a card

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Monday.  Until later.................

The Witching Hour

Hello and happy Friday!  Know everyone is looking forward to the weekend!

I purchased this stamp at a stamp show right here in our hometown from Just for Fun Stamps.  She came in two sizes, but I had to have the BIG one!  I stamped her with Versamark Onyx black and embossed her.  Papers are from DCWV La Creme stack.  The sentiment stamp is from the dollar bin at Michaels, punched shape is from Stampin Up.  I distressed the Kraft card stock with my new Distrezz-It-All from Zutter, a birthday gift from my daughter.........I LOVE IT! and added Star Dust Stickles to the edges.  I punches a large circle and using the distressing tool and Black Soot distressing ink, I lightly sponged ink around the circle to form the moon.

Have a great rest of the day.  Enjoy the weekend.  As always, I appreciate that you stopped by.
Until later...........

CHRISTMAS CUPCAKE

Happy Hump Day!  Lazy day today.  I finished the goodie bags for my daughters first grade class for their Halloween party, and I made another 20 ghost suckers for her teaching partner's first grade class.  I have a few other things to put together for little friends for Halloween, but almost done.

Today, I made a tag for the challenge at Paper Cupcakes.  I used the Christmas cupcake image.  I colored with Copics, then used a snow writer for the white frosting and Papier clear for the red portion of the frosting and sprinkled both with glitter while wet.  Also used the Papier on the candy to make it shiny and raised.
Mounted it on a lace doily. Background paper is K & Company, and tag is from the dollar bin at Michael's.

I'm also entering this tag at the challenge at Allsorts (#74) which is to make something using their bingo grid to chose the ingredients you will use on your entry.  I chose Lace, Flowers, and tags.

Hope your Wednesday was wonderful.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Until later.......

SKATING IN THE PARK

My niece came over today and we played with our Cricut machines and cartridges.  She got hers a while back and hadn't had a chance to use it yet, so today was the day.  We had a great day, it was fun to spend time with her, it's been a long time.  While she was here, she cut the blog dog, Keeley's nails and she is also glad Lisa came today!!

Today's card is for the challenge at Phindy's Place (#27).  The Challenge this week was to make a card using Fancy Folds.  I made a stair-step card.  I love this image of the little girl ice skating.  Such a sweet look on her face.  The tree, deer, and words were cut on the Cricut from several cartridges.  The snowflakes and fence are from Sizzix dies.  The large snowflake is a chipboard piece from K & Company.  The bunnies are a punch.  Used lots of stickles.  The cardinals are buttons with the shank cut off.

Hope you had a great day.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later...............

BSS - MONDAY IDEA - HALLOWEEN TREATS

SUCKER GHOSTS

COFFIN TREAT BOX

Good Monday Morning.  Time for this week's Buffalo Stamps and Stuff  Idea.  Since Halloween is just around the corner, I was looking for some cute treat ideas for the little ones in our family.  For the sucker ghosts, I cute 6 inch squares from white tissue paper.  I had an old Printworks stamp set with different faces and stamped the face just below center with the square in the diamond position.  Then, just wrap the tissue around the sucker and tie it with a ribbon. You can just use a black marker and make ovals for the eyes and mouth.  So cute!  I'm making these for my daughter's first grade class for their Halloween party!

Next is the coffin box.  This template is free on Martha Stewart's website.  It went together pretty easily and is only two pieces.  I filled the box with assorted colors of candy corn and a Halloween Pez.  The bat stamp is from Inkadinkado.  Thanks Jodie for sharing the website for this awesome box.

Thanks for stopping in today.  Have a great start to the week. Until later............

FOUR FABULOUS FRIENDS

Hi, it's the beginning of the weekend.....Yay!

I made this card for the challenge at Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC75).

I purchased this stamp by Art Impressions called girlfriends.  It reminded me of three of my friends from high school, whom I still get together with (not in a hot tub though) (and not topless) for lunch and to just catch up with what's going on in all our lives.

The base card is from the glitter stack by DCWV.  The DP is from Paisley Road.  I wrapped the main image with string pearls from Michael's.  The silver thread and the star charm are from my stash.  I cut the hot tub image out and popped it up so they looked like they were in it more.  Large pearls from my stash.

Hope you have a great Saturday.  Rick is going to venture out with our daughter in the morning to take in Hockey practice for our 10 year old grandson.  His first outing since the shoulder surgery other than the doctors or therapy offices!  Exciting!  He has cabin fever.

Thanks for stopping by.  Until later.....................
