BSS MONDAY IDEA - Faux Pocket Card

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.
Today's idea is a Faux Pocket Card.
I found this idea on Nichole Heady's blog and she did a video on how
to put the faux pocket together.
I used this cute stamp by Northwoods Rubber Stamps.

The base card is 5x12, top folded. Paper is Graphic 45
The Faux Pocket is red card stock that I ran through
a Cuttlebug diagonal striped embossing folder. Scalloped border is EK Success.
Stamp by Northwoods Rubber Stamps (m8777). Colored with Copic Markers.
I cut a piece of acetate for the jar part to resemble glass.
The Candy Canes are embellishments by Petaloo, called Holiday Dazzlers.

I made the tag from white card stock and traced it from a purchased tag.
Covered the top portion of the tag with candy striped paper. Sentiment is by Stampendous, called Merriest Wish(CRM276). Yellow satin ribbon, jingle bells and another candy cane embellishment finishes it off.
Hope you have a chance to try the Faux Pocket card.
You could even put a gift card on the tag for holiday gift giving.
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great Monday.  Until later................

HEIDI'S BIRTHDAY

Hello, friends.  Hope everyone who celebrated Thanksgiving here in the US had a wonderful holiday with their families.

Did everyone get up early today and head out for Black Friday?  I passed on going out with my daughter, did go through the ads after dinner yesterday. Guess what I found??  I have been watching the new paper trimmer by Fiskars, "the Procision" priced at a hefty $ 120.00.  The drawing card for me is, the blade is self sharpening and never needs to be replaced.  Those little blades on the cutter I have now have increased in price so much lately.  Anyways, Joann's had all Fiskars paper trimmers at 60% off for three days starting today.  I got up at 5 a.m. and was at my Joann store at 6 am when the doors opened.  I knew right where they were located and picked one up ($ 47.99 plus tax) and was back home by 6:30 am!  Hubby is going to give it to me for Christmas, so something to look forward to.  Can NOT believe it was $72 off!!! YAHOO.........

Today's card is the card I made for my beautiful daughter, Heidi,  who will celebrate her birthday on Sunday.  Her Dad's birthday is on Monday.  It's so unusual that one of their birthdays didn't land on Thanksgiving, because that is usually the case.

Heidi has always loved her birthday. And Mary Englebreit.
So I made this card which is an old All Night Media stamp by Mary Englebreit.

Pretty Simple card.  The Spellbinder's dies formed the card.
Image is colored with Copic Markers.
Daughter stamp is a word set by Kitchen Sink
Yellow satin ribbon.

Enjoy your weekend.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later..............

We are so very excited for Paula  and her family.
So........
This challenge, chosen by our fabulous teamie,  Sue Kment,

Awww, sweet Happy Hopper baby.

I used a onsie pattern I have had forever.
This sweet little happy hopper baby was used on the front of the onsie.
I used a spellbinders die for the collar shape and the little bunnies
are a small punch.  A Martha Stewart border punch and some rick rack
were used on the front.  The onsie was run through the swiss dot embossing folder.
I used a small whole punch to punch circles to add to the arm and leg opendings.
Small white buttons were used on the bottom.  Colored with Copics.

This is the inside of the card.  Another little Happy Hopper..shhh almost asleep.
Mailed this card off to Paula and her family.  Hope she has received it in the UK

BSS MONDAY IDEA - POST CARD CHRISTMAS

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.
Today's idea uses a beautiful stamp by Stampendous, called
Snow Postcard (143).
This beautiful stamp can be stamped in black or Sepia for a vintage look, or
using the Tim Holtz ink tool with the sponge applicator, dye ink can be applied to create a beautiful holiday card. Because the effects are so dramatic and the stamp is so beautiful, you can make a wonderful card with just papers and the stamped image, that can be mailed with standard postage.
For this first card, I used a white card stock base card 5x7 inches
Ran it through the Spellbinders M-Bossabilities (EL-014) Folder.
The script paper is Bazzill Basics Black 6x6 Stack.
I stamped the post card stamp in black dye ink, then sponged just the
edges and a little in on each corner with Black dye ink.
Mounted on gold paper then black card stock.
Punched snowflakes with the same gold paper.
(The gold paper is actually paper I bought at a candy making store
and is thin and silver on the other side. It's used for wrapping homemade
chocolates in, but you can use any gold or silver paper.
This makes such a beautiful statement and with a pretty sentiment
inside, a wonderful Chirstmas card anyone would love to receive.
Another white 5x7 inch card base. Bo Bunny paper is cut in
triangles to fit the corners. Ran a white glitter paper mat through a Cuddlebug
snowflake embossing folder and corners are punched with a ticket corner punch.
Stamped the image in dye ink black on white glossy card stock.
Again, using the Tim Holtz sponge applicator, I chose three blue dye ink colors.
A really light blue, a Medium blue, and a dark blue. Starting with the
lightest blue, sponge from the outside edge inward, leaving the center white.
Move to the medium blue ink and sponge from the outside in (use a circular
motion so you don't get a definite straight line). Don't go in as far as you did with
the lightest color. Moving on to the third and final dark ink, sponge just the edges and corners.
The large silver snowflake is from the Mitten die set by Impression Obsession,
I colored the oval strip in with a black Copic Marker.

This is a gold glitter base card 41/4 x 51/2 inches. The stamp was stamped in black dye ink
on white glossy paper. Used three green dye inks, a light, medium and dark green ink.
Same as above directions for the blue. I colored in the holly on the border. The
finished image was matted on red mirror paper then adhered to the card.
Sharon has a class using this beautiful stamp done four different ways.
You can use this ink method on any stamp that has a scene for this dramatic look.
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great Monday.  Until later...........

BSS MONDAY IDEA - THE MITTEN

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.
Today we are going to take a look at a mitten die from Impression Obsession.
So many ways to use this really cute set.
The set includes three dies, the mitten, the beautiful snowflake and the bow.

The first thing I did with it was make a simple holiday card.
Die cut the image using water color paper with some texture. Used
Spun Sugar distress ink around the entire mitten. At the cuff, I layed
a post-it note across where I wanted the cuff to end and inked the cuff with the same ink.
I then scored lines on the cuff section.
The background paper is Basic Gray, Eskimo Kisses. Corners are a Paper Shapers punch.
The deer is a holiday punch by Ek Success. I dotted around the deer with a Sharpie Poster Paint
White Marker. Tied a thin pink ribbon around the base of the cuff.

This is the inside of the card. Stamped sentiment is Penny Black (3517F).
Deer punch is Martha Stewart.
Secondly, used the mitten to make a money holder.
Papers My Minds Eye Glittered. Cut a piece of green card stock
for the cuff and ran it through a Cuddlebug embossing folder (small hearts)
Added the die of the bow also run through the embossing folder.
Heart is a Marvey punch. Snowflake is also a punch.
Button and string bow added to cuff.

To make a money holder, I cut a second mitten in white card stock.
Ran 1/8 inch score tape around the entire mitten except the top and adhered
the two pieces together. I cut a piece of white card stock to fit into
the mitten and long enough to fold up to create a pocket to hold the money.
The stamped image is Jillian Clear Stamps. I used a circle punch (fold the circle in half and glue) to make a tab to pull out the money and greeting piece.
#3 is a Gift Tag. The tag was made from papers from the Tim Holtz seasonal Stack, including Christmas Greetings tag. The mitten was cut from papers from the Authentique 6x6 Stack.
Cut red card stock and scored it to create the cuff. Bow was run through an embossing folder for texture. Inked around the mitten with Frayed Burlap distress ink. Added a thin fabric bow and two small bells.
This is the back of the gift tag.
And finally, Created this fun, shaped card. Just cut the mitten from
designer card stock or colored card stock (here I used Bo Bunny paper)
Added a white fur strip across the top and cut snowflake from white glittered paper.
Inside of mitten card. Sentiment is by Northwoods .
This is such a fun die set. I'm sure you could think of many
other ways to use it too.
Have a great Week.
Thanks for stopping by.

SWEET CHRISTMAS

Hi Friends.  Hope your Wednesday went well.  We did some major grocery shopping today. We both hate it, so we only go about once a month, picking up milk, fruit and fresh vegetables in between.

Puppy is recovering from being Spayed on Monday morning.  She actually is really active and you wouldn't even know she had surgery, except for the cone she is wearing on her neck so she cant pick at the stitches before she is healed.  Ten days is a long time to wear this thing and she hates it.

Could this face be any sadder.  She is much better today (day 3) and a lot more active.
But she is running into everything like a bull in a china shop.  Three days down, 7 to go!

Today's card is for the challenge at Penny Black and Friends Saturday Challenge.
It's their November challenge and the theme is "Cute Christmas"

I chose this Cling Stamp by Penny Black

Christmas papers from my Stash from last year.
Die for card shape and mat is a spellbinders die
Ribbon from Michael's
Felt snowflakes
Colored with Copics

Hope you have a great Thursday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later........

BSS MONDAY IDEA - Zipper like pull tab die

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.
Today, we are going to take a look at the new Jillian {die}signs, by Spellbinders, that is a Pull Tab, zipper like die that allows you to place words, or even a gift, like a gift card or money
behind the zipper like opening, so that when the receiver pulls open the tab, the message or gift is exposed. If you went to the latest Stamp Camp, you made a card using this fantastic die and
you already know how wonderful it is, but for those of you who didn't, let's take a look!

OK, there were absolutely no instructions with the die, so here is what I did.
Ran the die through my cutting machine where I wanted it on the front of my card.

I then adhered at the edges only to another piece of
card stock. I would then adhere this to a card blank and decorate.
For this illustration, I have stamped a message inside.

Here it has money enclosed.

And finally, a gift card is enclosed.
This card is 5x7 and the die fits across, or you could use
the zipper like die going the long way on the card also.
Paper is My Mind's Eye, The Merry Days of Christmas from last year.
The words, a gift for you, are from a stamp set by Jillian Vance Designs also,
Money, Money (2012-013)

This card is smaller, 41/4x51/2.
I placed the die on the paper where I wanted it, with some of the
die going over the edge.
Snowflake die is Memory Box
Rhinestone centers.
This die will come in handy for birthdays, and any occasion when you
want to give a little lift with a sentiment, or a small gift.
Thanks for stopping by today.
Have a great Monday.
