It's a Girl

Hi friends.  We hit 90 degrees on Thursday, Ugh and going to be high 80's today.
Already too warm for me!  Glad we got our yard word done and flowers in last week.
We had so much rain on Tuesday night that the pond could not hold one more drop of water, up over the edge and in the rocks that line the edge.

Today's card is for a challenge that my blogging buddy and fellow teammate Christine Craig has going on her blog to celebrate the birth of her new Granddaughter, Mia Lottie, who arrived four weeks early, but is home and doing just fine.  Christine wants us to make a pink card to celebrate the beginning of this new little life.

This stamped image is by Too Much Fun and is one of their Pull Up
Designs.  As if this darling little bassinet with the teddy isn't cute enough,
the top pulls up to reveal the baby and a place for a sentiment.

Here is the insert removed from the bottom.  You can also use
the pocket to insert a gift card.
Card is made from a Spellbinder's Grand die.  Border is K & Co.
Flowers are Prima, ribbon from my stash.
I stickled the flowers, but it doesn't show in the photo.

The inside sentiment and another border from the package from
K & Co.

Oops, I forgot to mention that Christine has some great prizes for this challenge also.

Congratulations again, Christine, she is beautiful.  Such a blessing.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Friday and enjoy the weekend.
Until later............

BSS MONDAY IDEA - Die Cut Card

Today's idea is to make a card using die cuts in a unique way.
This is a memory box die, Lovely Peony Outline (98482)

This is a beautiful butterfly die by Memory Box, Vivienne Butterfly (98265)

The finished card.
Found this idea online by Dina Kowal and she has done
a great tutorial
This stained glass effect is achieved by cutting out the die on the panel you will use on your card front, then placing acetate (I used velum) over the top of the dies and coloring it up. Then you replace the panel over the colored sheet and glue the cut outs back. I love this look. I used Copic Markers on the to color. Pearls are
Melissa Frances. I ran the panel through a Cuttlebug embossing folder before
gluing the velum in place and returning the dies back into place. Simple but elegant card.
Hope you have a chance to try this technique.
Enjoy your holiday. Please remember all those that have served, the men and women that are presently serving and those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.

Thanks for stopping by today. Until later..............

BSS MONDAY IDEA - IT"S QUILTED

WELCOME TO THE MONDAY
BUFFALO STAMPS AND STUFF IDEA.
Today's idea is quilting on your card.
I have seen a lot of different quilting designs on cards lately.
This is a pretty simple one I found on Pinterest.
Cut a piece of 4x4 inch card stock. Now chose 4 strips of 1 inch wide
card stock in patterns or colors that coordinate. You need four.
four inch squares from each strip. You now have 16, 1 inch squares.
I ran the squares through various Cuddlebug and Darice embossing folders.
Figure out how you want them to look on your "quilt".
Now start gluing them on the 4 inch square piece of card stock.
I did the four corners first, then the outer edge and finally the four squares in the middle.

Here is a close up of the embossed squares.
After the quilt was finished, I mounted it on a 4 1/4 inch piece of
ivory card stock. I ran a piece of green card stock 41/2 inches square through an embossing folder. I mounted the quilt which has been adhered to the ivory card stock to the green embossed square and adhered that to a 5x5 inch card.
Sentiment is by Inky Antics(D6-0682)
Crystal Hearts by Say It In Crystals
Flower Button by Pebbles
Spellbinders die - Label Four (S4-190)
Sponged with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink
Papers are Authentique - Lovely Collection and Cloud9Design
Luster Sara's Garden Streams
Colored twine bow on button.
It's fun to quilt a design. You can cut some squares in half on the diagonal and
mix and match the patterns too.
Hope you have a chance to try this technique.
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great Monday.  Until later..............

Basket of Flowers

Hi friends.  Where did the week go?  We worked on opening our pond and had to take the filter box out and reseat it because it was leaking around the sides because it had
been displaced because of the ground shifting in the cold winter weather and ice!
What a job, but it is done and when I get the rock all back around the edge and cleaned up, will take some pictures.  Oh, did I mention that the pump didn't work when we went to start the filter, so had to replace that too........

Beautiful stamp by Northwoods Rubber Stamps
