Elephant Birthday

Hi friends.  Finally a break in the temps today.  Our Grandkids had no school Tuesday and Wednesday because of the very cold temps, but compared to down South where they had snow and ice and are not used to dealing with it, we were lucky.  Spring cannot come soon enough this year!

I ordered this darling little Elephant and the gift boxes, which are Magnolia.  I could not wait to ink them up and use them when I got them.

Little Elephant and gift boxes are by Magnolia.

BSS MONDAY IDEA -

WELCOME TO THE BUFFALO STAMPS AND STUFF MONDAY IDEA.

Every Monday a new card or project with a new idea.

Can you say cold!  I can't remember when I have stayed in for such long periods of
time, but it has been good for creating!  So, because it has been so cold and snowy, I
thought I would share a snowman stamp I bought and didn't get inked up yet.
I wanted to mix a couple of unusual colors and change up the design a little.  Hope you like it.

Today I am sharing a snowman set from Stampendous and a
little different layout.

This is a snowman set from Stampendous (details below)
that comes with a tree, a word stamp and the little snowflake I used on the front of the card.

A double row of snowflakes

The finished card front.
I combined lime green with Navy blue and white.

The inside of the card.

Card Recipe
Stamp Set - Stampendous-Jumbo Top Hat Snowman (CRS5056)
Inside Sentiment - Whipper Snapper Designs (IW 860)
Designer Paper - Bazzill Basics Huckleberry Pie 6x6 Pad
White embossing powder for inside sentiment and snowflakes
on the front of the card.
Circle punch for snowflakes.
Cuttlebug embossing folder swiss dots
WOW Embossing Powder - Neutral Ultra Shimmer (WS02R)
Snowflake punch along inside
Marvey circle punches for inside
Stampendous - Frantage Chunky White Embossing Enamel (FREG021)
Colored with Copic Markers

The squares on the front were cut at 1 1/2x1 1/2 inches.  The polka dot designer paper
was trimmed on each edge with decorative scissors (postage stamp). A lime green mat
and the embossed white piece were cut to fit the remaining space on the 5x7 inch card.
Snowflakes were stamped with Versamark, then embossed with white embossing powder
and using a small circle punch punched out and popped up on the squares.
After coloring the snowman, I used a small sponge applicator to apply Versamark to
his face and body and embossed with the WOW embossing powder for sparkle.
I cut him out, and sprinkled some Frantage Chunky White embossing enamel on
him and heated from underneath, so that it doesn't just blow off when you use the heat gun.
Glued a small piece of fluffy feather to the birds tail on his hat.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.

Love her little shoes and chubby little legs.

Snowman

Hello again.  I won the challlenge at Addicted to Stamps and More last week (thank you ladies).

I was thrilled to receive three sets of digis from Deedee's Digis.  One of the sets I chose is this adorable snowman.

Isn't he cute?  Love his hat.

Anyway, the challenge this week at Addicted to Stamps and More is CAS.
I have to admit I struggle with Clean and Simple Cards, because I love bling
and embellishments, but because this little guy is so cute by himself, I thought I would
give it a go.

I am also entering this card into the challenge at ABC Christmas Challenge, theme this challenge is
Letter B - Bare Essentials

Stamp and Sentiment are a set from Deedee's Digis
Red and white Cardstock
Darice snowflake embossing folder
Fiskars corner punch
Gold Stickles on hat

I printed twice and cut out the front leg, arm and carrot nose to
pop up to give depth.
Colored with Copics.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful  day.  Until later.......

BEE MINE

Hi friends.  Hope you're keeping warm if you are in the midst of winter where you are.  We are cold again, wind chill 10 below today.  Good day to stay in and create.

I made this card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  This month's theme is "New". I recently purchased a new Penny Black Sentiment clear stamp set called From the Heart, and I have used a sentiment
from this set on my card.  Also, Penny Black and More January Challenge, Love is in the Air.

I paired it with this vintage (1998) stamp from Penny Black that I just love.

And this is my finished card.

I punched small red hearts and stamped a small bee stamp to create a background on the
yellow textured card stock.
Banner created with bright red textured cardstock.
Colored with Copics.

I have a bunch of little ones in my family that I send Valentines to, and I know just who
is getting this one!

Long time since I played at Penny Black, used to play every week before they went to
once a month, my poor PB stamps are feeling neglected.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.  Until later....

MIDWEEK REMINDER FOR HMFMC # 161-

Hi House Mouse Lovers - Just a quick reminder that we are half way through our current Challenge, hosted by American, who wants you to use a stamp that you haven't used before.

We are Sponsored by Simon Says Stamp this week with a random assortment of their new inks, and as
a bonus, America is offering two lucky winners a chance to pick two house mouse stamps.

Here is my finished card.  I have had this stamp for awhile, and I think I
was a little intimidated to color it up, but once I got started, I loved it.

I used glossy accents on the big lobster.

Is the little House Mouse so cute with his buddy or what!

Lots of stickles (star dust) in the aquarium and on the coral
in the background.

I finished my card off with this little row of fish from a tiny punch.

This big beautiful stamp is by Stampabilities and is called Nutty Buddy.
I like to call it the NUTCRACKER! (HMTR1034)

Hope you can join the fun and play along with us.  You have until Saturday, January 25 at midnight EST.
Please take a look at the midweek inspiration on the HMFMC blog.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day.  Until later..........

BSS MONDAY IDEA - HALF HEART CUT OUT

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

Today's idea is a half heart cutout on the front of the card.

See how the heart is half cut out on the designer paper and then the
heart with the little bird on it fits inside of it on the card.

Had to show you a close up of this little sweet bird.  Love now the ribbon around
his neck is forming a heart!

This is the inside of the card.  The sentiment came with the little bird, so cute.

Card Recipe

Stamps - Art Impressions - Tweetheart Set (4363)
Dies - Spellbinder's Nestabilities Classic Hearts (S4136) and
Classic Scallopped Heart (S4-137)
Paper - Card Base is white card stock 5x7.
Designer paper is Carta Bella - Devoted 6x6 paper pad
The blue dotted designer paper is cut at 5x6 and adhered to the
white card front with a half inch of the white card showing at the top and bottom.
The hearts designer paper is cut at 3x6 inches.
Using the largest scalloped die, I placed half of the heart die
on the very edge of the right side of the heart paper and cut.
Adhere the heart paper with the cutout,  to the front of the card,
along the left side. Cut the next largest scalloped die with card stock.
You can use any heart shape if you don't have the dies.
Stamp your image on white card and color.
I cut the little bird out leaving the tail and his one foot outside the
second largest plain heart, which will fit into the scalloped heart perfectly.
There is a great tutorial on how to do this at
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/outoftheboxwithnestabilities/
Adhere the two hearts and place just inside the cutout on the card.
An action wobble was included with the stamp set, so that the little birds
head wobbles when you move the card.  (NOTE) The action wobble needs
to be trimmed way down to fit onto the back of the birds head.
Lacey border trim is Martha Stewart
Ticket on front is from the same paper pack.
Ribbon is from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day. Until later............

BSS MONDAY IDEA - HIDDEN TAG CARD

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

This week's idea is a hidden tag card.
My friend Cathy in Arizona sent me a card and I liked it so
much that I am going to show you how to make it today.
Thanks so much girlfriend!

Baskets of Hearts Stamp - Love it!

Front of the card.  Click on card to enlarge to see embossing.

Hidden tag.

Front of insert inside card.

Insert fully opened.

Card Recipe

Base card is bright red card stock cut to 5 x7 inches
Mat  front is cut at 4 3/4 x 6 3/4.  You will need two pieces
of paper.  I used one piece of the red card stock same as the base card
and one piece of gingham designer paper.
Ran the red card stock piece through the embossing folder.
Scored the right top corner for the fold down.
Adhere the two pieces together along the edge only.
Leave the fold down portion unglued  forming a pocket for the tag.
Decorate the front to your liking.
Adhere the entire mat you just made to the card front.
I cut a corner from a square lace doily for the fold over and attached a
heart brad and glued the fold down to the front.

Stamps - Baskets of hearts - Northwoods(08946)
Tag Sentiment- Hero Art- Love to you(G3264)
Inside scroll - Hero Arts-Fabulous Flourish (S5449)
Inside Sentiment - Serendipity Stamps (D155)
Inside punch - Martha Stewart
White embossing powder
Colored with Copics
Red heart brad
Tag for the pocket
White grossgrain ribbon

By attaching the ribbon bow to the tag, it is completely hidden and the
bow looks like an embellishment on the card.

This card works for any occasion, and a gift card or money can also
be slipped into the pocket.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.  Until later.........
