"Dandy"lion

Hi friends.  Raining today here so thought I would finish up some birthday cards I need for the weekend.  And in the process, I found this card I had started.  So, I finished it up and decided to post it today.

I got this dandelion embossing folder from Hot Off The Press.  I colored the stem
with chalk,  Then, I dotted glue all over the dandelion head and pressed white
flower soft into the glue. Butterfly is a Grand die from Spellbinders.
I used purple glitter paper and velum to cut it out.  Rhinestones for
the body.

A simple card, but I love how the flower soft brought the dandelion
bloom to life.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.  Until later.

BSS MONDAY IDEA - Summertime

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

This week we are ushering in summer with a bright fun card with
a beautiful picnic scene.

Card size is 6x4 1/2 inches side folded
Stamps - Cling Picnic Spread (CRP266) Stampendous
Inside Sentiment - Summer-(E3927) PrintWorks
Paper, Red, yellow and white cardstock.
Embossing folder- Darice Basket Weave
Die Cut Oval - Spellbinders - (S-5022) Labels Ten
Flowers are tiny punches from my stash
Center of flowers are flower soft yellow
Leaves are a Martha Stewart punch
Gingham Ribbon and paper strip on inside

I cut the mat (51/2x4 inches) from yellow cardstock
which I had embossed and then swiped a light brown
distress ink across the mat lightly to highlight the embossing.

I colored the image with Copics, cut it out with the
fourth die in the set (starting from the smallest)
I then made a frame with the red card stock by inserting
that die into the next largest die and cutting
with my die cut machine. Taped the frame to the cutout scene
on the back and adhered the framed image to the
embossed mat.

Happy Sunny Summer Days!
Thanks for stopping by.
Until later...........

BSS MONDAY IDEA - Window Fold-Over Card/Paper Piecing

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

This week, I set out to make this Window Fold-Over Card, which is a new
card design for me, and once I got to making up the card, I decided that the
darling Stampingbella image should be paper pieced.  So two techniques
this week.

Card Front

 Another view of card front.

Inside of card.

Stamp set = Stampingbella, The Right Shoes (cb250)
Paper - Black, red, white , tan and Black and white dotted
card stock.
Stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and
embossed with clear embossing powder, except
bows on shoes were stamped with Versamark Clear
ink, embossed with white Embossing Powder.
Spellbinders circle nestabilities 31/4" die for cutout
Dotted ribbon.
Clear rhinestones.

Card base (Black) is 12x4, score at 6"
Insert
Inside insert layers are:
Dotted Paper is 5"x57/8"
Red Paper is 4"x57/8"
White Image Layer - 31/2"x5 7/8"

Choose an image.  Cut the circle into the black card
front where you want your image to show.

Center the red layer to the dotted layer and adhere.  Center
the white image layer on the red layer (DO NOT ADHERE)
slide it inside the black card, Only the edges of the
dotted paper should show when the card is closed.
Make a small mark where your image should be stamped inside
the circle.
I made a small pencil mark at the bottom of the stamp on
the white layer.  Remove the white layer, stamp and
color or paper piece your image.
To paper piece, I stamped the legs on tan, the shoes on red,
and the bows on the dotted cardstock.  Cute them out and
glued them to the white image layer.  I stamped the
sentiment on red cardstock, cut around the words, then using a small
piece of black card stock behind it,
cut around leaving a small border.
Adhere the finished stamped and colored or pieced layer to
the red layer by centering,
Adhere the insert inside the black card to the inside
back only. Image should now be centered
in the circle cutout when card is closed.  Add a ribbon to the front.
This makes a 5x6 inch card.

Measurements to make a 41/2x51/2 inch card:

Card base is 11x 31/4 inch, score at 51/2 inches
Layers are:
41/4 x 5 7/16 inches, 3 7/8 x 5 7/16 inches and
3x5 7/16 inches.  You will need to use a smaller
circle for the cutout.

This is a fun image and the card is fun to make.
Hope you have a chance to try it soon.

Have a great day, Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later..........

Happy Father's Day

A quick post to wish all Dad's a Happy Father's Day.

Here is the card I made for my husband for his day.

I decided to use this wonderful wolf pair stamp for my card.
It is by Northwoods Rubber Stamps.

We both have a thing for Wolves and have done a little studying of them.
We even visited several out of state Wolf preserves to see these magnificent
creatures up close.

Charcoal Grey and light Grey card stock.  Martha stewart
border punch. Colored with Copics.

As a side note, the phone rang early this afternoon and it
was our daughter (our only child) and her car would not
start and she could not reach her husband.  So DAD
to the rescue. Went and got it started with a jump
and then brought it back to our house to charge the
battery.  Just goes to show, no matter how old they
get, when Daddy's girl needs him, he is right there!!!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Day.  Until later...........
