MIDNIGHT MADNESS CHALLENGE # 44

CLOSE UP OF BOOKMARKS MADE FROM PART OF THE WAGS'N WHISKERS RUBBER STAMP "A GOOD BOOK" THE POEM I GOT ON THE INTERNET, AUTHOR UNKNOWN.

HERE IS A PICTURE OF THE OVER 20 BOOKMARKS I MADE TO PUT IN THE LITTLE BOX I DECORATED WITH THE MIDNIGHT MADNESS SKETCH CHALLENGE #44.

THESE ARE BOOK PLATES. I STAMPED THE TOP NOTE DIE CUT FROM STAMPIN UP WITH THE "A GOOD BOOK" RUBBER STAMP AND ADDED THE WORDS FROM MY COMPUTER. I RAN EACH ONE THROUGH MY XYRON MACHINE SO THAT THEY ARE SELF ADHESIVE AND A BACKING CAN JUST BE PEELED OFF AND THEN THE BOOK PLATE CAN BE PLACED IN THE FRONT OF THE BOOK.

HERE IS THE BOX I DECORATED TO HOUSE THESE GOODIES USING THE SKETCH FOR THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE.

When I received this stamp to use on this week's challenge I immediately knew I was going to make something my daughter Heidi could use in her first grade class. This is the year they learn to read, so I used the sketch to decorate the outside of the box then filled the box with the book plates and bookmarks. I wanted to use bright primary colors and added some reading and school related embellishments. The cute image of the little girl reading was colored with copics.

The word read on the book outline and the kids reading in the right border, and the apple are done on the cricut with the A Childs Year cartridge. The ruler was stamped on bright yellow paper with black ink and embossed. The alphabet twill ribbon I purchased at my LSS. The raised dots are from Martha Stewart.

What fun I had making little box of goodies up. Thank you Stamp and Create for this cute stamp. They are our weekly sponsor this week, and are offering two rubber stamps and a $15.00 gift certificate, which you can see on the Midnight Madness blog.

Remember, our monthly sponsor is Priscilla's brand new online store. She has offered up some wonderful prizes which you can see on the Midnight Madness blog.

BSS-Monday Challenge-Cut Away Edge

This is a close-up of the cut away edge.

Close up of the kitty pretending to be The Bunny!

Good Monday Morning. Today's card for the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Challenge is a cut away edge. All you do is randomly adhere whatever you want to line the edge with, about 1/2 inch in from the edge. When you have it the way you want it, cut away the edge of the card so that your newly created edge is all that is showing. The possibilities are endless, leaves, snowflakes, Easter eggs, shamrocks, flowers, balloons, well you get the idea.
The bunny, errr, kitty pretending to be a bunny is a stamp by Impression Obsession. Papers are Bazzill Bling, flowers are Prima. Glued white feathers on his little bunny ear headband to look like fur. The kitties belly is fun flock.
Have a great Monday. Thanks for stopping by. Until later..................

You're My Cup of Tea

Beautiful digi image from Priscilla (http://www.priscillastyles-store.blogspot.com/) and her custom made envelope templates for extra thick cards.
A closer view of the cared. The papers are Graphic 45. I copies the digi image of the teapot and cut onto peach colored cardstock. Colored with Copics and cut out. Popped up several times. Colored white rose with Copics and addes stickles. Border punch is Martha Stewart.

Inside of the card is also a digi image of sentiment.
Hello. Enjoyed some sunshine today and mild temps again today. Kids had the day off, but Mom had to work, so they came this morning. We went out to lunch and then on to Chuck E Cheese for some fun time. Was fun spending the day with them. Megan has been saving her money to buy an I Touch. She was almost there, so I gave her the what she needed to get it as an advance on her birthday gifts. She was thrilled, and as soon as Heidi came to pick them up, she wanted to go get it, well, about an hour later she called and said they were charging it and she would be able to use it tomorrow. She is so excited.
Todays card and envelope is a digi image I purchased from Priscilla, the site owner of the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. She has just recently opened an online store with some really unique merchandise. There is a link above and on the right. She is also giving away some nice stuff this month as the sponsor of the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, you should really go see (http://www.priscillastyles.blogspot.com/). I am loving the envelope template for making envelopes for thick cards so they don't get ruined trying to get them in a regular envelope.
Hope you have a great day. Thanks for stopping by. Until later..............

What a selection he has and you can even get retired images right up to all the new releases. Papers are from DCWV, Nana's Kids. Flower is Prima. Pearls are Kaiser. Used Fun Flock on the bunny.

Hope you had a great day. Thanks for stoping by. Until later.............

MIDNIGHT MADNESS SKETCH CHALLENGE 43

Today is the first challenge at Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge that I am doing as the Guest Diva for the month of March.(MMSC #43) You can find the sketch on the website, and they are now offering two sketches, fancy, or clean and simple, and it's entirely up to you. Don't you just love having choices!

The MMSC43 weekly Bonus Sponsor is Sunshine and Giggles. They offer digi images of children. They have supplied the design team with some of their images and we have used them this week on our cards for challenge # 43. The bonus prize is 3 digital images-winner's choice from Sunshine and Giggles along with some other wonderful goodies you can see on the MM site.

Our March Monthly sponsor is Priscillastyles Store. This is a brand new online store just opened by Priscilla Heaton, who is the site owner of the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. She is adding new items all the time. So you should sign up to follow her so you can watch for new items. There are some fun gadgets, digi images and her wonderful envelope templates. I have used the 6x6 envelope with my card entry today and it is the best. It is quick to put together and the best part, your highly embellished card just slips right in and no bumps or lumps.

So, as the monthly sponsor, Priscilla has offered up some wonderful items for prizes. You must go to both the store and the MM site to see for yourself. A Pocket organizer, the 6x6 envelope kit, an adorable pink ribbon chest and a drink holder!

For my card, I have used an image from Sunshine and Giggles. Ah, first love. If you're old enough to remember that first date to get ice cream (and hold hands) your lucky, it was such an innocent time. I paper pieced the clothes and table cloth and colored the rest of the image with Copics. I restamped the ice cream and his right arm and popped them up. The background paper is by Graphics 45. The daisies and pearl hearts are by K & Company. The red heart cluster is from Michaels Reflection brand. I added red and white corners and red hearts. The easel card opens to "He loves me, he loves me not, with a couple of daisies and some loose petals.
That's it, hope you like it, very nostalgic for me! You have to check out what the design team gals did with their digi's from Sunshine and Giggles.

Have a great Tuesday. Hope you can join in the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge this week and please tell them "Sue" sent you! Thanks for stopping by. Until later..........

BSS Monday Challenge-Side Step Card

Good Morning. Monday is the day I post a challenge for my local stamp store, Buffalo Stamps and Stuff. Today's challenge is to make a Side Step Card. There are a lot of tutorials on the internet, and here is one of them. It's a video tutorial, so you get to see how easy it goes together. (thanks to Mary who made this video) The card folds flat for mailing.

Stamp credits are:

Bunny with carrot -Inky Antics

Basket of eggs - Great Impressions

Little Chicks - Darcies

Word sentiment - Printworks

I glittered the eggs in the basket and the little chicks. I used fun flock on the bunny's tail.

I made my card a little bigger than the tutorial

I cut the cardstock 5 1/2 by 11

I cut the slit starting at 1 inch in from the left to 8 inches from the left ( a 7 inch slit)

The slit is 2 1/2 inches from the top of the card

I scored below the slit at 1 inch, 2 inch, 3 1/2 inch, 5 inch, and 8 inch

The 5 inch score goes from top to bottom NOT just below the slit.

Sounds complicated, but after you watch the video tutorial you'll see how easy it is

to fold this card and then get to the decorating.

Have a great Monday. Thanks for stopping by. Until later...............
