BSS - MONDAY IDEA - HONEYCOMB PAPER

Welcome to the Monday Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Idea
Every Monday I post an idea for my local stamp store, Buffalo Stamps and Stuff
Today's idea is to use Honeycomb Paper. This fun project uses the honeycomb pad from Inky antics, along with the Clear Stamp Set Caterpillar HoneyPop, also by Inky Antics.

I made a Joy Fold card. All stamps are from the Catepillar set.
Blue textured card stock for the base card. Green gingham and polka dots for the mats.
The images are colored with Copics. His little glasses are shiny with glossy accents.
Peeled Paint distress ink around edges of image and sentiment.
EK Success rick rack punch.

The card opened. Here is the fun for this card! I cut apples from the
stamp set out of the honeycomb paper and adhered them to the folds, so that when you open the card, the honeycomb paper opens up! So cute!
Barn Door red distress ink used around edge of image.
A small Velcro half circle used to keep the card closed.

Honeycomb paper is fun to play with and adds an element of surprise when
the recipient of your card opens it. Packages contain one color and it comes in a variety of colors.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Hope you have a chance to try this fun technique.

Until later..............

SUMMER NIGHTS

Hello, if you live in the US.........HOT ENOUGH FOR YOU?
Oh my goodness, this is obscene.  At 6 am this morning, it was 85 degrees
and we live in the Northern US!  The heat index says it fees like 104!
Now they are asking you to conserve electricity because the grids are overloaded and in
some places power has gone out..............YIKES!

This adorable digi is from the Priscillas Style Store.  I suggested an image of a little girl
sitting at a table looking at a jar with lightening bugs in it to another well know digi artist and she did say she would put it in her file and liked the idea, but never created one, so I was so excited when I saw that Priscilla had done a digi like this.

Paper Doily, was trying to create a lattice effect with the doily
Vine die cut - Memory Box

BEACH BABES

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea

Today's idea is to make a banner for your card.

To make the banner:

Cut strips of paper 1x2 inches.
Fold in half so you end up with a 1 inch square
Mark a dot at 1/2 inch at the bottom unfolded edge
Cut from the mark to the right hand corner
Cut from the mark to the left hand corner
After as many banner pieces you will need are cut, add letters, center them
on some kind of twine or string. Adhere the front to the back.
Adhere to card when everything else is in place on your card.
I used pop dots to pop up the banner and hold it in place.

Card Recipe:

Stamp - Art Impressions-Girlfriends
Paper - textured orange card stock, design paper My Mind's Eye,
Stella and Rose
Colored with Copic Markers
Cut out with Oval Grand Spellbinder's die
Shell - K & Company
Baker's Twine
Sand, sponged with course sponge, brown ink
Small alphabet for lettering, white embossing powder
Star Dust Stickles

These beach babes were so much fun to color and the little beach scene so much fun
to create.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great Monday.  Until later...........

HOUSE MOUSE AND FRIENDS MONDAY CHALLENGE #99

Time for Challenge #99
House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge

The theme for this challenge was chosen by our talented teammate, Heather
and she chose "Anything to do with water"

Easy Peasy, right?  So many of our little mice, gruffy and happy hopper friends are doing something near or in the water!

Like this little bunny, relaxing in a nice hot soak!

Besides coloring this darling with Copics and making him the focal point of the card, I let the papers I used do the talking on this card.  They are from the DCWV Mariposa Stack.  I used a six by six inch piece of the card stock from this stack to make my base card, then cut out the butterflies from another piece of the same card stock and bent the wings up and adhered them over the butterflies on the card.

The sentiment is Hero Arts.  Flowers are silk, pulled from a purchased stem with rhinestone centers.  Rhinestone swirls from Michael's.  Lots of Star Dust and Crystal Stickles, bubbles look so cool in real life.  The die cut is Nellie Snellen.

Our Sponsor for this challenge is Simon Says Stamp, and they have graciously offered a fabulous $ 15 online shopping gift for the lucky randomly drawn winner.

We are welcoming two new Guest Design Team members for the month of July, Gill M and
Kat. Welcome ladies, we are looking forward to seeing what you come up with for our challenges.

For some great inspiration, go to the House Mouse and Friends blog site and check out what
the talented ladies on the design team have come up with for our water challenge.

Don't forget, you must use a House Mouse, Gruffie or Happy Hopper image to join the challenge.
We look forward to visiting and checking out these critters with water!!!

I want to wish a very happy birthday to our own America Kuhn who is celebrating her birthday today, July 4th!  I'm sure they will be celebrating at the Kuhn house, as America and their kids have recently welcomed their husband/Dad home from deployment.
So celebrate your day.  I wish you many more happy, healthy birthdays!
xoxoxoxo

Have a great Monday.  Happy Independence Day to US Bloggers.  Thanks for stopping by.
Until later.....................

BSS MONDAY IDEA - Emboss Your Embossing

It's my post for my local stamp store, Buffalo Stamps and Stuff.

Today's idea is to Emboss your Embossing.
That is, emboss card stock with an embossing folder, lightly rub over the
entire piece with a pigment pad, or a Versamark pad.  Use clear embossing powder over an ink color, or colored embossing over Versamark watermark pad.

Use as a mat for an image as I did,  or cut with a die cut to go with an image.

What I used on this card:

Stamp - Popcorn The Bear
Die - Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles Sm
Cuddlebug Embossing Folder
Yellow dotted swiss ribbon
Colored with Copic Markers
Stickles - Crystal
Brilliance - Dew Drop Sky Blue
Clear Embossing Powder

This is a fun technique and the results are great!

Hope you have a chance to try it.

Happy Independence Day!  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later...........
