GEISHA

Happy Tuesday.

Today's card is for the Gingersnap Chestnut themeChallenge #97 Geishas.  The challenge closes on May 1st, so I am squeaking in here at the end.

This beautiful Geisha is a rubber stamp by Beeswax Stamps.  I have had her a long time, but every time I ink this beauty up, I am in awe when I raise the stamp off the paper.

I colored her with Copic Markers.  Papers are by K & Compnay.  Ran the yellow card stock through a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The butterflies were cut with a border punch by EK Success.  The large butterfly is cut from the dp.  Border stamp is Martha.
I used some glitter and Stickles too.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Tuesday.  Until later...............

HOUSE MOUSE AND FRIENDS MONDAY CHALLENGE #94

Welcome to the House Mouse and Friends Monday
 Challenge #94

I got to pick the theme this time and I chose:

Travel - Anything that gets you from one place to another.

This should be an easy challenge, because the House Mouse critters are
always on the move, walking, gliding, floating, skiiing, skating, sledding,
hopping, on motorcycles, flying through the air, in wagons, in cars, so many choices.

How cute is this mouse and his traveling companion!  I wanted to use the sentiment
"Are we there yet?", but it didn't fit in the space!

I colored with Copics.  The water lillies are from K & Company.  The papers are DCWV.
Pretty simple card, but love this pair!

The challenge runs through Sunday May 8th.

Our Guest Design Team members for May, Julia and Avril are with us again for this challenge.  We want to thank them for playing along beside us and for their great contributions to our challenges, it's been fun.

Check in at the challenge blog and see what the design team came up with for our Travel theme.
Then, ink up those House Mouse, Gruffie or Happy Hopper stamps and show us what you got.  We look forward to visiting you.

Thanks for stopping by today. Until later......................

BSS MONDAY IDEA - HAPPY SPRING FLOWERS

Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

Every Monday, I post an idea for my local stamp store, Buffalo Stamps and Stuff on their blog.

Today's idea is Happy Face Flowers.

How cute are these little Tulips.
I used the Cricut cartridge "A walk in the Garden" and
the faces are Peachy Keen Stamps clear stamps.
Both the pot and flowers are from the Cricut cartridge.

I embossed the blue background and the pot with embossing folders.
Added the bow to the pot.  I sponged distress ink around the pot and
added highlites to the flowers.

You can use these faces from Peachy Keen Stamps on any flowers, fruits or shapes.

Have a great Monday.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later.................

EASTER GIFT TAG

Hello.  Hope your Good Friday went well.  It's cold here again and cloudy.  Not supposed to be very warm and sunny for Easter Sunday either.

I made this tag for the challenge at Teddy Bo Challenge #8.
The challenge was to make a tag.  this one is going on an Easter Gift for my Grandson.

I colored with Copics.  Stamped bunny Bo onto a die cut from Spellbinders.  The heart papers are from DCWV and the little bunnies are punches.  The felt eggs are from Michael's.  I tied curly ribbon to the tag for decoration.

Have a great Easter Weekend.  Don't eat too much chocolate!  Thanks for stopping by today.
Until later..................

EASTER EGG

Hi.  Hope you had a great Thursday.  I spent most of the day today watching a live feed
Bald Eagle Cam in Norfolk, Virginia.  Have been watching it since the female laid eggs and
three Eaglets hatched.  Today, though, they removed the babies from the nest and banded them.
Was so emotional to see these babies lined up on the ground, they don't fly or walk yet, looking so vulnerable, waiting their turn for they knew not what!  All went well, it's not their first time doing this and the parents are multiple time parents in this beautiful botanical gardens.  If you are interested, google Eagle Cam then pick the one in Norfolk, Virginia.  They have a live feed with questions and comments also. People from all over the world are watching this family of Eagles.  No night time viewing.

I made this card for the challenge at Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC# 100).

The beautiful Easter Egg stamp is from Northwoods Rubber Stamps.  The papers are from DCWC, Cotton Blooms stack and K&Company florals.  The butterfly is from Michael's.  I used a Spellbinders die cut for the squares.  The bunnies running along the bottom are a border punch from Martha Stewart.  I used Star Dust Stickles along the edge of the image.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Friday.  Until later..........

PEEP PEEP

Hello.  Would you believe this is my first week not working and I already don't know what day of the week it is!!!

I also still have Easter stamps I bought that I haven't stamped yet!  But that being said, I just had a need to stamp and color a Magnolia's Tilda.  I bought this one last year and didn't get to use it.

I made this card for the Challenge at Magnolia Down Under, #92 which is Easter.
The little chick is just wondering how Tilda got into that shell!!  And when I colored her yellow and finsihed, I was thinking she kinda looked like a yoke!!

The green die cut is a Marianne Design, got it at my local stamp store.  Colored Tilda with Copics and the egg with Perfect Pearls.  The flowers are pulled from a silk bush.  The felt chick is from Michael's.
The swiss dotted tuille purchased at Walmart on a ribbon roll. Kaiser pearls around the die cut.

I'm also entering this card in the Challenge at Stampin' for the Weekend,#7 which is also Easter.

Have a great Wednesday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later..................

BSS-MONDAY IDEA - SPELLBINDER'S MOTHER'S DAY PURSE

Welcome to the Bufalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

Today's idea comes from the Spellbinder's website.  It's a purse made from
the new grand die cuts for the new Grand Caliber die cut mahcine.
This machine  holds an 81/2 by 11 piece of paper and the dies are
bigger.  You can see the instructions  on how to make this
cute gift holder  purse HERE.

Designer paper is Cosmo Cricket.  The flower is made from gathered crocheted lace, gingham stretch ruffle, and a yellow button.

Here is a sideways view.

Would make a great little gift card holder made with the smaller Nestibility dies.
Cute little treat boxes for a shower or party too.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Monday. Until later...............

Teddy Bea Bunny

Hi, happy Friday.  I finished my seasonal work as tax season winds down.  It was good to be with friends again and working two days a week, but with the nice weather finally arriving, everyone is glad to have the pressure of tax season coming to an end.

Rick was off today, and the sun was shinning, so he put the pump in the waterfall for the pond and started it up.  So nice to see it running again and to hear the water trickling sound, so peaceful.

Today's card is for the challenge at Teddy Bo Challenge, which is to use your punches on your card.

Teddy Bea is all dressed up as a bunny and going egg hunting.  She has a basketful of brightly colored eggs.

The papers are from the 6x6 stack called Bunny Love from Best Creations Inc.  I colored her with Copic Markers and sponged the edges with Spun Sugar distress ink.  I punched the lace in the center from a Martha Stewart border punch.  The eggs are punched from glitter paper using a small egg punch.  The tag was in the paper stack.

Hope you have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend.  Supposed to rain both Saturday and Sunday here.
Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later.................

BSS MONDAY IDEA - GLOSSY ACCENTS AS A PERMANENT MASK

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

Today's idea is to use Glossy Accents as a permanent mask.
I found this idea on the Hero Arts blog site at

Close up of stamped image by Northwoods with glossy accents applied. Click on image to enlarge.

This technique is pretty neat.  I stamped the basket of flowers with Versafine Onyx and embossed with clear EP.  I then cut the square with a Spellbinders square die.  I colored the image with Copic markers then covered the entire image with glossy accents.  After letting it dry thoroughly, I sponged different distress ink around the main image.  I then used the script stamp by Penny Black and stamped right over the image with Momento black ink.  Using a paper towel, I wiped the ink off the glossy accents covering the image. I mounted this piece onto a pink mat.  The sentiment is stamped on one of the Spellbinder's Fancy Tag Two set.  The lace border is Martha Stewart.  A thin braid of purple added to the top of the lace.

The glossy accents raises the image up and makes it stand out.  Hope you have time to try this technique.

Have a great Monday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later.....

A PLACE TO RELAX

Hi.  Hope you had a great week.  Have been busy running around.  We are celebrating Megan's 13th birthday this weekend.  Hard to believe, seems like just yesterday that we became Nana and Papa.  She is such a great gal, plays the guitar and the clarinet, and dances three days a week and maintains great grades at school.  Love that girl.  She's having a sleep-over tonight, and my daughter is wondering how we put up with those when she was growing up.......pay back's a bi......!

Today's card is for the challenge at Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC98).  This beautiful stamp is by Impression Obsession.  I colored with Copic Markers, and chalked the background.  Papers are form the Basic Gray, Olivia collection.  Flowers are from he Bridal Dept at Michael's.  Corners are a punch from Paper shapers.  Butterflies are a punch from Anna Griffin

T

The lace border is from a doily.  The corners are a Sizzix die cut.  I stamped, embossed and colored the image with Copics.  Embossed a pink panel and sponged with Spun Sugar distress ink.  Then the image was glued to the back of the panel after die cutting a scalloped oval.  The sparkly bunny is a foam die cut from the dollar store.  The flowers are pulled from silk flower stems.  Kaiser Pearls for centers.

BSS- MONDAY IDEA - SHUT THE DOOR!!

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea

A while back, Sharon introduced this die cut, exclusively made for Buffalo Stamps and Stuff of a screen door.  She made up kits, which include two die cuts for each card one for the front and one
for the inside and the screen.  Enough to make four cards.

So, this week, I had a play with one of the kits.  I chose white doors, she cuts them in all colors.
The first one, I sponged on bundled sage distress ink, added a yellow brad and a sequin for the door knob.
The inside bird bath scene is by Inkadinkado.

The second one, I decided to make a winter door.  I used the little rectangles that were cut from the bottom of the door, which are included in the kit, and cute smaller blue panels, and glued them back into the holes, after adhering the door to the card.  For the window in the top I used a piece of acetate. The inside stamp is by B-Line Stamps.

For the third one, I used paper from the Stella and Rose, Mabel papers by My Mind's Eye.  I ran the door through the wood grain cuttlebug embossing folder and sponged with Vintage Photo distress ink.  Added a brad for the knob.  The kitten is an old unmounted stamp I've had forever and the inside stamp of the boy building a tree house is from The Rubber Cottage.

For the last one, I also ran it through the wood grain embossing folder, sponged with Barn Red distress ink. Added a brad knob.  The inside scene is a stamp by Impression Obsession.

These are fun little cards to make and give.
Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you have a great Monday. Until later......
