Comfort and Joy

Hi. Hope your enjoying your Saturday. Glad you could take a couple of minutes to come in and visit. The blog dog came up to the stamp room this morning for a visit, so I just had to take her picture. Every once in awhile, she comes up and lays in the back room (I have two rooms, I know, how lucky is that!) while I stamp. I took a great picture of her yesterday in the snow, will post that later. Today's card is a house mouse design (just got it in the mail along with several others, and could not wait to ink it up). Since it has been so cold here, and today is no exception, this little guy looked so warm adn cozy, I did him first. I don't use purple and lilacs very often, but I like how this turned out. I decorated candy bars for Megan's class for Valentines Day. I took a picture, so will share that with you tomorrow. I'm also decorating some store bought candy boxes from the Wilton Cake dedorating section for Valentines, and will post pictures of them too. Very quick and easy and make great little gifts. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday. Super Bowl Sunday tomorrow! In honor of my friend, Cathy in Arizona, GO CARDINALS!!! Until later..............

Here Kitty Kitty

It's finally Friday! Still snowing lightly. Had another couple inches overnight. Getting hard to find a place to put it. All the parking lots are piled high with the white stuff and no place to park. Supposed to warm up over the weekend, but more snow on Tuesday. How many days til Spring? To those of us who have had all this cold and snow since November, it can't come soon enough. Today's card is a wonderful photo type stamp that stamps perfectly every time. Does this kitty have attitude or what? I bought this stamp unmounted at convention and because I didn't know I was going to be blogging my cards some day, never kept track to whose stamp they were. I'm thinking either Stamp Camp or Beeswax, but I am not sure. If anyone knows, I would be glad to add that to this blog. I stamped the image with marvy ink pads in two colors of orange. The lighter orange all over, and the darker rusty orange around the edges. I also stamped the kitty on the inside in black and stamped and embossed the words over her. The only coloring I did was the eyes. The background designer papers are by colorbox. Thanks for stopping in. Hope you like this card. Until later..............

DESIGN TEAM CALL

The people over at the Monday House Mouse Challenge are looking for two new design team members. In order to be considered, they asked that each person interested, post to their blog 3 cards, in order to see your work. I am definitely so interested. I now have the time, as I am only working two days a week, and this has been a dream of mine for some time now. So, here is my application! I would be honored to be considered.

Cute Kids

Happy Thursday and welcome in. We got about 4-6 inches of new snow on top of the old stuff that was already on the ground yesterday and overnight. The wind kicked up later in the evening, so blew it around. It is really cold out there today, kids played outside this morning for about 5 minutes before the bus picked them up and their little cheeks were red. Today's card is a retired stamp from Stampin Up, a valentines set. Don't these kids remind you of the Campbell Kids? The friend to friend word stamp is from Michaels $1.00 bin. I'm wrapping candy bars and decorating them for the kids and Heidi's classes for Valentines Day, will take a pic and post it when I am done. Hope your having a great Thursday and thanks for stopping by. Until later.....

Indian Brave

More snow today. Was downtown for my job today, and we were on the 7th floor of one of the office buildings. Snow was coming down ever so slowly all day, and when you looked out the window it looked so pretty. It was NOT pretty to drive into work or back home at night. Took twice as long on the drives. And to think we could have another month of this!!! Today's card is a departure from Valentines. The stamp is an old Embossing Arts stamp. In more recent years, these stamps have been released by Auntie Amy. I have several different American Indian ones that I love. Hope you had a great Wednesday. Until later..........

Chocolate Rabbit!

Hi. Happy Tuesday. Off to work for the next two days! I made this card for the house mouse challenge, it is of course a House Mouse Design rubber stamp or should I say House Bunny! The challenge was to use paper piercing on your card. I pierced the corners and the small hearts on the right side of the card. Hope you have a great Tuesday. Until later..............

Beautiful Ballerina

Good Morning. It's Monday again. I don't dislike Monday like I used to because I don't work on Monday now. But, the truth be told, Tuesday is my Monday now. So, whatever your doing and wherever you are, hope your Monday is going well. I made today's card for a challenge on Paper Craft Planet, which I just joined today! It was a sketch challenge, where they give you the basic sketch you must follow, but then you do your thing and post it on their site, so you can see how everyone used the same sketch, but a lot of different cards immerge. The ballerina is a stamp from Just for Fun and the word bloom is part of a stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms. Thanks for stopping in. Leave me a comment, always love to hear from everyone. Until later...........

Heart Shaped Metal Tin

Would you like to see how I made the heart-shaped tin (a dollar store find) above with the help of this sizzix die cut? See the post below.

HOW TO

1. Using the die cut from sizzix, run through your machine twice to make two flowers.

2. Using a small sponge, ink the edges with a slightly darker color than your cardstock.

3. At the curve of each petal, cut in on a curve almost to the center. Be careful not to go too far. Curve your cut to the left each time that looks something like ).

4. Using a pencil, dowel, or anything round, roll each petal inward.

5. Assemble the flowers. between each layer, use a dimentional to make the flower more 3D.

Play with the petals until you like the look.

6. Use beads, pearls or rhinestones for center of flower.

7. Using the lid of the tin, trace onto your cardstock. I am using double sided cardstock here,
so I am tracing on the side I am not going to use. Trim the edges to fit the top of the tin.

Because I used lace trim around the tin, I didn't have to be really careful when trimming. Glue the cut out to the top of the tin.

Finish by using your flowers you made (if you don't have this die or a die cutting machine, consider using purchased silk flowers. or a stamp image. I added ribbon, the lace trim and
filled the tin with some yummy goodies. Hope you liked watching this go together and
will give it a try. Don't forget, if you can't find the tins, you can always use small plain candy boxes and decorate them. Thanks for looking. Until later..............

The Rose

Saturday morning. Hope everyone gets a chance to get an extra 40 winks today. It's always nice to be able to sleep in a bit on the weekends, isn't it, kinda like decadent right? Today's card is a beautiful rose, a retired stamp from Stampin up. The blue cardstock was stamped with a large background stamp from B Line Stamps. This stamp is huge, measures 6 x 6! The words, is a stamp by Stampland. The silver love you and hugs and kisses are cuddlebug dies that were a combo with the small hearts folder. Hope you have a great Saturday, thanks for looking in, please leave a comment if you see something you like. Until later................

BFF

Hey, it's finally Friday! Missy, this card's for you. Look how young we look in that picture! Amazing how our friendship has endured all these years with so much distance between us (She's in Texas and I am in NY), And we only knew each other for a month and a half when we met in California and I came back to NY to live. Amazing that just when you need a friend, and boy did I need one, there she was! Love ya. Today's card is a stamp from My Favorite Things, including the words. The paper is from Debbie Mumm, including the cut out of the book. The layout is the splitcoast stampers sketch challenge for the week. Hope you have a great Friday. Until later...........

Apple fritters were the hit this moring. Todays card is a House Mouse Design and I did it for their Monday challenge. The challenge was a color challenge, asking you to use peach, navy and olive in the disign of your card. I have had this stamp for some time, but it has always been a favorite of mine. I punched the little frogs at the bottom. The olive is run through the tall grass cuddlebug folder. I hope you have a great Thursday, thanks for stopping in to take a peek. Until later.............

Kliban Cat Valentine

Good morning. I am off to work again this morning. It is cold outside again, below zero. Suppose to warm up later today and throughout the rest of the week, YEAH. I am sick of snow and cold. Todays card is a Kliban Cat design that are no longer being made. They are very collectible though, and I have several in my collection. The small heart background is a cuddlebug folder, the scalloped ovals are nestibilities and the pink lace edge is done with a fiskars edger. The words are from a clear set bought at Joanns. Hope you have a great Wednesday. Until later...............

Pretty LIttle Bird

Inauguration Day! I am off to work today, but looking forward to watching all the goings on when I get home tonight. It's pretty exciting to hope that we can change some things and get back on track. Today's card is a little bird from Inkadinkado. The panels are nestabilities in graduated sizes in different colors. The leaves are done with a cuddlebug folder in mint green, then I ran a dark green dye ink pad over it. Just a reminder, it is cold outside and these little guys are looking for food, so if you can, remember to put seed out once in awhile. And they are fun to watch at a feeder. Have a great day. Until later..........

Lady in Blue

Hello. I bought this stamp yesterday at the sale at my local stamp store. It's a B-Line stamp. I knew I wanted to give her a vintage look, and I actually had a hard time getting this card to look the way I wanted it to. I love their stamps and I had looked at this one before yesterday.I guess I will play with it another day and see what I come up with. Have to get some work done today, like vacuuming and dusting. Have a great Sunday, Until later............

Elegant Valentine

Good Morning. I got up this morning at 5:30 a.m. to go to my local stamp store, Buffalo Stamps and Stuff for Sharon's annual wacky weekend sale. If you arrive between 6:30 a.m. and 7:59 a.m., you get a coupon for 35% off anything in the store! Boy did I have fun. You will be seeing some of my bargains in the days ahead! Today's card is a beautiful stamp from PSX. I punched the hearts out after I ran the black cardstock through a cuddlebug folder. With the black touches, I think it would make a great guy valentine. We are going to have a warming with temps going above freezing next week. Until later..............

CUPCAKE BIRTHDAY

Baby it's cold outside. Kids are hoping that school will be closed today! Today's card is a stamp from Impression Obsession. Don't those cupcakes look good enough to eat. I made this card for the sketch challenge at Split Coast Stampers. Love these flowers. They almost look like they have frosting on them from the cupcakes. The blog dog goes out in the cold (she normally loves the cold weather, all that fur ya know) but her paws ice up and she stands on the patio with one paw in the air. Finally she limps in and shortly her paw thaws out and she's fine. Hope you have a great Friday......miss you too Sheila! Until later.............
