FLOWER CUPCAKE

Hello, it's Thursday already!  Where does the time go?  Rick is feeling so much better, but today he has been tired from the time he got up today.  Has dosed off several times and slept sound in the chair, think his body finally caught up with the surgery and all the drugs.  He is weaning back on the pain meds and will probably be off them tomorrow, providing that there is no pain.  Otherwise, he is a good patient!

Today's card is for the Challenge at Paper Cupcakes.  It's a challenge where they supplied a picture for inspiration, the picture being autumn leaves.  I chose the yellow and green hues in the leaves to create this card. The adorable image was graciously provided free by the artist, Nina.  The papers are from DCWV, The Cafe Mediterranean.  I colored the image with Copics and added glitter to the flower frosting.  Colored Kaiser pearls with Copics to match.  Sentiment is by Savy Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope your Thursday is fantastic. Until later.................

SNOWMAN PARTS

Today was a beautiful fall day here.  Leaves are starting to fall and the chestnuts too, yard is already covered with them, not the kind you can eat, horse chestnuts.  We rake them up onto a tarp and haul them across the street into an empty lot for the deer.

This card is for the Challenge at Sassy Cheryls #31.  The challenge was to make something with your favorite Sassy digital stamp.  Well, this is my favorite at  the moment, because I just bought it.  I love all her images of children and snowmen!

The background paper is The Paper Studio.  I colored this great image with Copics.  The border is a Martha Stewart snowflake punch.  The red snowflakes are a punch by Marvey.  I distress the main image with Ranger distress ink.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Thursday.  Until later..................

Tilda Violinist

Hello.  My hubby finally had his surgery to repair the rotator cuff in his shoulder yesterday.  It is the second surgery.  He went through it in March 2009 and the surgery failed and everything they did came undone.  Yesterday was a long day, we had to be there at 6 a.m.  He came home immediately after he recovered for a very short time and mostly slept the day away.  He is hooked up to cooling machine which runs cold ice water to a pad that is over the shoulder.  Today was a better day, he ate and did some exercises that they gave him to do.  He is hating the pain meds, they make him feel loopy.  He has a six month recovery ahead of him, so we are hoping for the very best outcome, movement without pain.  So, I am being the very best nurse I can be, without the proper training!!!!

Today"s card which took me all day in between nursing duties!!!,  is for the challenge at Magnolia Down Under #65.  The challenge this week is Flowers and Lace. And the Magnlia Stamp Lovers Challenge which is Lace.

I made a joy-fold card using paper by K & Company, Life's journey.  The flowers are cut from a silk bush I bought at AC Moore.  The lace is from Joann's.  The sentiment is from Cornish Heritage Farms.  Ribbon is from my stash.  The flourish is a Sizzix die.  The oval die on the final page is a new die from Nellie Snellen.  The decorative corners are from a punch by Paper Shapers.  The music background stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Wednesday.  Until later..............

All mounted on a 6x6 yellow card.

We had such a great turn out for our Blog Hop last challenge.  We hope a lot of you will continue to play along with us every two weeks.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Monday.

BSS-Monday Challenge - PUNCH IT OUT

Welcome to the Monday Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Challenge.  Today's challenge is a punched Christmas tree.

You need a heart punch to make the tree.  You can use a star punch or stamp one.  The small square can be cut out if you don't have a punch.  You'll need 19 hearts.  Using the diagram above, glue the wrong side of the hearts UPSIDE DOWN starting with one heart, then two rows of two hearts, two rows of three hearts and two rows of four hearts.

If you want the finished Christmas tree smaller, leave one or two rows off.
I have mounted mine on a 51/2 by 51/2 inch card.  When you have finished gluing them together, turn the entire piece over.  I ran  a sheet of green card stock (cut in four) through a Cuddlebug folder, Swirls, before punching the hearts out.  When I was finished gluing them together, I ran a white cat eye stamp over the embossing.  I added rhinestones for bling.  The cute Santa Miss is by Penny Black. I added glitter to her boots and Fun Flock to the fur parts of her outfit.  The sentiment is by Impression Obsession.

Lots of possibilities for this punched tree, could make them tall and skinny too!

Thanks for stopping by.  Until later..........

BSS - MONDAY CHALLENGE - DISTRESS INKS

Good Monday Morning!  Time for another Buffalo Stamps and Stuff  Monday Challenge.
Today, the challenge is to make a card using distress inks.  I cut the shape from a Tim Holtz die cut. Then using various colors of Ranger distress ink I used the ink blending tool to put color on the die shape, blending one color into the next.  I used sepia archival ink to stamp the grid stamp by Studio 490, Wendy Vecchi's stamp line.  Then using black archival ink, I stamped the tree, by Penny Black.  I used vintage photo to distress the edges of the die cut.  The leaf is cut and embossed using a set from Cuddlebug.  I then used an unmounted stamp with veins to stamp the leaf and again used the blending tool to lay color on the leaf.  The background paper is by Graphic 45. The corners are ticket punched.  I used white Kaiser pearls and colored them with a Copic Marker to match.  The inside sentiment is by Inkadinkado.  The inside leaf border is by Fiskars.

Play with your distress inks this week.  So many possibilities.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great Monday.  Until later...............

HALLOWEEN IN WHITE

Hello.  Busy day yesterday.  Started the day with a class at my local stamp store, Buffalo Stamps and Stuff with a class with Artist, Wendy Vecchi.  She represents Ranger Industries.  The class I took concentrated on different uses for distressed inks.  Had a wonderful time and sat with a great bunch of ladies.  In the afternoon, we celebrated the birthday of our Grandson, who turned 10!

Today's card is for the weekly challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil Two Challenge.  It's challenge #49, Bright White.  Everything on the card must be white except the image.  Great way to highlight her images.

I used this Halloween image with a Sizzix embossing folder, plaid.  The other embossing folder from Cuddlebug, is a spider web, on sparkly white paper.  The spider is a punch.  The pumpkin is from a Cuddlebug embossing folder also.  I colored with Copics and distressed the edges with Distress Inks.  Added the sparkly ribbon for some bling.  The sentiment is by Just for Fun.  I sprayed the image with Sheer Shimmer spray.

I'm so glad you stopped by today for a peek.  Have a great rest of the day.  Until later...............

Pumpkin Cupcake

Hello.  Happy Thursday.  I made this cupcake after making a visit to my local stamp store. A gal that comes in there often had brought some projects in that she had done and a similar cupcake was one of her show and tell items.  We all loved it and she said she got it from a gals web site, but I didn't get the name.  When I got home, I got thinking about it and started playing around and came up with this
little look a like.

I scoured the craft cabinets for supplies.  I used a paper mache box minus lid for the base, a four inch Styrofoam ball for the top.  I glued orange crepe paper around the ball, the rows very close together. I used a low temp glue gun, working a small area at at a time, gathering as I went along.  The card stock that serves as the cup, I just accordion folded in one quarter inches. I traced the bottom of the box and cut a circle a little bit bigger and made slits all around so I could glue it to the bottom and up the edges a bit. I used two 12 inch strips, the width of the box and glued them together before gluing them to the outside of the box.

I inserted a wide empty ribbon spool inside the round box for the decorated ball to rest on, if you got a box and a ball that would sit on top of it, you wouldn't have to do that.  I balled up some red crepe paper and used Papier clear liquid and let it dry overnight and glued it to the top for a cherry.  I stamped and colored the pumpkin for the front and used twine as a ribbon.  When I was all done, I sprayed the entire thing with Sheer Shimmer spray, sparkly.

Turned out cute.  Whatever paper she used, was stiff, mine is more fluffy, but I like it.

Hope you had a great Thursday, Thanks for stopping by.  Until later.............
