Close up of cracked glass technique
Happy Labor Day! And, good Monday morning. Today's card for the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Challenge is the cracked glass technique. There is an excellent tutorial, handwritten instructions and a video at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/cracked_glass/ . But basically, you stamp and color your image. You then use Extra Thick embossing powder to emboss the entire image. You repeat the process at least three times. When the image is completely cooled, carefully bend the image, causing the image to crack. Repeat this until you have the desired amount of cracks. Run a sponge with distress ink over the entire image, the ink will go into the cracks. Then using a paper towel, wipe the image clean, the ink will come off the embossed image.
I used PopCorn the Bear from one of the floral sets. I colored with Copic Markers. Papers and border punch are by Martha Stewart. Pearls by Kaiser and flower is Prima. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.
Hope you will have time to try this technique. Hope the picture of the close up shows the result, hard to photograph.
Have a great Holiday! Thanks for stopping by. Until later..............
