SUNFLOWERS

close up of butterfly

Close up of  Sunflowers

Hi, it's Thursday already.  Have been doing some heavy cleaning, so not much blogging.  So hot and sticky here still, that just running the vac and dusting takes all you have.  I drank so much water today I felt like a beached whale!!!

I used a digi image by Priscilla herself, and she was giving it free on the MMSC site.  I love sunflowers, so when I saw it, I knew I had to get it and do something with it!  I colored with copics and cut out two of the sunflower image.  I used Papier, Glass Finish in the centers and sprinkled a little yellow glitter on top.  When it dries it is slightly raised.  I curled the ends of the leaves upward a little before mounting them.  I made leaves with green card stock that had been embossed using a cuddlebug embossing folder and folded them in half and brushed on a little darker ink for depth.  The papers are by Daisy d.  I used a new sizzix die to mount the flowers on, used distress ink and faux stitches around the edges.  The little butterfly is from Michael's.  The white vinyl swirls are from the sticker dept at Michael's.

Another fun sketch Priscilla, and thanks for the Sunflower digi!

Hope you have a great Thursday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later............

BSS MONDAY CHALLENGE - CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Welcome to the Monday Challenge for Buffalo Stamps and Stuff.  Just couldn't let July end without doing a "Christmas in July" card!

This is a simple, elegant card, mainly due to the beautiful embossing folder.  The Cuttlebug Embossing Plus folder, with the center cutout is the best invention since the embossing folder.  It's 5x7 in size and comes in a clear acrylic folder.  You simply put your paper between the two metal layers and run it through your die cut machine and it cuts and embosses in ONE PASS!  I LOVE THEM!   I stamped the image of the deer, by Inkadinkado onto shimmer blue card stock with clear embossing ink and embossed in white.  Adhered to the back of the embossed piece and adhered that to a 5x7 card.  The snowflake is a cuttlebug die and embossing folder combo.  I cut one out with the shimmer blue and one with glittered white and two with tulle material in shimmery white.  Glued them together in layers and added a blue rhinestone to the center and popped it up on the card.  Added ribbon from my stash and there you have it.

Hope you have a great Monday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later..............

FLOATING BY

Hello, hope you had a great Sunday.  Today was the last day of Rick's two week vacation, back to work tomorrow.  I need to do some major cleaning this week because everything kinda got pushed aside.

Today's card features Magnolia's darling little Tilda floating on the water on a warm summer day.  I'm entering this card in the following challenges,Truly Scrumptious Challenge #37, the sketch, Stamp Something Challenge, something flowery, and Just Magnolia, Vintage.

The designer papers are by The Paper Studio, Marabelle.  The border punch is Martha.   Flowers are pulled from a silk bush (1.00).  I colored the two images with Copic Markers and cut them out.  The sentiment is by Great Impressions.  The little sun is attached to a mini clothespin and I bought a package of assorted ones at Michael's in the wood department.  The fish Charm was a gift.  Rickrack from my stash.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  Thanks for stopping by. Until later.............

This sketch was fun to work with as always, thanks Priscilla!

I fell in love with this adorable image when I did some shopping over at Phindy's Place from a win last week on their challenge blog, thanks Phindy!  Our furry friends are always curious when a new baby enters their world.  The papers are from Me and My Big Ideas, Boy and Nana's Kids by DCWV.  The scalloped punch is from EK Success and the eyelet punch is Martha.  The large flower is punched from a Sizzix die and the small flowers from a punch.  The image is on the Stampin Up die cut, Top Note.  The new baby sentiment is from the dollar bin at Michael's.  A white card made from the Glitter Stack from DCWV is the base.

House Mouse Challenge #74 - THE LETTER "B"

Welcome to another House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge.  Our 74th Challenge was suggested by our teammate, Curt. Make a card or project using a House Mouse, Gruffie, or Happy Hopper and anything that revolves around the letter "B".

I chose to use these adorable Buzzin' Bunny Bees.  I purchased this wooden pinwheel, painted it and then colored the images, cut them out and glued them to each spoke in the pinwheel.  I added some star dust Stickles to their wings.

I made a matching tri-shutter card using the same image on the front and various images and embellishments having to do with bees,  inside.

Won't you get your house mouse stamps out and join us for this fun challenge?  You have until the 1st of August to submit a card.  The prize this challenge is a House Mouse Stamp of your choice, from Simon Says Stamp!!  Be creative, the letter "B" can be anything from the colors you chose (blues, browns, beige, etc) to
baby, bunny, bear.........)

Check out my teamies cards for inspiration over at the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge website, some great cards, you won't be disappointed!!

Thanks for stopping by.  Until later...............

BSS-MONDAY CHALLENGE - TOILET TISSUE ROLL MINI BOOK

Welcome to another Monday, Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Challenge.  Today's challenge is a toilet tissue roll mini book.  Yep, you read that right, a flattened toilet tissue roll makes a perfect pocket for a mini book page, and will hold a tag. Just flatten three rolls, (or as many pages as you want to make) use a bone folder to get a good crease.  Because they can be different sizes, trim them so they are all the same length. I then just covered both sides of each flattened roll with coordinating designer papers (Graphic 45 and Basic Gray).  I then decorated each "page" on both sides with stamps and embellishments.  Each roll holds a tag cut just slightly shorter and narrower than the measurement of the roll.  I stamped and decorated each tag on both sides to go with the page it was tucked into.

When I had completed all the pages, I joined them with a ring at the lower left side.  Decorated the tags and the ring with coordinating ribbons.  I also punched a thumbhole opening in each pocket, which is optional.
You can make the pages up and down as I did or sideways like a book.

There are a lot of  You Tube tutorials on this, just google toilet paper roll book.  Everyone does them just a little different.  When I covered them, I just cut the paper to fit the one side of the tube and then turned it over and did the same on the other side.  Some folks wrapped the paper all the way around.  I used white craft glue to adhere the designer paper.

These little books make nice gifts.  I made this one "Friend Themed".  Kids would love to have one of these all about them.

I have to thank my stampin buddy, Cathy, in Glendale Arizona, for sending me one of these little books and giving me the idea for this one. Thanks Cathy for all the wonderful, creative cards, ideas, and gifts you send my way...xoxo.

Hope you have a chance to make a toilet tissue roll mini book.

Thanks for stopping by  Until later................

Pretty Kitty

Hello.  Happy Sunday.  Hope everyone is keeping cool,  if your experiencing these hot humid days like we are.

I made this card with a free digital image being offered at Crafters Digital Art Center.  There is a link on the right of my blog. There are other digital stamp companies with different challenges too. This beautiful kitty is a digital image by Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps.  The challenge was a color challenge using PINK!  I colored the kitty with Copics.  The background paper is Basic Gray.  I used a spellbinders die to cut the background and the word sentiment.  Ribbon is from Michael's.  Butterfly is from K & Company.  The square doilies are from California Paper Company.

Hope you're enjoying your Sunday.  Tomorrow is a new House Mouse Challenge, and my post for my local stamp store, so it's a two-fer!!

Thanks for stopping by.  Until later..............

Girl with the Swans

It's finally Friday!  Looking forward to the weekend!!

Today's card is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC62). This beautiful stamp is an old one from Stamps Happen.

They sold out a few years ago, and I'm not sure this stamp is still available.

I colored the image with Copic Markers.  The papers are Cosmo Cricket.  The flowers are from a silk bush that I pulled the leaves and flowers from.  I used dark brown and tan twine for the bow.  I bought the little colored tiles at a convention here in Buffalo last year. I loved working with this sketch.

Hope you have a great Friday.  Thanks for stopping by for a look.  Until later..............

Panties and Bra

Close up Panties
Close up Bra
Bikini

Close up Bikini Top

Close up Bikini Bottom

Hello.  It's Monday and that means it's time for the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Challenge.  And Oh what fun this one is  going to be.  These little cards are so much fun to make and I'm sure you are saying to yourself, OMG that would be so much fun to send to..............AND, there are so many things you can add to make them even cuter, like a tattoo, jewelry, etc.

They could not be easier to make,  The pattern template is free and can be found at www.karlum.com/templates.htmIf you look closely, the pattern for the card is the same shape for both the tops and bottoms.  There is only the main card to cut out and one piece for the bottom and two pieces for the top!  Simple and so darling.

For the bra and panties, I used papers from the Linen Closet Stack from DCWV. The lace is from leftovers from something I sewed. The ribbons were purchased pre-made.

For the Bikini, I used papers from Basic Grey, June Bug.  I punched scalloped ovals and pieced sections for the ruffle. Flowers are Prima and rhinestone, Kaiser.

OK, go get the pattern, you know you have someone in mind to send one of these to!!!  Have fun.

Thanks for stopping by.  Until later...............

Walking the Dog

Hello.  My kids have returned home from Disney World, tired and broke.  Megan told me it's very easy to spend all your money there, very quickly (YOU THINK!!).  They are tired, but had a great time.  Rick is on vacation for the next two weeks.  Not going away, but plan on doing some things with friends and around the house.  I haven't mentioned anything about it, but if you follow my blog you know Rick had rotater cuff surgery last year for a torn cuff and was off work for 8 months, went through a lot of rehab treatments, well the surgery failed and the cuff is torn again.  He is going to have surgery again ( a new doctor) and will have the same rehab time again.  So many people have told us since this happened that they know someone that has had this surgery and have had to have it again.  OH YUCK!

Today's card is a digital image by Phindy's Place.  This furry pup reminded me of the blog dog, kinda and I could so see us shielding the dog with the umbrella and us getting wet!!  They have a challenge here each Friday. This week (week 13) they are asking you to "do some embossing".

I printed my image on card stock and immediately dipped it in clear embossing powder and heated it to emboss the image.  I also used the large dots embossing folder and a border embossing folder for the center panel.  The rain and puddle was Stickled with Star Dust.  Flowers were pulled from a silk bunch I bought at the craft store.  Papers are from Basic Gray, Origins.  I used a Stampin Up punch to make the side straps and used a brad and a sequin on the end.  The sentiment is by Penny Black.  The side decorations around the sentiment is a corner punch by Paper Shapers.

Hope you have a great Sunday.  We're going to finally install some patio lights we have had since I got them on clearance last year!!  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later................
