CATCH OF THE DAY

Hi friends, still playing catch up from last week.  Today we worked in the yard and transplanted some
bushes and plants.  Was cooler today, so thought we would take advantage of the weather to do the
heavy work in the yard.  Finally got some plants in the planters and hanging pots, so behind this year!

Today's card is for  the challenge at Just Magnolia #158, and the theme is Gingham.

I have used three different colors of Gingham paper and a Gingham bow.
The Tilda Stamp is new to me, and I love her hair!!  The log, sand and grass stamp is from Great Impressions.  The butterfly die is Cheery Lynn and the flower die is Memory Box.  The little fish are a punch that I have had forever.  I colored with Copic Markers.

Hope you have a great Thursday.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later.....

BSS MONDAY IDEA - MAKE A MAGIC CARD

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.
Today's idea is to make a magic card.
There is a great tutorial at
Here is the magic card closed. The idea is that when closed the image is
black and white.

Here it is partially opening. Like Magic, the image appears in living color!

Here is the card fully opened!
The stamp is from Stampendous, House Mouse, HMKR1057, called
Bug Off. I used bright yellow and green textured card stock. The designer paper is
Basic Gray. Orange Gingham ribbon and Candy dots in orange.
I used a circle die to cute the circle on the front of the card.
I hadn't made a Magic card in years, and forgot how fun they are to give.
Hope you have a go at one.
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great Monday.  Enjoy the first holiday of the summer season.
Please remember those military men and women and their families that make sacrifices everyday, and those that made the ultimate sacrifice for us.
 Until later.............

THE DANCE

Hello.  Did you think I left town.  I can't believe I haven't blogged since last Monday.  My brother in law had major surgery to remove part of his right lung.  We stayed with my sister all day Monday during the surgery and after.  Was a long day and by the time we got home, just wanted a shower and bed.  Good news is he came through the surgery with flying colors, they are pleased with the results and progress he is making.  Today he was transferred to a rehab center to get back on his feet and return home as soon as possible.  We went back and forth everyday this week to the hospital, so no time to blog.  Tonight I just had to color something, I was having withdrawal!!!

Our Granddaughter is having her Ballet Recital tomorrow.

So, I made this card for her.  I have a small necklace with a dancer on it for her.
This is her second year on toe, but she has been dancing for about 6 or 7 years now.
Her Mom, our daughter, danced for 11 years when she was a little girl until she
graduated from High School, so we have been to many recitals and rehearsals!!
But, we are looking forward to tomorrow.

My card is an image from Phindy's Place, called The Big Girl Class.  The circle card is
made with Grand dies from Spellbinders and the Lacey die is Cheery Lynn.
The roses are Prima.

Good to be blogging again.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great Sunday and
Memorial Day Monday in the USA.  Thank a service person for their service and sacrifice, and remember those who gave their lives so we may be free.  Until later...............

BSS MONDAY IDEA - GRADUATION IDEA

WELCOME TO THE BUFFALO STAMPS AND STUFF MONDAY IDEA.
This week I found a great Graduation idea.
(You can click on any picture to enlarge)
This Graduation gift box is made from a square jewelry box, I have used two different sizes.
It's a simple project, and is such a great idea for giving a new Grad a gift of cash or a gift card.

When the box is opened, I stamped white tissue with a Congrats Grad
stamp, and rolled some money and tied it with a knot, like a diploma!
The card is a Penny Black stamp, (Graduates, 3933K) and the inside sentiment
is Wordsworth (Graduation - S345-K)
I kept the card really simple and only used black and white. The lines were drawn
with a Micron Pen and a ruler.
This is a quick and easy project, with big results.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Monday.  Until later........

Awwwwwwww

What a beautiful day today.  Hot, and Sunny.  Got some yard work done, not all of it, could hardly
walk after pulling weeds!  How come weeds grow twice as fast as flowers?

Today's card is for the challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil 2 challenge #135.  The theme this week is a circle card.

This is a brand new digi, by Mo called I HEART YOU.

I made my card with the circle dies for the Grand Calibur.
Colored the image with Copics.
Paper is from The Paper Studio, Blanc Boutique Stack, all are white with Pearl Finishes and embossed, beautiful stack.
The green scalloped piece is a Doily Die from Cheery Lynn, called Sophia's Heart.
The tiny flowers were cut from a die from Cuttlebug.
Star Dust Stickles on the Tutu and the heart balloon.
The circle fit right inside that Cheery Lynn Die!

Hope you have a great Sunday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later.........

TOTO, I DON'T THINK WE'RE IN KANSAS ANYMORE

Going to be a beautiful day here today, temps to 85 degrees.  We need to transplant some things in the yard and do some pond stuff.....Ugh, not a big gardener, but love the flowers.  I have a lot of Forget-Me-Nots in our yard, they spread like crazy.  Somehow, there is a clump of them thriving behind the garage.  Tomorrow I am going to transplant them to a pond basket and put them in the pond.  I had them for years in there and last year the plant died.  They bloom all summer in the pond, and you just clip them down to the dirt in the Fall and drop them to the bottom of the pond and in the Spring bring them back to the top and they come back year after year.

Today's card is for the challenge at Saturated Canary.  The theme for Challenge #17 is May Flowers.

Digi - Saturated Canary, Dorthy and Toto
Spellbinders Classic Grand Ovals
Flowers were punched from punches from the Paper Studio and Martha Stewart.
Then I used the stylus and a sponge pad to shape them.  Centers are punched small dots.
Sizzix die for leaves.  Sentiment is from dollar bin at Michael's.  Border punch is Martha Stewart.  I ran the card through a Cuddlebug embossing folder. Colored with Copic Markers. Red glitter on her bows on her ruby slippers.  Diamond Stickles on the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great weekend. Until later..............

ARE YOU CURED YET?

Hi friends.  Another nice day, a little cool, but the sun was out all day, except for a little shower.

Today's card is for a dear friends Dad who has had a Stem Cell Transplant.  Very scary stuff, and a long recovery.  He is doing well, better than anyone expected, with a recent hiccup having trouble swollowing and eating.  We want to wish him well on his long road to recovery, so I made this cute card, my friend assures me her Dad has a wicked sense of humor!!

A really simple card for mailing.  Image is a Stampin Up stamp.
Papers are from a Reflections Paper pack that I got for Mother's Day from
my daughter along with some other new stamping supplies and a beautiful nighty!
Corners are a Paper Shapers punch.  Border is Martha Stewart.
Colored with Copics.

I wanted to share some happy news with you.  If you follow my blog, you know that in January we lost our precious Keeshond (our little Dutch girl), Keeley.  We have decided to get a puppy, and began our search for a breeder.  This breed is hard to find in our area, so it took some time to find
someone.  We were placed on a waiting list for the next available puppy, and on Monday night we received a call that our puppy has been born.  We are expecting to receive pictures of the
litter in the mail in the next couple of days!  We are very excited and can't wait to get this
new fur baby.  We haven't had a puppy in so many years, I just hope that this old couple
is up to this young one, but we sure are looking forward to having an animal in the house again, we have sorely missed our girl. Will share the pictures from the breeder with you when we get them!

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great Thursday.  Until later...........

BLUE HERON

Hello friends, happy Tuesday.  The days just seem to fly by.  My brother-in-law is waiting to have surgery and it was supposed to happen yesterday, but it was cancelled due to miscommunications between Doctors..............Ugh.  We were all set for this to finally happen, especially my BIL
and now it is rescheduled for next Monday.

I have been one lucky girl lately.  I won the $ 50 spending spree at OOzak from the Color Me Creative Classroom bi-monthly challenge.  And last week, I won a $ 20 shopping trip to Repeat Impressions, from my fellow blogging buddy, Patti J.  So, I have been shopping in my underwear and it has been fun!

When I was planning this card out, I was rummaging through the drawers that have my scene stamps and came across the Heron.  As some of you know, I had a visit from a Heron a couple of weeks back.  He ate two of my fish, and would have ate them all if something hadn't scared him off.  You have to admit they are one big beautifuly bird, but not in my city backyard at my little pond!

Today's card is for the challenge at Craft A Scene.  It's a monthly challenge and the theme for May is Spring flowers.

I stamped all the elements onto white glossy paper in black ink.
The Heron was stamped onto another piece, then cut in an oval, matted in black, then popped up over the main scene. I colored with Marvey Matchables and distress inks using a sponge applicator by Ranger, and Tombow water based markers.  The inside sentiment is by Repeat Impressions.  The flower border is a Memory Box die.  All of the stamps in the scene with the exception of the bird are Stampscapes. The label die is from Spellbinders.

Hope you have a great Tuesday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later.............

FARM FRESH

Hi friends.  Have been trying to reorganize and clean up the craft room, but seems a daunting task and just not enough room for everything, somethings are going to have to go.  Would also help if I could just stop buying more.............I think it's hopeless..........

Another beautiful day today.  Did get a downpour while we were at a concert at our Grandson's school, but over with by the time we came out.

Today's card is for the challenge at Penny Black and Friends Saturday, and it's their 200th challenge!
The theme this time is a case challenge of a card made by one of their teammates.  I chose to use the pastel colors and make a pink card.

It's a pretty simple card.  I used the beautiful Penny Black stamp.
The punch around the page is by Martha Stewart.
Little flowers were made with The Paper Studio small punches. The greens
around the small flowers are punches by Martha Stewart.

HOUSE MOUSE AND FRIENDS MONDAY CHALLENGE # 119

Hi friends, time for  Challenge #119 at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge.

Before we get started, just want to thank everyone who took part in our last challenge. Lots of beautiful cards/projects, and we loved checking out what you came up with!

Our challenge theme this time is HUMOR, and was so approprietly chosen by
our cheeky teammate, "Scoopy", aka Sue Cooper. She keeps us laughing with her antics!

This should be easy, as these mice, bears and bunnies are always up to something and it's usually funny.

See what I mean.  The simple act of Spring planting turns into
a comedy act by these two Gruffies!!

My card recipe:
Stamp - House Mouse Design
Die - Spellbinders
Flowers - Prima
Pearls - Kaiser
Butterfly die - Whinsy
Bazzill cardstock in tan and blue
Gingham Ribbon
Star Dust Stickles on flowers

Our generous sponsor for this challenge is:

Simon Says Stamp has graciously offered a $25 gift certificate to their online store.
And, they recently celebrated their 10 year birthday,  So happy birthday, and thank you for your continued support.

OK, so check out the inspiration at the challenge blog site by my very talented and funny teammates.  Lots of funny cards this challenge. Two new guest designers too.  Can't wait to see what you come up with!

BSS MONDAY IDEA - SHAPED CARDS

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

Today's I have a couple of cute shaped cards for you. I love shaped cards, so much fun to create and give.

The free template for this card can be found at:
I used papers from 2 -6x6 paper stacks, Annalee Collection, by Prima
and Miss Caroline, Howdy Doody. The butterfly and heart punches are by Martha Stewart.
Flowers by Prima, Pearls by Kaiser. I put black behind the openings in
the letters for depth. I outlines each letter with Stickles, Star Dust.
Great card, for Mother's Day, or for anyone in need of a hug, and who isn't?

For this little birdhouse card, I just cut my own pattern.
For something similar, there is a free template here:
After I was happy with the simple shape, I cut two, pieces,
one from designer paper and the other from white card stock.
On the white card stock, I scored across the top about 1 1/2 ".
Fold the score back. Apply adhesive to the white card stock
above the score line and adhere the designer paper to the white card stock piece.
This will allow you to be able to open the card. I cut two pieces 1/2 inch
to form the roof.
Papers I used are from the same two pads I used for the Hug card above.
The little Birds are from a Cling set from Inkadinkado, Birds (60-60033).
Leaves are a Sizzix die, Branch w/leaves (656367) Flowers are Prima.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you saw something you liked.  Until later..........

BLEEDING HEARTS

Hi, hope your Friday was a good one!  We had a warm sunny day, but didn't get out and get the patio cleaned up, maybe tomorrow.  Got caught up on doing some Genealogy, spent hours on Ancestry, and didn't find one thing that I didn't already know, have hit a dead end and guess I have to put it away until I can think of where to go from here.

Today's card is for the challenge at Totally Papercrafts Challenge #115 - White on White

I colored the image of the Bleeding Hearts (Purple Daisy Designs) with Copics.
Then I used two sided adhesive sheets and micro beads to cover it.
It's hard to see in the picture, but in real life it looks cool.

I cut three different size  frames with a Spellbinders Label die and embossed them with different
embossing folders.  I adhered them together and popped them up using foam tape.
A punch was used to punch three elongated hearts and finished with a
white satin bow.

I'm also going to pop this into the Deep Ocean Challenge #24 - Use Punches and Dies

Hope you have a great weekend.  They are talking about the moon being 30% bigger and
brighter than usual tomorrow night, they are calling it a "Super Moon", hoping to see it
and take some pictures.

Have a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for stopping by. Until later..........
