BSS IDEA - On the Wings of a Dove

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Idea.

Hi stamping friends.  Hope you're keeping warm and cozy. A little snow and cold temps this weekend made for a craft room marathon.  Caught up with some cards and some organizing.

I bought this week's stamp on my last visit to the store, and when I was looking it
over to purchase, I thought it would be perfect to make a card for a friend
who is going through some serious health issues right now.  It was colored up
in pink and reds in the store with the Valentines.  I love stamps that can be used
for multiple purposes, don't you.

So, here is what I did with this stamp.

The finished card.

Stamp - Pink Ink, Wings of Love (7101G)
Paper -Brown, White, and Dark Green Card stock
Designer Paper Kaiser Craft, Always and Forever Collection
Admire P2093
WOW Clear Sparkle Emobssing Glitter (WS 15R)
Green Twine Bow
Colored with Copic Markers

I colored the stamped image with colors that matched
the designer paper I chose.
I cute the colored image out, stamped with a clear ink pad
all over, then added WOW clear, sparkle Embossing
Glitter and heated for all over sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day.  Until later.....

HUG A HEART CARD DRIVE 2017

Hello Friends, I am participating in an upcoming blog hop, for a card drive for children with serious heart problems.  If everyone who sees this post, makes one card and sends it to the Blog coordinator, Christina Hor, address below, this drive will be such a wonderful success.  Please read through the details supplied by Christina, and watch for the Blog Hop Post here on February 1st.

PURPOSE OF THE CARD DRIVE:
The purpose of this card drive, which runs from 1/16/17 to 2/14/17, is to help collect handmade heart theme cards (non-Valentine’s Day) such as Thinking of You, Hello or Just Because cards for many of the Heart Center patients at Nationwide Children’s Hospital during February’s American Heart Month. Each card you make will bring heartwarming encouragement to all who are affected by heart disease – patients, families, and hospital staff.
Congenital heart disease (CHD) is the most common birth defect and results in sometimes very complex disease that require multiple surgery and prolonged hospitalization. The advance in medical care and surgical techniques have improved survival for many of these patients who are born with various forms of congenital heart disease. However, for some congenital heart disease there is no cure and only palliative procedures are able to be perform which though imperfect gives the patients a chance at life. The success of treatment for patients with congenital heart disease has allowed many to become adults. Despite the success, many patients still require many medications, procedures and revisions improve the prior repair. For some patients, the only option is to undergo a heart transplant. Although Heart Month which is occurs in February focuses on important adult onset disease such as heart attacks and stroke, it is a particularly important month for patients with congenital heart disease as they are also at risk of developing these same disease like any one of us. However, given their congenital heart disease the risk of having an additional acquired heart disease makes it even more important for these patients. We hope that the Hug a Heart Card Drive can give these patients some heart-warming messages.” – Dr. Kan N. Hor (Pediatric Cardiologist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital).
Our Hug a Heart Card Drive continues through February 14, 2017.  Anyone is welcome to help make the cards, including young children and grandchildren.

BSS IDEA - Sympathy Card

Hello, and welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Idea.

This week, I am featuring a sympathy card.  Probably one of the hardest
cards to make, yet we all need them at one time or another.

I also wanted to show you that there is more than one way to use a stamp.

This is the stamp I used.

And this is the gate-fold sympathy card I made with it.

The inside

Stamp - Those we Love (CRR265) Stampendous
Inside Sentiment - Hero Arts (1997)
Die (inside) Spellbinders
Designer Paper inside -Graphic 45
Colored with Copic Markers

These beautiful stamps are made to cover the front of a card.
I wanted to make a Gate-Fold card, so I cut the stamp into two
separate pieces along the left side of the words, after coloring it up.
Matted the two pieces and attached.
Small hearts are from a punch and placed on the side of the opening
alternating sides.adhering only one side of the heart, so card
is able to open freely.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.  Until later.

BSS IDEA - Envelope Card

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Idea

While searching for a pattern for something else online, I found
this wonderful Envelope Card.  It is easy to make, takes
about 10 minutes to make and then whatever time it takes you
to decorate it to your liking.

The one I am showing you today was made with a
10 inch square of double sided card stock.  You can make
one with any size square piece of double sided card stock.
the smaller the square, the smaller the envelope card.
I have inserted a Hershey Bar into mine for Valentines Day.

Here  is a link for a video that shows you how this goes together

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ny9jfp1akg8&feature=youtu.be

The front of the card.

The back of the card

The card opened

Paper - Old sheet of My Mines Eye double sided card stock
Heart is - Memory Box Die
Back of card hearts - Martha Stewart Border Punch
Red Glitter Paper
Velcro for closure
Small white lace glued on edge on front
Slim Red Ribbon

You could easily make four of these in a half an hour, then
decorate them.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.  Until later........

BSS IDEA

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Idea.

Happy New Year.

Well the Christmas Season has come to an end and
now it's time to take all the decorations down
and get back to some regular stamp time,

This week, I have made a floating image card.

See how the snowflake and the butterfly
seem to be floating in the middle of the circle.

The card closed

Changed the background to try to get a better picture.

Supplies

A 5"x5 1/2" card base
An additional piece of 5"x51/2" card stock front
Circle die - Spellbinders
Snowflake die-Bianca Snowflake 98193 - Memory Box
butterfly die-Lunette Butterfly -98745 - Memory Box
Inside designer paper- Scrap from my Stash
Inside Sentiment - " A snowflake is winter's Butterfly-
Hero Arts (old)
1/2" x 5 1/2 inch piece of clear craft plastic, or if you
don't have any use a piece of plastic from packaging.

How to:

Cut the card base and the extra piece for the front.
Open the card up, place the extra piece on the card front
place on your die cut machine with circle die
centered on top of the front and the extra piece and cut.

Emboss the extra piece of card stock with the circle cut if desired
.Adhere the 1/2 inch piece of  clear plastic to the center of the
circle on the front of the card at the top and bottom.
Adhere the embossed extra front over the front of the card.
Adhere the die cut you want to add to the card onto the
piece of clear plastic.
Add designer paper to the inside and a small sentiment
either at the top or bottom of the inside so it won't show
through the cut out circle.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day.  Until later....
