BABY TEDDY BEA

Hello.  Worked all day today on different project in the works.  I am behind!  Only two more weeks until tax season ends.............YEAH!

I found  a  new digi passion.  The Teddy Bo and Bea digi's.  These little bears are new to me, just
happened on them on someone's blog and fell in love, so went looking for them.  They are by a UK Artist, and I do hate that high exchange rate, but wanted some anyway!  So, you will be seeing more of them down the road because I just could not choose.

I'm entering this card of Teddy Bea Baby into the Teddy Bo Challenge Blog.  The challenge this week is buttons and bows and runs throught April 3.

Isn't she precious?  The pair always have their little woolen hat on, even if they have another hat on!

I colored her with Copics.  I used a Spellbinders die to cut her out.  Papers are from the DCWV Linen Closet Stack (one of my favs).  I ran the peach colored cardstock through the swiss dot cuddlebug folder.
Buttons are from Doodlebug Designs.  The corners are a punch from Paper Shapers. The border lace is Martha Stewart.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Almost the weekend, YAHOO!  Until later..............

HOUSE MOUSE AND FRIENDS MONDAY CHALLENGE #92

Welcome to
The House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge # 92

The Challenge this time is a sketch by our multi-talented, Scoopy Sue.
You can see the sketch at the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge blog

Aw, what a good friend this little mouse is!  I colored with Copics and sponged the ground and clouds with distress inks.  I decided to grunge up my card by distressing all the cardstock and designer paper edges.  I cut a small paper doily in half and stuck it on either end.  The flowers are Prima, folded in four and a little color added with a Copic Marker.  The leaves are a die cut by Sizzix.  The sentiment is by Inky Antics.
I sprayed the entire card with a mix of gold Perfect Pearls and water from a mini mister.  Click on the pictures to see the cool gold goodness!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Di's Digi Downloads.  The Prize, 3 Digi's!  A big thank you to them for their generous offer.

We would like to thank Dorte and Jennifer for the beautiful cards they contributed to our March Challenges as Guest Design Team Members.

Please go see the design team cards for this challenge, you won't be disappointed, then get your House Mouse, Happy Hoppers or Gruffies out and make a card a join the fun.

The challenge runs through April 10th.

BSS-MONDAY IDEA - MAKE A SCALLOPED CARD

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

The idea for today is to make a card using any shaped pattern or a die cut (I used a Nestibilities die by Spellbinders) to make a scalloped square card.

Cut two shapes, I used the scalloped square,  from card stock.  On the piece that you will use for the back of the card, score about 1/2 inch  down straight across the card.  Put adhesive on the scored section then line up the back with the front and adhere them together.  This will allow the card to open freely without any marks on the front of the card.

I used papers from the Linen Closet stack by DCWC.  The Penny Black image is a new Slapstick cling mounted stamp. I colored with Copic Markers. I stamped on a labels die from Spellbinders and matted with a lighter blue.  Flowers were punched from a small flower punch with a rhinestone center.  The bow was made from a larger bow on a present I received, and I  recycled.

You can used this technique for any Nesitbilities die.  Ovals, circles, squares, labels, the choices are limitless.

Hope you have a chance to try this technique.

I am entering this card in the challenge at Penny Black and Friends Saturday Challenge #144
The challenge is to used something that is recycled.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great start to the week.  Until later...............

Have a great rest of the day and weekend!  Thanks as always for stopping by.  Until later...........

I just bought this image the other day, love it.  Do you love the hips and thighs?  And her party hat too, what a woman!!

I colored her with Copic markers.  Used a lot of glitter in red and white.  Papers are from my stash.  Corner punch is from Paper Shapers.  The frame is a Spellbinders die.  The border punch is EK Success.  Added heart rhinestones to the corners.

Do you love this gal or what??

The party hat is a punch also!

HOT HOT HOT

Hi, hope your Tuesday is getting off to a good start.  I'm working today, but set this up on blogger to post.
Can you say Fabulous?  This is a digi from Digital Pencil 2, a Mo Manning creation.

Pretty simple, I colored her with Copics.  I chalked the sand, sea and sky.  The die cuts are Spellbinders Grandes.  The little seashells are stickers from K & Company.  The flower is Prima, the center being a punch.  The sentiment is from the dollar bin at Michael's.

Don't you just love the umbrella in her drink.  And, I just had to make the bikini an itsy bitsy, teeny weeny yellow polk-a-dot bikini!

Have a great Tuesday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later..............

BSS MONDAY IDEA - DECORATED APERTURE

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

Today's idea is to make a card with an Aperture (opening/hole) and decorate around
the opening you have created.  So, your stamped image is going to be inside your card.

This is a beautiful stamp from Northwoods Rubber Stamps.
Colored with Copics.

I used a 5x7 white card.  I cute a scalloped circle in the card and
a piece of designer paper (Bunny Love 6x6 stack).  I cut the designer paper to 5" wide.
Then I centered it on the front of the card and cut the die for both the card and the
designer paper at the same time, so that the opening is in the same place on the front of the card. The bunny punch at the bottom of the card is Martha Stewart.

Now for the fun.  I pulled a bunch of punches and Sizzix dies out and punched swirls, flowers, branches and leaves out of white and pink paper.  Then, I glued them around the Aperture opening in a pleasing design.
Be sure that you only glue small areas and they don't go over the edge of the cut out.  This is so much fun, and it is hard to stop once you get started decorating.  It adds such a lovely softness to the opening.

Hope you get a chance to try this technique.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later.....

SWEETEST BLESSING

Hello, hope you're having a great weekend.  This beautiful image is a digi from Sugar Nellie.

I'm absolutely in love with these images.  I colored with Copic Markers.
The oval is a Spellbinders oval die.  The papers are all from the Me and My Big Ideas Baby Boy stack.
I used a square doily that I bought on ebay.  The flowers are made from a punch of a six petal flower.  I folded each petal in half both ways and made it like a bowl.  The centers are from another punch and I added some sparkle with Stickles.  The branch is a punch from Martha Stewart.  The sentiment is
from Savvy Stamps.

I'm entering this card in the challenge at Stamp Something, and the theme this week is "something sweet"

Just a quick note, Keeley continues to return to her "OLD" self.  She is eating, walking better and
even barked for the first time on Saturday since she became suddenly ill.  We are so grateful that she is improving, we thought she had had a stroke.  Thanks for your emails and comments regarding concern for
our beautiful furry companion.

Have a great rest of the day.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later..........

New Friends

Hello, long week, so far!  Monday night at dinner time, the blog dog became suddenly disoriented and unable to stand up.  She had just been outside to greet Rick when he got home from work and was fine.  We quickly called the Vet, which is right around the corner from our home.  The good news is, it is a condition that is like Vertigo in humans that affects Senior dogs.  It comes on instantly and she had all the classic symptoms.  Two days out, she is improving and returning to herself, but some scary moments at times.  Poor  Keeley girl.  We are still carrying her in and out as the stairs she can't do yet.  Hoping for a full recovery in 7-10 days.  In the process of carrying her in and out, my back is bothering me, so we have been having some quiet time together the past two days!

Just a reminder that the Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge for March is at the midway point.  Plenty of time to submit a card.  This month's challenge is a beautiful sketch by Ingrid, and we are being sponsored by Whiff of Joy.

New Friends....a rubber stamp by Northwoods Rubber Stamps.

Colored this darling image with Copics and watercolored the background.  Flowers by Prima.  Sentiment is a stick on by K and Company.  The papers are DCWV.  Martha Stewart border punch.

Take a look at the samples by the design team and the sketch at the Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge  site.  Then, join the fun and submit a card using the sketch and an animal as the focal point of your card/project!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later..............

HOUSE MOUSE AND FRIENDS MONDAY CHALLENGE #91

Welcome to the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #91.

The theme for the challenge is "Spring Time" chosen by our fabulously talented teammate, Mary!
Mary is taking some time to make a big move right now and we wish her well.

We are also welcoming two new Guest Design Team Members for the month of March.

Dorte and Jennifer Woodward

Welcome ladies, we are very excited to have you designing with us, and can't wait to see what you come up with.

Our sponsor this challenge is Simon Says Stamp and the prize is a $ 15 gift card for a shopping spree at their online store.

What says Spring more than the birds returning?  Well look what they found "fat and happy" inside their bird feeder!

Is this image too cute?  I made a circle card using my new Grand Nestibilitiies on my new Grand Calibre machine from Spellbinders.  Colored the scene with Copics, cut one bird out and raised him up.  Sponged the background.  Punched little hearts to fit into the scallops around the edge of the main card.  Added a butterfly charm and a little bird stick pin.

Hope you have time to visit us at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge to see the beautiful design team creations, you won't be disappointed!

Ink up a house mouse, gruffie or happy hopper and join us won't you.  We would love to come visit

BSS MONDAY IDEA - THINK OUTSIDE THE OVAL

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

Good Monday Morning!  The idea for today is to "think outside the box, in this case the oval.
I used the musical clef from the Hero Arts Clings set. (a two stamp set, the music background also is in this set)

on how to achieve the image appearing outside of the die cut.

This is the completed card.  I ran a piece of black card stock through an embossing folder and mounted it on a piece of red card stock on a white card.  I stamped the background music stamp several times and cut it out of the scalloped oval nestie.  I stamped and embossed the musical clef in Versafine Onyz and clear embossing powder.  I then used this technique to die cut the oval, leaving the top of the clef  sticking out above the oval.  Leaving the die cut in place after cutting, I sponged Barn Door distress ink over the inside, which leaves the outer edge white.

Here's a close up of the ovals.

This close up shows the top of the clef outside the oval.

The sentiment is by Hampton Art Stamps.  The inside of the card finishes the sentiment, which says, "and sings it to you when you forget the words"

Hope you have time to try this technique with your die cuts.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Monday.  Until later..............

IRISH LASSY

Hello, hope you had a great weekend.  I'm posting this card late today, but
was working on other cards for tomorrow,  this weekend.

Today's card is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  The challenge this week is GREEN.

I love this darling little Lassy!

I made a tri-fold card using gingham and green papers from my stash.  The image is cut from a scalloped oval nestie die.  The daisy is from K&Company, the shamrocks are silk from the craft store.  The border punch is a Martha Stewart.  I faux stitched around the edges.  I colored with Copics.  The base card is made from cream textured card stock.

Here is the card open.  The sentiment is a dollar stamp from Michael's.

I'm also entering this card in the Stamp Something challenge this week, which is green and cream.

Thanks for taking a peek.  Until later................

HERE.........WANT ONE???

Hi, it's finally Friday!  More light snow today, but guess I will stop complaining about the weather.  Watched with horror this morning as the first pictures of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan were flashed across the screen.  And the possible melt down of a reactor at a Nuclear power plant..........scary.

But I did notice when I let Keeley out this morning that under the light snow were some brand new green shoots from a Day Lilly I have planted in the yard.........there's hope for Spring!

Today's card is for the challenge at Sassy Cheryls.  This week, the challenge theme is Pink and White.

Last week, they had a blog hop at Sassy Cheryls and I participated and entered a card in the challenge.  I was the very lucky winner of a $ 25 gift certificate to shop at the Sassy Cheryl digi image store.  Well, I got a cup of tea and sat back and browsed through the store and finally made my picks.  I got a total of 10 images in all, and can't wait to share them with you all on cards!  A huge "Thanks" to Cheryl for this wonderful prize and to all her design team gals for their very kind comments on my blog!

Close up of this adorable pair!

Papers are by My Mind's Eye.  I colored with Copics.  Stamped the background with a small flower cluster, hoping to create a wallpaper feel.  Martha Stewart border punches.  Felt bunny is from Michael's. Pink organdy ribbon with gold trim is from my stash.  Image is on a Nestie label die cut.

Hope you have something fun planned for the weekend, or some time set aside to create.  Have a good one.  Until later................

PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET

Hello.  Haven't posted since Monday!  Finding that working two days is putting a big dent in my craft time!  Not to mention that I'm too tired to even go in the stamp room when I get done with dinner.  The curse of old age!  It has rained here now for so many days in a row.  The sump pump is running almost continuously and the yard is flooded with large pools of water.  The pond is full to the top with a giant ice berg floating around in it!  AH....Spring!

Today's card is for the challenge at Penny Black and Friends Saturday Challenge.(141)
The challenge this week is multi-folds.    I have used this beautiful  Penny Black slapstick stamp of the
Easter basket with the flowers and eggs.  Papers are from DCWV.  The bunny border stamp is from the dollar bin at Michael's, as well as the pearls.

The little yellow chick is from Michael's also and has bunnies as well made from felt and self-stick backing.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great rest of the evening.  Until later......

BSS MONDAY IDEA - COULD YOU REPEAT THAT PLEASE

Good Monday Morning and Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

Today's card idea is to use the same stamp and repeat images from the main image in
clusters on the card.  I used this stamp from Inkadinkado.  I stamped it twice.  Colored one with Copic Markers.  Cut it out using a Nesties die cut and a blue mat with the next size die.
I colored just the birds with Copics on the second stamped image and punched them out using a small circle stamp and mounted them on a punched label shape from Paper Shapers.

I used Vintage Photo distress ink to sponge the edges of the images and Star Dust Stickles.  Papers are
from g.c.d. Studios, Ella Blue. I ran a brown card stock die cut circle through a Cuttlebug folder to emboss and folded it in half and mounted it on the front section of the card.

Blue Kaiser rhinestones on the corners and a bow with ribbon from my stash finishes it off.
I love the how the side panel of birds ties into the main image.  Hope you have a chance to try this technique.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a good start to the week.  Until later..............
