BE MERRY

Hello friends, to all of you that are in the worst of the devastation from Hurricane Sandy, our hearts go out to you and your families.  I had a phone call this morning from my friend who moved to Long Island to be near her only son, and they had to evacuate and leave their home on Sunday.  They returned today to find everything ok.  Her son had purchased a $70 pump and installed it in a crawl space to remove incoming water and because they didn't lose power, the pump did the job.  Was so happy for them.

We didn't get the high winds, but it did rain very hard and long.  Everything is water logged, but compared to the damage in the states most affected, it was nothing.

My card today is for the challenge at Saturated Canary #29 - theme, A Shaped Card.

Krista has come out with a line of rubber stamps.  I got this one at my LSS.
They are totally unmounted (I like Cling Mount) and I thought pricey.  But, that said, she is a beautiful stamp.

Stamp - Saturated Canary
Lacey Oval Die - Spellbinders
Tree die - Paper Tray Ink
Snowflake punch
Label die for card shape - Spellbinders
Paper - Red card stock, Basic Gray Wassail
Red satin ribbon
Paper lace.
Colored with Copics

Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later..............

BSS MONDAY IDEA - Box-in-a-bag

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.
Today's idea is called a box-in-a-bag.
Your going to love this little container. I decorated it for Halloween, because I am
still getting some goodies ready for some special little friends, but you could use
this idea for any occasion.
Found this on Split Coast Stampers here:
The container went together in about 20 minutes.
Stamp - Art Impressions (Monster-Tots UMT3615)
Paper - My Minds Eye
Colored with Copics
Pumpkin is a Papershapers punch
Organza Ribbon
I made the tabs as the instruction indicated, but you could
make it without them and just put the rivets into the top of
the container to put the ribbon through.
Have a great Halloween.
Trick or Treat.
Thanks for stopping by.

MOUNTAIN SPLENDER

Hello friends, all of the weather forecasts for the East Coast are so scarey!  We are on the West end of the State of New York and they are warning of high winds and rains, which could cause flooding, early in the week due to Sandy.  Hoping everyone in those states most affected are as prepared as you can be and that by some miracle it is not as bad as the forecast says it will be.

My card tonight is for the challenge at Craft a Scene. This month, (and I am sqeeking in late in the month) the theme is Majestic Mountains.

All Stamps are Stampscapes

I love this beautiful Mountain with the wonderful falls.

All inks are Marvey Matchables.  I used the Colorbox sponge tool to apply ink. Touched up
the white areas and dotted highlites with a Shapie Poster  Paint White Water based Marker.
Used white glossy paper.  Leaf is a die from the Impression Obsession, small leaf die set.

This is my finished card. The original is actually darker tones, but
the light bouncing off the glossy paper it's hard to get a good camera shot.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope your weekend was great.  Until later...

It's Your Day

H friends!  Was 75 degrees here today, like summer.  Beautiful fall day.  Most of the leaves have fallen and the colors are spectacular.  Fall isn't long enough in my book!

I made this card for a very good friend's birthday.  He was in the military  and stationed at the
same Army base that my hubby and I went to after Viet Nam. We have remained friends all these years.  He is actually a fitness buff and keeps himself in great shape, but he is a farm boy at heart and still goes to his Mom's house (she is widowed) in Texas every morning to have breakfast with her (with his wife's blessing).  I'm hoping he finds this card as funny as we did.

The image is from Squigglefly.  The paper is DCWV.
The sentiment both inside and out came with the Digi.
Fish are a small punch.  It's Your Day Stamp is from the dollar
bin at Michael's.  Colored with Copics.

Inside sentiment.

I added the Happy Birthday Stamp.
Hope everyone is enjoying their week.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later..........

THE RAVEN

Hi friends.  Raining hard here today and gloomy, good day to spend in the craft room (and do laundry).

I got this beautiful wood mounted stamp from Stampendous from Michael's and I got to use a 40% off coupon!  Yea!  I also saw it in Cling form at my local stamp store.

I stamped the image with Versafine Black Onyx and used sparkly black
embossing powder.  Paper is DCWV, Fall Melody.  Matted the image with black card stock that I had distressed the edges on.  Ran the punched corners through a fancy embossing folder.  Little tear drop
shaped stick-on's are from dollar bin at Joann's.  That's it, easy peasy and such a wonderful stamp!

I am entering this card in the Quoth the Raven, Nevermore Challenge, Quest 14, Anything Poes

Have a great Tuesday.  Thanks so much for your visit today.  Until later............

BSS Monday Idea - Faux Embossing

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.
Today's idea is Faux Embossing.

I started with a card base of Kraft paper. Using the Impression
Obsession die-Small Leaves, I cut out the leaves three times with
the same Kraft paper. Then, glue the leaves randomly on the front of the card.
Used Faded Burlap distress ink around the edge before decorating.
Paper is Memory Box, Blackbird 6x6 stack.
Stamps - Bold Pumpkin (F5461) Hero Arts
Sentiment - Art Gone Wild (D72364)
Green leaf is from the same Impression Obsession die.

This is the card opened. Liner is orange text weight paper.
Using the EK Success leaf border punch and the same paper as
on the front of the card, punched border for both layers.

Card opened to inside.
Sentiment - Inkadinkado (95787-N)

Love the look of the Faux Embossing. Hope you have a chance to try it.
Use a small circle punch and make polka dot background. Try different color papers.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day.  Until later............

PUPPY LOVE

It's finally FRIDAY! Bet everyone is looking forward to the weekend.  Supposed to have some nice moderate temperatures with a little rain mixed in here in Western New York.  Leaves are falling.  Raked them for the first leaf pickup and the ground is covered again already.  Squirrels are busy getting the Horse Chestnuts and burying them.  Fall is definitely in the air.

Today's card is for the challenge at Color Me Creative Classroom.  The challenge this time is "A touch of Red".  The Challenge runs through October 26th and the prizes are fantastic.  I was fortunate to have won the challenge a few months ago and had a wonderful shopping spree at OOZAK.com.
You must use alcohol ink markers or colored pencils to enter the challenge.

I chose this digi image from Squigglefly by Artist Lynne Stansbery. I cannot get enough of
these beautiful digital images by this artist, they are so well drawn, they color up so beautifully.
The paper is DCWV, the Natural Stack.  The sentiment and dog
foot prints are from a large set of clear stamps by Cloud 9 called simple thoughts - Dog.
Heart charm was a gift from my friend, America, thanks so much.
Really simple card, but do those eye have it or what!!!

Hope your Friday is great.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later..........

Little Pirate

Hi Friends, hope your Thursday is going well.  Don't know where the time goes, but the days just fly by.  Maybe it has something to do with a the puppy, she needs a lot of attention and love.

Today's card is for the October challenge at Penny Black and Friends Saturday Challenge. This month it's a sketch.
Here is my take on the challenge.

I chose to use this darling Cling Stamp by Penny Black, Pirate Kai (Artist Mo Manning)
Papers are My Minds Eye.  Spellbinders circle die.  Used distress ink Wild Honey around the inside of the circle (left the die on while I did the distress ink so the border stayed white)
Colored with Copics.  Small pumpkins are a punch with yellow circles on the back.  Orange ribbon is from Michael's.  The bat border is ribbon by Ofray from A C Moore.

I'm trying to get enough Halloween cards for all my little friends made before the big day.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Enjoy the rest of your day.  Until later............

BSS MONDAY IDEA-Spiral Pop-Up Card

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea
Today's idea is a Spiral Pop-Up Card. I found this Tutorial on Split Coast Stampers

to background.
Do try this technique, so darn cute and easy.
