BSS MONDAY IDEA - MAKE A TENT CARD

Welcome to the Monday Morning Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.  Today's idea is to make a Tent Card.  There is a great tutorial and video at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/tentcard/.

The papers I used are Graphic 45.  The stamped image is by Northwoods Rubber Stamps.  The tag is cut from the Cuddlebug tag embossing plus die.  The snowflakes are a punch by Martha Stewart with a rhinestone square in the center by Kaiser.  The deer is a die cut from the Cricut, Winter Woodland cartridge.

This is a fun card to put together and simple to make.  Hope you have a change to try a Tent Card.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later.........................

THE LITTLE MATCH GIRL

Hello, hope everyone is finishing up their Christmas preparations and going to be able to relax and enjoy the holiday.  I baked and cooked myself into a frenzy today, but most of the work is done.  Looking forward to having my family in tomorrow night.

I made this card for a challenge at my local stamp store.  I actually made 25 of them.  Now if you know me at all, I hate making even two of anything exactly the same, so making 25 of these was a nightmare!  How I got talked into it in the first place is beyond me, but I like how they turned out.  The green panel is stamped with a pine bough stamp in dark green around the edge.  I cut the red gingham from the top note die from Stampin Up.  The little girl image is a Stamps Happens image, colored with Copics.  The sentiment stamp is a Mary Englebreit.  Ribbon was purchased at Michael's

HOUSE MOUSE MONDAY CHALLENGE - APERTURE

Good Monday Morning.  Time for another House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge!
The challenge this time is to make a card or project with an Aperture.  An Aperture is an opening, such as a hole, gap or slit. The theme for this challenge was suggested by our teammate, Chirstine.

Here is a picture of the Aperture I created on my design team card.

I used this sweet image, which was a gift from our team leader, America, thanks friend!

Here is my completed card.  I colored with Copics. Sponged the edge.  Papers are by
My Mind's Eye and the music is by Echo Park.  The flowers and leaves are by Prima.  I used gold dew drops in the center of the flowers and on the corners.  I used a white Sharpe Paint Pen to add snow to the little scene.

This is what it looks like when you open the card!

Hope you will have a chance to join us this challenge.  For some other examples of Aperture, visit the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge site to see the wonderful cards the design team came up with. There is also a prize of a House Mouse Stamp.
The challenge begins today and ends January 2, 2011!

BSS MONDAY IDEA - RESIST TECHNIQUE

Good Monday Morning and welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.  Today's idea is to make a card using the resist technique.

Close up of image.

On a sheet of smooth white card stock stamp the sentiment with Versafine ink and heat emboss gold embossing powder over it.  Stamp a solid stamp (Angel by Inkadinkado) with Versafine ink and heat emboss clear embossing powder.  Brayer color of your choice(I used distress ink, broken china) over the entire image and sentiment.  When you're satisfied with the color, use a paper towel to wipe the image and sentiment to remove any color.  I used a spellbinders die to cut the image and a gold layer for mounting.  I used a textured white card 6x6.  The center panel I embossed using a Sizzix snowflake embossing folder.  I used deckled edge scissors to cut the edges and a Krylon gold pen on the edge.  I added gold dew drops and smaller gold beads to the snowflakes, which is a Martha Stewart punch.  An organdy bow finishes it off.

This is a fun technique, hope you have a chance to try it.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you're not stressing out about the holidays.  It's kinda like a wedding, takes so long to get ready and it's over in one day!!!!  And no matter what happens, it always turns out OK.

Until later................

DOG SLED???

Hi, and happy Saturday.  Finally got everything wrapped! Sorted! and under the tree!
Now to finish cleaning and getting a few more decoration upstairs and I'll be ready to start
baking!

This very cute stamp was sent to me in a delightful Christmas package from my dear stamping friend Cathy in Arizona.  She packed a lot of wonderful stamping stuff into a box that was so much fun to unwrap.  Thank you so much Cathy.

So, I had to ink it up and make a card!  The stamp is from Stampabilities. I colored with Copics.  I used papers from prior years that were left over. Two red brads and rhinestones in the center of the punched shapes.  Does this stamp give an all new meaning to DOG SLED!!!

I'm entereing this card into the Stampin for the Weekend challenge, (#53) which is Chirstmas.

Hope you had a great Saturday.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Until later.....................

BRINGING IN THE TREE

Hi, happy Tuesday.  Today and last night we got and are getting pounded with snow.  Expecting 6 to 12 inches in total.  Since Rick can't use the snow blower because of his shoulder surgery, I am looking at some shoveling in my near future!!  Wish we had a teenager in our neighborhood!

Today's card is for the Penny Black Challenge #131.  They wanted to see Christmas plants or flowers, including Christmas trees.

This is a wonderful Vintage image from when I first started stamping.  Isn't she adorable?

The papers are from K & Company.  The Christmas Tree is a Sizzix die.  The snowflakes are a Martha Stewart Punch.  I colored with Copic Markers.  Added rhinestones to the centers of the snowflakes.  Sentiment is from Hero Arts. Sprayed the entire finished card lightly with gold Perfect Pearls mixed with water in a mini mister...........LOVE THIS STUFF!  Click to enlarge the picture to see this beautiful effect.

Have a great Tuesday.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Stay warm if your in the Freezin Season!  Until later......

BSS MONDAY IDEA - USING FUN FOAM AND FELT IN YOUR DIE CUTTING MACHINE

Good Monday morning, and welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.  Today, the idea is to think outside the box and use different materials in your die cutting machine.

Here is my completed card.  Papers I used are from the Christmas collection from Graphic 45, as well as the sentiment strip.

I colored the faceted clear beads with Ranger alcohol inks, red pepper and cranberry.  I used a couple of drops of each color on the felt strip on the applicator tool,  It dries almost immediately, so you can do them all on one side and then flip them and do them on the other side.

The holly is a Sizzix die and I ran green and red felt through.  It cut like butter.  I used Stickles and a snow writer to decorate them.

The red bird is cut from red felt that is glittered and used the snow writer.  Made a double bow with twine.

I have used stiff organza for flowers and stiff net too.  I have some burlap I just bought, going to try that soon.

Hope you have a chance to try these ideas soon.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later.....

SWEET ANGEL

Hello, happy Saturday.  Are you running behind in preparations for the Christmas Holidays like me?  I feel like I managed my time better when I was working 40 hours a week!!  That "I'll do it tomorrow mentality" when you're retired can come back to bite you!!  Anyway, I have everything I bought wrapped, so that's something.  And I could sure use this darling Angel to help me decorate.

This beautiful little Angel is a digi by Prairie Fairy.  I have colored her with Copics, added glitter and glitter pens to various areas.  I'm entering it in the challenge at Prairie Fairy Fridays (#41), and the challenge was to add stars to your project.  I purchased these felt stars at Hobby Lobby, and they worked out on this card just great!

I made an Easel card, using papers from K & Company and glitter card stock in gold.  The sentiment is by Impression Obsession.  The die cut is a Stampin Up top note.

I'm also entering this card in the following challenges:
Winter Wonderland- Use Christmas Baubles
Stamp Something - Use a Digi

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great Saturday.  Until later.............

IN THE MEADOW WE CAN BUILD A SNOWMAN

Hi, happy Friday!  I've been MIA a lot this past week, I had to attend a couple of tax seminars to prep for going back to work in January for tax season here in the US.

I had this card partially made on my craft table and finished it up when I got home today.  The Snowman was a gift from a dear friend, Tammy.  It's a clear stamp from Plum Purdy.  I colored him with Copics and added some glitter.    I've used papers from several companies.  The elongated heart is a punch.

Hope everyone is keeping warm, it has turned really cold here and we are going to get some nasty weather over the weekend.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend.  Until later................

REINDEER LOVE

Hello, happy Tuesday.  We are getting some snow today.  About 80 miles from here they are getting pounded, up to 30 inches of snow!  Still cleaning up in the city of Buffalo from last weeks lake effect storm.  Having to load snow onto trucks and take it away to get it off the side streets.  Hello Winter.

Today's card was made for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge, (#75) and the theme was Patchwork Background..  I used this adorable Tilda with reindeer antlers, which I just got, had been on pre-order since October!!!  I cut one inch pieces of two different card stock patterns from My Mind's Eye, which was glittered to make my background, mounted on a piece of glitter paper.  The medallion is made from a Martha Steward corner punch.  The reindeer running across the bottom is a punch by EK Success and I have embossed with sparkly embossing powder.  Ticket is from Tim Holtz.  Square paper doilies. Snowflake charm was a gift from a friend. Small heart is punched from red mirror paper.

Isn't she just darling.  The snowflake border she is sitting on is a stamp by Inkadinkado, stamped in Versafine, vintage sepia and embossed with rainbow embossing powder.  Lots of Stickles used also.

Close up of reindeer.

Ticket and red heart.

Beautiful snowflake charm, a gift from a friend.

I'm also entering this card at:

Just Magnolia (#84) - Sparkle
Magnolia-licious - Use letters or words
Totally Tilda - Use the word Love, or a heart

Have a great Tuesday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later...............

BSS MONDAY IDEA - MAKE YOUR OWN BORDERS AND MEDALLIONS

Hi and welcome to another Monday morning Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.
Today's idea is to make your own borders and medallions using corner punches.

This is a close up of  an oval that I punched around with the Martha Stewart snowflake border punch.

Make the first cut, by lining up the "V" on the punch with the edge of the paper. (See next picture)
Make the second punch by lining up both the left side opening AND the "V" at the edge of the paper.
Continue around the circle.

Continue lining up the left edges and the "V" at the bottom edge.

Here's the completed card using an oval I punched around with the same snowflake punch by Martha Stewart.  The image is by Stampendous, Holiday Lamp. I colored with Copics.  The oval behind the medallion is by Basic Gray, Wassail.  I mounted the ovals on a piece of blue card stock that I had run through the Sizzix Snowflake folder, ran a white cat eye across the embossed areas and embossed with a pearl embossing powder.  Mounted on white card stock.  The 5.7 white card was stamped with a snowflake swirl stamp by Inkadinkado with Adirondack, Stonewashed.  Added a red bow.

Here's some samples of other medallions I made using the punches shown.  You can also make borders the same way.

Lots of variations with this technique and you can get another use out of your corner punches.
Hope you have a chance to try this.  Thanks for stopping by. Have a great Monday.  Until later........
