PULL OUT MESSAGE.

Happy Memorial Day and welcome to another Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Challenge. The challenge today is this pocket card. I found a tutorial for this card HERE

I used a House Mouse Happy Hopper Stamp and the sentiment is also from House Mouse. I used a spellbinders die for the image and the mat. Martha Stewart border punches for the lacey borders. Kaiser pearls to finish up the trim on the flap.

This is a pretty simple little card with great looking results. Hope you have time to try one soon.

Thanks for stopping by. Until later.................

Hope you had a great Sunday. We attended the dance recital for our Granddaughter , Megan this afternoon. She changed studio's and this recital was so much more professional. She did a great job in her number and she seems more at ease at this Dance School.

I colored the image with Copics and used Ranger Distress ink on the edges of the circle. Martha Stewart border punch of hearts was used. Added flowers and rhinestones.

Detail of punched flower.

Joy-Fold Card Outside

Inside of card.
Hello, it's finally Friday! Today's card is for the Challenge at Sassy Cheryl's. I so love these two adorable images and what a dream they were to color and create with. I have made a Joy-Fold card. The Designer Paper is from Daisy D. I colored with Copics and distressed the edges with Ranger Distress ink, Spiced Marmalade. I used a Martha Stewart Border punch to create the lace border and the punched flowers. The theme this challenge was to use punches. I'm not an orange person, but I like the orange and blue combo.
I'm also entering this in the Stampin for the Weekend Challenge, which is make a card that makes someone smile.
Cheryl is having a sale on digi stamps until Monday. Have a great rest of the day. Until later.......

The Color of Love

They are walking the red carpet as a finale to the week long blog anniversary at the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. And this is the little number I chose to "do the walk"!

It matches my card for this week!!!!!!!!!

As my friend in Texas always says "It's hotter than the hinges of hell here"! The humidity and heat are awful.

Yesterday I went to the Fish Store to get some pond plants and I succumbed to three beautiful new fish. We have done some remedial things to the pond to secure it from the Heron, but the guy in the Fish Store says it's like when you take a trip and eat at a certain place and love it, the next time you take that trip you remember exactly where it was!!!!!!!!! Thanks a lot guy!!!

And to top it all off, we have a pair of robins trying to make a next on the patio. I have knocked it down so many times you would think they would get the idea!!!!

This beautiful Stamp is by Rubbernecker. I have used papers by Me and My Big Ideas. Border punch is Martha Stewart. I used Tombow Markers to color.

The Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge is wrapping up a month-long Blog-anniversary party this week. The Design Team has come up with an award aptly called, The Priscilla Award named after the Blog creator. They have chosen 20 people who have won the Gold Star Award over the past year and you can go to the site and vote for your choice to win this award. I am honored to be on that list. So, if you if you would like to support me for this award, you can vote here. The award is going to be presented annually. The other 19 ladies are amazing and whoever wins will be deserving of this award, so much talent.

Thanks for stopping by today. Until later.

My Best Friend

OMG, it is so darn HOT. Going up to 90 today and humid.............yikes. Help, I'm melting......

Today's card is for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge. The Challenge this time was to make a shaped card. I had this stamp of a doghouse for years and never used it. So today was the day!

Pretty simple, added the Magnolia stamps, sizzix dies of leaves and corner. The inside sentiment which I didn't photograph says "My dog isn't spoiled, I'm just well trained". I colored with Copics and Tombow Markers.
Update on the pond. We have received and installed a pond scarecrow, which is motion sensative and makes a noise and shoots three burst of water in the direction of the detection.
And it works!!, as I was trying to feed the remaining 7 fish that escaped the Blue Heron's belly today, I set it off and got sprayed. The dog is terrified to walk in the yard and has to be coaxed off the patio for now, but is getting better. No sightings in a few days, but hoping that this thing will do the trick. The idea is that it will give up being scared and just not bother. Hoping it does the job!!!
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a great Wednesday. Until later...................

BSS-MONDAY CHALLENGE - MAKE A SCENE

Hello and welcome to another Monday Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Challenge. Today we would like to challenge you to "Make a Scene"! Below are step by step pictures and directions to show you how I achieved my little scene.

First, I cut a piece of white cardstock a little larger than the front of the card I intend to mount it on. I then took a piece of text weight (copy paper) paper and punched a circle near the bottom in the center. I placed the top of the circle cutout over the cardstock about 1/2 inch from the top. This will leave a space at the bottom of the cardstock uncovered.
Using the Ranger sponge applicator (you can use a piece of sponge) I colored the circle in with Mustard seed. I then went over just the edges of the circle with Spiced Marmalade. In the space below, I used Tumbled Glass in a downward motion and Broken China in a sweeping motion across the space. Optional: I used a stampscapes water ripples stamp in darker blue ink tapped off once on scrap paper to get the effect of water.
Remove the paper. Trim to fit your card. Sponge Tumbled Glass near the edges of the entire scene. Stamp sentiment.

I stamped the fishing moose from Whipper Snapper, colored with Copics and cut out and popped him up with pop dots to complete the scene. The sentiment is by Great Impressions.

So, go ahead, MAKE A SCENE!

TINY BUBBLES

Hope your Saturday is going well. Rick went to a old car swap show with the guys today (kinda like the girl version of a stamp show) and the weather is kind of gloomy, so I decided to take the day and catch up on some stamping. The flowers sitting in pots on the patio will wait until tomorrow to get planted. Almost done with that, just a couple of flower boxes to fill then I'm done, except the dreaded weeding out front.

I'm so loving this little bubble blowing Tilda. Don't you just love her hair!! I used the sketch at Just Magnolia. The card is made from Basic Gray Spumoni, perfect for the bubbles. I ran the pink through an embossing folder. Lace from my stash. The paper underneath is from Magnolia and has bubbles all over it. I distressed all and added some little clear flat backed stones that I got at my local stamp store, but I saw them in the garden department recently to use in glass vases, a whole bag cheap!! They worked great for dimensional bubbles. The butterfly is from Michaels, got a whole package of them on clearance in different colors, so you will be seeing them again I'm sure. I colored her with Copics and spritzed the entire card with Shear Shimmer Spritz.
I'm also entering this card in the challenge at Magnolia Stamp Lovers Challenge. The challenge there this week is to make it dimensional. I have popped up the Tilda Oval and the Butterfly.

Hope you have a great Saturday, Thanks for stopping by. Until later..............

House Mouse Challenge - Distressed

Hello, happy day! I just had to make a card for the House Mouse Challenge. As a member of the design team beginning with Challenge 70 on May 24th, I still wanted to get in on the fun so I am entering this challenge one last time.
I distressed the edges of the card and the image with the side of my scissors. Used Vintage photo distress ink on the card edge by running the pad along the edge and on the image using Tim Holtz's foam pads on the wood handle. The designer paper is by Basic Grey. I colored with Copics and sponged in the ground and sky with dye ink.
Just a reminder, when I begin with the Design Team on Monday May 24th, we are having our first ever Blog Hop. There is a fabulous treasure trove of goodies up for grab on the House Mouse site, and some of the design team will be offering goodies on their individual blogs (ME included). Sounds like a lot of fun.
Have a great rest of the day.........Thanks for stopping by. Until later...........

BSS-MONDAY CHALLENGE-FLOWER SOFT

Hello and welcome to the Monday, Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Challenge. Today, I'm encouraging you to try flower soft. I had such a great time making this card and the flower soft just brings all the flowers to life. I especially love the new fine flower soft, the red. The light green is the original. I just layed down a little white craft glue that dries clear and then put the flower soft down and pressed down on it and shook off the excess.
I purchased a set containing really pastel colors, then a couple of individual pots including the red. The green that I used is really light, and I was wishing I had a darker green so I could have done the hanging pots on the porch. Probably could have tinted the lighter green with some alcohol ink, will have to try that next time!!!

The stamped image is by Impression Obsession. The designer paper is Graphic 45. I used Vintage Photo distress ink to ink around the oval. The flowers were made with a Sizzix Bigz die, Flowers and Vines #3. Used Kaiser Pearls for the flowers.
Get a couple of individual pots of this stuff and try it. Lots of possibilities. The new finer stuff is the best. Could be used for fur on animals, birds, the white sparkly would be great for winter scenes.
Thanks for stopping by. Until later.............

Accessorize...errr..Exercise

Hi, So late with today's post, worked in the yard this afternoon. Since the Heron's visits, we are trying to rethink how to protect fish if we restock the pond. I've ordered a contraption that is motion sensitive and makes a noise and sends out three bursts of water to scare them. Someone has recommended this and says it works. We bought some PVC pipe to lay on the bottom of the pond so they have somewhere to go to hide. Right now, five small fish have survived somehow and are laying on the bottom of the pond. We did coax them to the top today with food, but for just a minute. They used to swim around freely and you always saw them out the window. Now until the sprinkler thingy comes, we are covering the pond when we aren't out there. Amazing
the havoc that one really large bird can cause!!!!
Today's card is another stamp from Loralie Art Stamps.
Is she too fun or what. They are all fun. The saying is from Inky Antics. I colored her with Copic Markers.

Tomorrow is the drawing for the May Giveaway.

Just a reminder, I have been so lucky to be chosen to be on the Design Team for House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge. My first entry will be Monday, May 24th. We (that sounds so nice) are having the first ever blog hop for this challenge and many of the design team members will be offering blog candy on their individual blogs, and on the challenge blog there will also be a wonderful blog candy prize. So don't forget to make a card for the challenge and join us in the blog hop, it's going to be so much fun!! There is a link to the Challenge on my right side bar.

Thanks for stopping by. Until later..............

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLOG DOG

Happy Birthday to the Blog Dog! This is my first attempt to get her picture outside this morning. She was being a Diva..........wasn't having any of the modeling thing..........

Then, I said the five little magic words that make her ears perk up and make her pay attention......."Do you like roast beef?" The old gal is having some trouble going up stairs, her eyes are a little cloudy, she sleeps a lot, but for 12 years old she doing good. Just the sweetest girl. Happy Birthday Keeley!
Will be back in a while with a cute card.

Dance Like Nobody's Watching

Hello. Happy Thursday. Today's card is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC53). They are celebrating this week their one year anniversary with a Dance Party! There are some fun prizes, and a blog candy that is out of this world for the month of May.

I used a Penny Black image and the papers are by My Minds Eye, Home Stack. The black lace strip is a Martha Stewart punch. The flowers are Prima, the pearls are Kaiser and the sentiment is Rubbernecker.

They asked that you pick out a Dance dress for the Dance Party this week and I found this lovely number. In Silver and white, I'm just going to Disco the night away!!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great Friday.
An update on the pond, I actually saw a couple of fish this morning. They are freaked out and in hiding. They are the smallest ones. This afternoon, the Heron came back and circled around the house a couple of times before leaving. My brother in law and sister came over and we covered the pond with a tarp, as I am going to be gone all day tomorrow. Will uncover on Saturday and
see if we can find out what we have left and if they will ever come out again. I ordered a scarecrow sprinkler system that is motion activated that is supposed to scare anything that comes near the pond off. My daughter's principal at school has one and says it definitely works.
So worth a try. Apparently this bird ( I have never seen such a large bird outside of the zoo) isn't going to just go away.
Until later............................

Penny Black's 100th Challenge!

Hello, happy Wednesday. Today's card is for the 100th Challenge over at Penny Black and Friends Saturday Challenge. They are having a blog hop too. I flipped the sketch they supplied, but it was a clever idea, the long strip signified the "1" and the two circles signified two "0's", hence, 100!! Pretty clever ladies.

The cardstock is Cloud 9. The flowers are cut and layers from the same paper. Added ribbon and the bird image.

On a sad note, this afternoon, a blue heron entered our yard and devoured all 17 fish in the pond.
Our original fish from when we set up the pond had grown quite large and we had three generations of fish all born in the pond over the past several years. Just depressing.

Have a great rest of the day. Thanks for stopping by. Until later............

BSS-MONDAY CHALLENGE-BACKGROUND RESIST

Good Morning. It's Monday, so it's time for another Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Challenge. The challenge today is to make your own background paper using the color resist technique. You simply stamp images using a versamark pad then clear emboss. I started with smooth white card stock. I stamped the ducks and the branches randomly over the paper with the versamark pad, then embossed them with clear embossing powder. I then used a sponge (I used a finger sponge) to distribute color over the background, using a circular motion. You could also use the Tim Holtz sponge applicator. When you change colors, just blend the two colors together. I did all the green areas first, then went back and added the butterscotch color and then added the dark brown. When I was completely finished adding color, I took a paper towel and wiped the embossed areas to remove any ink on them. This works well with small flowers, or a design stamp.
I love the beautiful pup with this background. The dog stamp is by Impression Obsession. The background stamps are all by Stampscapes.

Hope you have a chance to try this technique. Thanks for stopping by. Until later.............
