Thank Heaven for Little Girls

Hello.  Hope your Tuesday was a good one.  My sister sent my brother-in-law over with fresh corn from the farmers market, some pepper relish she canned and a delicious Peach-Blueberry Pie.  We cooked some hot dogs on the grill and what a feast we had!  Everything tasted so good.  Thanks Sis!!

I made this card with the sketch from Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC69).  The Stamp is by Stamp Camp (Austin, Texas) and I got it at the stamp show last weekend that was in our town.  The paper is by DCWV.  I used a Hero Arts Stamp on one of the circles and embossed with blue embossing powder.  One of the other circles I ran through the heart embossing folder.  The bottom circle is a pink doily.  The lace border is Martha Stewart.  The beautiful butterfly is from Michael's floral department.  Rhinestones from Kaiser. Corners are a punch by paper shapers.  I made the card open from the top and the bottom for something different and flipped the sketch.

I'm also entering this card in the Cinema Saturday Challenge(#93),  this weeks Movie is Annie.  These little gals reminded me of the little orphans, who were Annie's friends.  They look like they are from that era with their little sailor shirts and bowed dresses. And I thought the sentiment was perfect too. This movie is close to our hearts, as our daughter played Annie in a school play years ago, and she belted out those songs like a pro.  Such great memories.  I made all the costumes she wore too, including Annie's trademark red dress.

OOPS, I forgot the challenge requirement to use red on your card for Cinema Saturday, so since I did it
in all pastels, I won't be entering the card there afterall.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you have a great Wednesday!  Until later......

The challenge this week is to use a flower

and a sentiment on the front of your card.

For my card, I have used papers by Making Memories.  I used a spellbinders die to cute the shapes for the sentiment.  The flower is a stamp by Outlines, which I stamped and embossed in white.  I then ran it through the Swiss dots embossing folder by Cuddlebug.  The white border punch is by EK Success.  The dots are liquid pearls.  The cording was wound around a pencil to curl.  A button from my stash was added to the middle of the flower.  Flower and sentiment on popped up on card.

OH BABY

Nice day, weather wise today.  Have the doors and windows open and not so humid, I could get used to this.  Ran some errands this morning and stopped at my local stamp store.  Got some new stamps and a few supplies.  We are having a stamp show this Saturday and Sunday, so I'm excited to see what's new from CHA that will show up.

Today's card is for the challenge at Phindy's Place.  The challenge theme is OH BABY.  I chose this adorable image of the little girl bear with her doll carriage and baby bear.  It's a pretty simple card, I stamped on the circle and colored with Copics.  The Paper is light blue shimmer by Colorbox.  I placed a doily behind the circle and put Stickles on the edges.  The daisys are by K & Company.  Pearls by Kaiser.

BSS-MONDAY CHALLENGE - CLEAR MICRO BEADS

CLOSE UP OF IMAGE COVERED WITH MICRO BEADS

Welcome to the Monday Challenge for Buffalo Stamps and Stuff.  This weeks challenge is to use clear micro beads on a card/project.

You'll need clear micro beads and double sided adhesive paper.  I stamped and colored the image of the sea shells by Inkadinkado.  I cut it out with a Spellbinders die.  I applied one side of the adhesive sheet to the image, then removed the liner and poured the clear micro beads over the entire image.  Using the liner, I pressed the beads into the adhesive.

The brown paper is Bazzill Swiss dot.  The shell designer paper is by K & Company as well as the seahorse.
I used another Spellbinders die cut in half above and below the image.  Added clear dew drops.  The sandcastle border is by EK Success.  You can see by the closeup, that the micro beads leave a stunning finish.

Hope you have a chance to try this technique.

Thanks for stopping by.  Until later.

HOUSE MOUSE & FRIENDS MONDAY CHALLENGE - PHOTO INSPIRATION

Welcome to The House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #76.  Our Teammate, Lisa, came up with this week's challenge, make a card or project, using the above photo for inspiration.  You can take the inspiration from the colors, the character, its up to you, and we can't wait to see what you come up with.

Here is a close up of the little mice getting ready to celebrate! Whenever there is a mouse in the picture, you have to know there is going to be food too!

I colored the mice with Copic Markers, cut them out and popped them up.  The papers I used are Martha Stewart.  I cut the cupcake by hand and ran the two pieces through a cuddlebug folder and placed pearls on the frosting part.  The border punch is also Martha Stewart.  The sentiment is Rubber Stampede. I distressed the edges of my card with distress ink.  Tiny flowers are a punch with pearl centers.

We hope you will join us this challenge and make a card and link it at House Mouse and Friends.  The challenge will run through Sunday, August 29th and one person will be chosen at random to receive a House Mouse Stamp of  "YOUR CHOICE" from our generous sponsor, Simon Says Stamp.

BSS MONDAY CHALLENGE - LOTSA LAYERS

Good Monday Morning!  Time for another Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Challenge.  The challenge this week is to use lots of layers.  You can add a lot of layers to a card without making it really bulky.

Here is how I assembled this card.  I stamped and colored the adorable image by Motivet with Copic Markers.  I cut around the image and added Star Dust Stickles to the water.

The strawberry print paper is by Cosmo Cricket and I cut it to leave just a small border of the white base card showing.  I cut a piece of matching green card stock and glued it to the designer paper, so that the designer paper shows a little below the green card stock and more at the top.  I made a border in white card stock with a new EK Success daisy chain punch and glued it to a  piece of bright yellow card stock, then glued that across the card.  I cut a 1/4 strip of the yellow card stock for above the border and on the green card stock at the bottom.  The red shape is cut from a Sizzix Die from Tim Holtz.  The yellow circle is punched out.  Those two shapes were run through the swiss dot embossing folder.  The shapes were popped up in the center of the card and the image is then added.  The sentiment is by Whipper Snapper Designs.

So, you see, a lot of different pieces went into making this card, which makes it interesting to look at.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful Monday.  Until later.............

BIRDCAGE - NEW CHALLENGE

Hello, it is sizzling hot again here.  So very tired of it.  Rick cut the grass this afternoon and by the time he finished he was soaked straight through!  Ridiculous!

I made this card for a new challenge, Simon Says Stamp and Show.  For their very first challenge, the challenge was to create a card or project using "things with wings" .

As stated on their blog, "The Style here is inspired by the likes of Tim Holtz, Wendy Vecchi, 7 Gypsies and Graphic 45 - among many other Vintage enthusiasts.

I have used papers from The Paper Studio, Simple Elegance.  The birdcage, bird, and flower are Sizzix dies inspired by Tim Holtz.  The button center of the flower is from my stash.  I adhered the birdcage with red line tape in a beveled position.  Pearls by Kaiser and hanging bird is from Jo Ann's jewelry dept.  The sentiment is by Indadinkado.

If you're into this Vintage style, go check out the challenge.  Simon Says Stamp is the ongoing sponsor for this challenge and the prize is fantastic.

Thanks for checking in today.  Have a great Sunday.  Until later..............

KEEP IN TOUCH

Hello, and TGIF!  Everyone looking forward to the weekend.  And the weather is supposed to break here and we are supposed to have lower humidity, YEAH!

Today's card is for the "Other Theme Challenge" at Crafters Digital Art Center (link on the right).  This is a free digital image that is being offered by Nana Vics Digitals this challenge and the challenge is "Make it old".

I used papers from My Mind's Eye and distressed all the edges and inked them distress ink.  I colored the image with Copics.  I printed it on white card stock and on a printed card stock that I wanted to use for the background.  After I colored the image, I cut it out and glued it on top of the one I printed on DP.  I used a dimensional to pop her out a little so it looks like she is sitting forward.

The flowers are from a silk bunch that I dismantled.  The small envies are from my stash.  The sentiment is an old stamp from DOTS (Now Close to My Heart).

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful weekend, summer is winding down and fall will be with us before we know it.  Until later...............

APPLE OF MY EYE

Hello, really late posting today, almost tomorrow!!  Had a friend and neighbor over today to make bits and bobs for her Christmas card making.  She has limited supplies, so I brought my Cricut, my Big Shot and my embossing folders downstairs on the dinning room table, a stack of paper and we went to town.  I had the Woodland cartridge for the Cricut that I had never used.  So much fun.  She left with a bag full of pieces to start her holiday cards with and was a happy camper.

Today's card is for the Totally Tilda Challenge.  The challenge this time is to make a shaped card.  I used the Cricut cartridge, A Child's First Year to cut out the apple.  Tilda as snow white was colored with Copics.  Added some small flowers.  Ran the apple shape through a Sizzix Dots embossing folder.  The leaves were cut from green card stock covered with embossing ink and embossed with clear embossing powers to make them shiny.  Added a bow to finish it up.

Hope you had a great Thursday.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Until later.......

JUST DUCKY

Can you believe it's August 10th already?  Where has the summer gone?  Seems like the kids just got out of school and now it's time to think about school supplies and clothes to return.  Time flies.

This adorable cupcake with the little duck flopped over the top is a digital image from Paper Cupcake Stamps.  This is a freebie at the moment.  It is also the stamp they want you to use at the challenge at
http://theresmagicintheair.blogspot.com, which I had intended to enter this card into, but besides using the image, you were supposed to use sewing on your card.  And I completely forgot, but this was such a fun image to color up, I'm okay with just showing it to you all.

The papers are from a DCWV stack called Flower Shower.  The border punch is Martha Stewart.  The little flowers are stickers form K and Company.  The sentiment stamp is from the dollar bin at Michael's.  Circles were cut from colluzzles. The cupcake frosting is glittered with sparkly white glitter.

Hope you had a great Tuesday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later.................
