Poinsettia

Hi friends.  Cooked up a storm this morning.  Did everything I could to prepare ahead of time so I can

have less to do tomorrow.  After I post this card, I am going to get the table set up for our Thanksgiving feast.  Can't wait to smell that giant bird cooking in the morning.

I made four of these cards for my friends that are coming for lunch in December.  I have a little gift bag and I have showed you the things I have made already.

A white on white card.  5x7 base card.
Mat is embossed with Darice snowflakes embossing folder
Beautiful die is Cuttlebug, by Anna Griffin
Corners are a Paper Shapers punch run through the dotted swiss
folder.  Poinsettia is a digi colored with Copics, sprayed with
Gold Perfect Pearls mixed with water in a mini spritzer.
Some Chunky white Fran-tage EP was Sprinkled on
the flower and embossed from underneath so it doesn't blow off when you use
the heat gun.

The inside
Nordic snowflake is a Martha Stewart punch.  Die is Spellbinders
Sentiment is embossed in gold

Thanks for stopping by today.
Enjoy Thanksgiving
Until later......

Happy Birthday Daughter

Hi friends.  Are you busy getting ready for Thanksgiving?  I think I have been to the Grocery store everyday for a week for something I have forgotten!  Our daughter and son-in-law and two grands are coming for dinner.  I have had up to 16 people in the past when my parents used to come before they passed and we always celebrated both Canadian Thanksgiving and American Thanksgiving here with my Godparents who lived in Toronto.  I miss that big family dinner and all the activity in the house, but I am looking forward to cooking this year.

Monday was our daughters birthday and today was my husband's birthday.  I am sharing the card I made for my daughter here.

Card Recipe

White 5x7 card stock base
5x7 embossing folder
Die cut is Cuttlebug, Anna Griffin
from pink card stock, used chalks to hi-lite  flowers
Sentiment was created with a Kitchen Sink set that I
love, all of the words are separate and it's a clear set, so
it is easy to create with.
Spellbinders die for sentiment

We are going to get some snow for Thanksgiving.  My sister and her family are
traveling out of town to one of her daughter's house, so maybe I will have more
than I think for dinner if the weather turns bad!!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later............

Little Gifts for Old friends

Hello friends.  I have been busy putting together some small gifts for four of my high school friends.  They are coming to lunch in December at my house and I wanted to give them each a few little handmade items.

The last time we met at a restaurant for lunch and I took them each six cards.  They loved them so much, I thought I would do it again.

I made a beautiful card from a picture I downloaded from the internet, it is Santa kneeling at the manger.  I have a small figurine that the hubs bought me years ago after I admired it in a jewelry store. The picture is copyrighted, so I can't show you, but it turned out so beautiful.

These are gift card/money holders.  The picture of Santa is a dear friend of our
who went to Santa School and came to our house for many Christmas Eve's when our
Grand Children were little.  It was so much fun to see their little faces when
he arrived and how they reacted with him.  It's a beautiful picture too.

These are gift tags.  Instead of putting a string on them, I have added a piece of Score Pal tape to
the back of each one so it can be stuck right on the package. They all open up and have a TO/FROM stamp inside.  I want to make a couple more for each of them and have tons of ideas running around in my head, but we will see how time goes.......never enough of it you know............

Just a quick post, thanks for having a peek and stopping by.  Until later........

BSS MONDAY IDEA - Clean and Simple

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

Today's idea is a clean and simple card.

We all love our embellishments, but cards with lots of embellishments are hard to
mail and expensive too.  So with the holidays approaching, I thought we would
make a clean and simple card that you can mail with one postage stamp!

Close up of stamped image.

Finished card

Inside of card

Card Recipe

Stamps - Bella on Bauble (CL255) Wild Rose Studio
Inside Sentiment - Stampendous, Cling Snow Brackets (CRQ146)
Die - Spellbinder's Gold Labels 4 (S5-159)
Embossing Folder - Spellbinder's M-Bossabilities (EL-014)
Border Punch inside - Martha Stewart
Green Mirror Paper
Green text weight liner paper
Flower Soft - Polar White
Gold Stickles on the stars
Gold Cord
Colored with Copics

Card size is 5x7 inch
I stamped the image on green mirror paper with Versafine Black
then embossed with clear embossing powder.  Run a dryer sheet or embossing buddy
over the mirror paper before stamping and embossing. Cut out the ornament and
popped it up on tiny thin foam squares over the ornament on the stamped and colored image.
Placed gold Stickles on the stars and moved it around with a stylus.

Lots of texture, color and shine, without adding a lot of embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day.  Until later.............

Home for the Holidays

Hi friends.  Finally finishing up freshening up our kitchen.  Spent a week, painted cabinets inside and out and
replacing light fixtures and ceiling.  The hubs installed a new Pergo floor in our family room in the beginning of the week, so when we finish up these two rooms, and put everything away, I think that will do us until after the holidays.

I was very lucky and won the challenge at Squigglefly last week and received two free digi's.  I could not wait to color on up and make a card for this week's challenge.

The theme this week at Squigglefly for Challenge # SFC4513 is Polk-a-dots.

This is the darling image I chose, Cardinal Birdhouse, by Artist Maria Shega

I made this Z-Card.

THE LOOK OF LOVE

Good morning, sun is shining, but crisp this morning.  I am taking a short break from painting in the kitchen.
It's going to look nice when it is finished, but I am sick of painting, but it has been awhile since we did it, so onward and upward, right!

I started this card a couple of nights ago and put the finishing touches on it today.  I made it for the challenge at Squigglefly.  It's #44 (SFC4413) and the theme is "It's hip to be square.

I chose this precious image from Squigglefly by Artist Lynne Stansbery.  I absolutely
love this artists work, these images color themselves!  Can you see the love in the child AND
pups eyes?

Card Recipe

Kept it pretty simple, wanted this image to be center stage it is
so powerful!

Papers - K and Company, Linen Closet
Prima Flowers
Border is Martha Stewart
Turquoise card stock mat
Colored with Copics

Ok, I'm off to the kitchen to paint.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.  Until later............

HOUSE MOUSE AND FRIENDS MONDAY CHALLENGE #157 - ANYTHING BUT A CARD

Time for a new challenge at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge.

But before we get started with the new challenge, we want to thank everyone who took part in the Blog Hop for the Anything Goes with twine challenge #156.  We are sorting the winners and they will be announced
on Wednesday so be sure to come back for that post.

On to the New challenge, it's #157 and our super talented teammate, Natascha has picked the theme this time.

"ANYTHING BUT A CARD"

I got the wooden snowflake at Hobby Lobby, but I am sure you can find them in any
of the craft stores.  These were especially nice, because they were already painted white
and the center is big enough to use a pretty good sized stamp.

For this ornament, I painted around the edge with Glamour Dust by DecoArt, Ice Crystal.
Then, before it dried,  sprinkled  Stampendous Vintage Glitter, Champagne Glass for extra sparkle.
When it dried, I lightly sponged the edges with light blue die ink.
I traced around the center part of the ornament lightly with a pencil, then cut the shape out and stamped
on the shape I cut out, to later be glued to the ornament.  I colored with copics and sponged with
die inks.

Don't forget, you can click on any of these images and get a closer look.

New House Mouse Designs  Cling Stamp, Candy Joy HMCP02 by
Stampendous.

Colored with Copics.  I added Ranger Glossy Accents to the candy canes.
The snow is  Chunky White Stampendous Embossing Powder,
sprinkled on in small areas, and heated from underneath until you get the look you're
going for.  I popped this image up on the snowflake with a piece of cardboard cut to the same shape.  Added red and white candy cane striped bow and silver cord hanger.
