NOT EVEN A MOUSE

Hi, happy Saturday. Isn't blogging great, this morning I posted pictures of my grandkids in their Halloween costumes and now my daily post is a Christmas card!! Today's card is for three Challenges, first, Mo's Digital Pencil Too, the challenge was to make a fancy fold card. This card was featured on SCS and is called an Interlocking Three-Panel Card. It is under the TLC67. The Candy stamp is by Too Much Fun. The gold shapes are from a punch by paper shapers. I outlined the card with a Krylon gold pen. The second challenge is Carisma Cardz Challenge, need to make a card with no backing papers. And the third challenge is Winter Wonderland, and this week they have an open challenge. Links to all three of these challenges are on the right. Hope you are having a great Halloween Day........and Night! Thanks for stopping by. Until tomorrow..............

Happy Halloween

This year's costumes!! Michael is Luigi from Mario Bros. fame and Megan is a hippy (Nana's generation) He has a blow up belly and was having second thoughts this morning, that the kids would laugh at him. But, you can see that he got into it after he loosened up. Megan has always loved her picture taken and hams it up for the camera. They were full of stories about what everyone came as in school. Michael is just coming off the flu and he took the costume off and was laying on the loveseat and fell asleep for a couple hours! Of course, they can't wait for tonight and the "getting of the candy and treats". Happy Halloween Everyone.

Prima Ballerina

Hi. Finally Friday. Kids wore their costumes to school this morning for their Halloween party. They only have a half day and they have their party and a parade so everyone can see each others costumes. I took some pictures and will post them tomorrow. Today's card is for three challenges. House Mouse Challenge, make a card with an Aperture, Simon Says Stamp, Sparkly card, and Stamp Something, Cute and Fuzzy Something. Links to all three challenges are on the right. This is a House Mouse Design stamp of a cute ballerina (she's cute and Fuzzy). The sentiment stamp is also HM. I made an oval cut in the card. The corners are glitter paper in peach. The ribbon is also sparkly. The background on the oval cutout is a prismatic silver paper, which really catches the light and sparkles. Hope you had a great Friday. Thanks for stopping by. Until tomorrow.............

LET ME MAKE SOMETHING FOR YOU

Hi, just wanted to show you what I wrapped and put into a basket for that charity auction.

There are 20 cards, four gift bags, a note pad and matching pen, Christmas ornament, 10 Christmas gift tags, 4 Gift card enclosures, 4 Thank you notes, and a winter candle.

Now Let Me Make You Something

My Blogging friend Julia (http://scrapperjulia.blogspot.com) has posted on her blog an offer I chose to take her up on. The rules are strict (NOT) so please read them and if you would like something made by me just for you leave a comment at the end of this posting.

The first 5 people to repond to this post will get something made by me.

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make. Whatcha get is watcha get!

2. What I create will be just for you, with love.

3. It'll be done this year (2009). This is my deadline to make something for you.You may want to change this to some future time such as Easter 2010. Provided you make your committment clear then no one will mind.

4. I will not give you any clue what it's going to be. It will be something made in the real world and not something cyber. It may be weird or beautiful. Or it may be monstrous and annoying. Heck, I might bake something for you and mail it to you. Who knows? NOT you, that's for sure!

5. I reserve the right to do something strange.

6. In return, all you need to do is post this text on your blog and make 5 things for the first 5 to respond to your blog post.

7. Email me your mailing address........after I contact you.

This sounds like fun and I'm looking forward to making something for the first 5 people who respond and want to do the same on their blog. Let me know if you want to join in, I'm waiting for you.........

Scarecrow

Hello and happy Thursday. I worked yesterday on finishing up the gift box of paper craft items I made for a charity auction. I had a lot of cards, but wanted to include other things besides cards. Today's card is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC25). There is a link to the challenge to the right, just click on their logo. I wanted to make a stand up card, but I didn't want to cover this beautiful paper by Debbie Mumm completely, so I assembled the Sketch on clear acetate. Unfortunately, the scarecrow stamp is one I purchased at convention unmounted and I don't know who made it. The inside sentiment is by Great Impressions. I stamped over the inside sentiment with leaves by Rubber Stampede. Hope your Thursday is wonderful. Thanks for stopping by. Until tomorrow.............

A Witches Hat

Hello, happy Tuesday. Today's card is for the Penny Black Challenge. Okay, so I used my
only Halloween PB stamp last week. I just bought this stamp, which is a stamp called Xmas Hat.
I switched out the Santa hat for a witches hat so I could use it for Halloween. The Papers are K & Company and the Border punch is Martha Stewart. I'm putting together a basket of papercrafts for a charity auction. I'll share some pictures as soon as I get it finished. Have a great rest of the day. Thanks for stopping by. Until later..............

BSS-Monday Challenge-Make an Clear Card

Hello, it's Monday! Today's challenge for my local stamp store, Buffalo Stamps and Stuff is to make a clear card. It is so very difficult to photograph a clear card. I formed a clear card from a clear acrylic sheetI ran a black and a white sheet of card stock through the spider web cuddlebug embossing folder. I then ran a silver cat eye ink pad over them to highlite the webbing. I trimmed the two sheets so they were exactly the same size. I colored my image with Copics and cut it out. The image is a stamp by Impression Obession. I mounted it to the front of the acrylic card with pop dots. To hide the image when you open the card, I used regular glue dots in each of four corners to mount the white web to the inside of the front of the card. I stamped the sentiment, by Too Much Fun Rubber Stamps on light blue card stock, then layered it on orange card stock and adhered it to the black spider web piece. I used regular glue dots to adhere the black web to the inside of the card so that it lines up exactly with the white web. These are fun to make and give and have such a great look. Hope you have time to try a clear card. Thanks for stopping by. Until tomorrow.................

Pumpkin Candles & Carmal Apples!!

Just a quick post to show you the beautiful pumpkin candles I received from my old, I mean
dear, friend Clara in Austin, Texas. A match will never touch the wicks of these beauties! I will be bringing them out in the fall every year from now on. The apples are fake! I made them from a project from a magazine, don't they look good enough to eat! Thanks missy for the beautiful fall decorations, they look so nice on my dinning room table! So good to talk to you tonight and catch up.....love ya.

Tilda's Kitchen

This is my Sunday post for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge. The challenge this week is to make a card showing distressing. The sponsor this week is The Soap Dish, and there is a picture of the absolutely yummy handmade soap that goes to the winner of this challenge. Can't win it if you're not in it, so go on over and visit the Magnolia Down Under Challenge and have a look at this beautiful soap and the gorgeous cards our Design Team has put together for your inspiration. http://www.kelliewinnell.com.au/magnolia/

My Design Team entry is a look into Tilda's kitchen. I made a house-shaped card and cut out pieces of card stock to shingle the roof. The stove and cupboard were new arrivals for me last week from Magnolia, so I couldn't wait to ink them up. Tilda is baking cupcakes and has filled the cupboard with them. I used small white brads on the cupboard drawers for knobs. I used Ranger distress inks on just about everything in various colors. I cut a piece of acetate for the cupboard to look like a glass door. Designer paper used for floor and walls. Wall hangings are stickers. Oops, looks like Tilda has a visitor in her kitchen, do you see him peeking out from behind the cupboard? Cupboard and stove are popped out. Top cupboard and jelly jars are not, so they appear to be sitting on the lower cupboard. This was a fun card to put together. Thanks for stopping by, now go bake a batch of cupcakes, you know you want to!!! Until tomorrow............

Holly Fairy Ornament

Hi, hope you're having a good weekend. It's cool, damp and windy here today, good day to stay in and stamp. My granddaughter Megan stayed over last night and she got into stamping House Mouse stamps and coloring them. She did pretty good too. I thought it was so cute, when she was getting ready for her Mom to pick her up she said "I never have enough time when I come to your house Nana". Truth be known, they are always busy and I think it is the one place she can just do nothing.

Today's card is for the Challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil Too. The challenge was to make anything but a card. I bought these giant silver sparkly snowflakes at Michael's without knowing what I was going to be doing with them. They worked out perfectly to make an ornament out of the Holly Fairy. I colored her with Copics and glittered some parts of the stamp and added the ribbon. I popped the coluzzle circle up on the snowflake. I like it! Hope you do too. Thanks for stopping by. Until tomorrow......

ACHOO!

Hello. Today's card is for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge. The Challenge was to make a get well card. I'm afraid with the flu season already upon us, there will be many get well cards being made. Our area schools have very high absenteeism already. This poor little guy has red cheeks and nose from all that nose blowing. I haven't used this image in a long while and I forgot how fun it is to color it up. I used papers from S.E.I. Black Orchid paper stack. Corners are from a Paper Shapers punch. The sentiment stamp is The Cats Pajamas. Hope you're well and warm and NOT feeling like this poor little mouse. Until tomorrow.............

Live Life Wisely

Good Morning, and happy Thursday! Today was my day to get the kids on the bus at my daughter's and poor Michael didn't feel good. I thought I was going to be bringing him home with me to rest for the day, but the prospect of resting for the day didn't go over so well and at the last minute he decided to go to school, so we rushed around getting him ready and he made the bus. I haven't had a phone call as yet, so I'm assuming he is feeling better.

Today's card is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC24) a link to their website is on the right. I have used papers from a paper stack from DCWV from a few years ago and K & Company. Image is from Cornish Heritage Farms. Pearls are Kaiser. Gold leaves are Martha Stewart. Stars, Michaels. Used Ranger distress inks around the owl image. I'm also entering this card in the Cupcake Craft Challenge (http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.com/). The theme there is Things that go bump in the night. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great rest of the day. Until tomorrow........

Tilda Trick or Treating

Hey, happy Tuesday. Ran around and did some errands today. Went to my local stamp store to drop off yesterdays card and the back table was loaded with "stamps & stuff" that had just arrived. Needless to say, was there for awhile and bought some new stamps and things. Graphic 45 paper, I just love that stuff was in and got some new ones. I also started my Christmas shopping today. Just for my two grandkids, but got some things I had wanted. That way I won't be running around when all the nuts are out!

Today's card is for the Pink Elephant Challenge #37 a sketch http://thepinkelephantchallenge.com and also for Roses on Paper Challenge, Halloween http://ropchallenge.blogspot.com/ and Cute Card Thursday, Spook Fest. I used the Tilda dressed as a bunny stamp. I colored her eggs like candy corn. The papers are by Debbie Mumm and K and Company. She looks a little intimidated about entering the gate to the haunted mansion, don't you think? Thanks for stopping by. Until tomorrow..............

Halloween candy bar card

The Outside of the card

The inside of the card
Hi. I had this little card to post on Sunday and I forgot! It's a simple little card for Halloween, but could be adapted for any occasion. You start with a piece of 8 1/2 x 7 cardstock. You score at 2 1/2 inches and at 6 3/4 inches. Fold up the 2 1/2 inch to form a pocket to hold the candy bar. Use red line tape to hold it securely. Decorate the front and the pocket as desired. Could be dressed up with ribbon and embellishments, but for little ones I have left this one fairly simple. Papers are by K & Company. The inside sentiment is a $ 2.00 stamp from AC Moore.
The outside sentiment is by Northwoods. Have a great rest of the day.

BSS-Monday Challenge - Variation on Easel Card

Hello, and hope you're having a good start to the week. Today's card is for the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Challenge. It's a variation on an Easel Card. That is, the card is able to stand
on it's own for displaying. The basic card is 6x6 scored at 3" and 6". Fold the three inch score
in a mountain fold and the six inch score in a valley fold. (see second picture above) Decorate the back six inch panel with designer paper. Affix a 2-21/2 circle in the center with a brad close to the top. You need to leave enough of the half circle so your image can be tucked up under it to hold it in place. Decorate the front and affix your image. That's it. I used black cardstock, the designer paper is Graphic 45. The image is from Impression Obsession and the sentiment is from Inkadinkado. The leaves are a cuddlebug die and matching folder. You can click on the pictures to enlarge them if you need a better look at something. If you have questions, you can email me at rsdrees@verizon.net. Hope you get a change to try this card. Have a great Monday. Until tomorrow.....................

Cute as a Pumpkin

Hi there. Welcome. I'm posting a little late today and no post yesterday, as I had my Grandkids overnight. Even though we spent some time in the stamp room, I didn't get a lot accomplished until after they left. We had movie night and popcorn, of course last night after a dinner of Taco's with all the trimmings. Today when they were leaving they wanted to take some Chestnuts home. We have two giant trees in our front yard and they are falling like crazy now that it's cold. There Mom, my daughter, said "you're not taking them in the house, they stay in the garage". I asked her what's the matter Heidi, don't you want to find them in their closets in the Spring, all yucky like we did when you were little?

Today's card is for the Penny Black Challenge, which was a sketch challenge. I have used this brand new to me Penny Black hedgie with a pumpkin balloon, isn't he cute? Papers are by K & Company and the word stamp is from the dollar bin at Michaels. The beautiful polka dot ribbon was a gift from my blogging bud, Stephanie, thanks so much friend. Hope you had a great Saturday and were able to do something you love. Thanks for stopping by. Until tomorrow........

Birthday Angel

Hello, hope your Thursday was good. Today, I did the necessary weekly sprucing up around the house in the morning and in the afternoon I got together with my friend and neighbor and we did some stamping. She lost her husband a few years ago and I got her interested in cardmaking so every once in a while she comes down and I show her some new stuff. It was fun to get together and she left with a bag full of new tricks!!
Today's card is for the Penny Black Challenge. The Challenge was to use Buttons and Bows on your card. I made this card for the daughter of one of my Goddaughters. She will be 3 in early November. Both stamps, the birthday angel and the sentiment are Penny Black. The bows are from Martha Stewart. The buttons (the center of the bows) are from AC Moore. Pearls by Kaiser. Paper is Heidi Grace.
Thanks for stopping by. Until tomorrow............

House Mice go a Haunting..

Hi, Happy Wednesday. Went to see the movie Couples Retreat yesterday! It's so funny! Seems weird to be able to go to a movie in the middle of the afternoon, it's that worked for so many years thing! It's getting colder every day now. Brrr...had minor snow on the ground about 80 miles from here...........OH NO! Today's card is a tri-shutter Halloween card featuring the House Mouse Gang. There are six little mice on this card out for a night of trick or treating. All the papers on the card are from K & Company Halloween specialty stacks, including the card itself.
The rest of the stamps are $ 1.00 stamps from Michaels. The ghost and spider and web are Sizzix dies. Also included buttons with the shanks cut off. The skeleton is a foam with glitter sticker ( from Cathy, thanks Cathy). I love these cards because you can pile all this on one card and still fold it flat for mailing. Hope you have a great rest of the day. Thanks for stopping by. Until tomorrow.............
