Snowman

Hi blogging friends.  Did the week before Christmas and Christmas week just seem to disappear in a flurry of panic, anticipation, and fun and frolic?  Wow!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is looking forward to the New Year.

Today's card is for the challenge at Sassy Cheryl's. It's challenge 146 and the theme this time is "We Love Snowmen"  I do love snowmen, so this was a challenge I wanted to participate in.  Cheryl has a lot of snowmen stamps and even some in the bargain bins.

I chose this little guy, sitting atop the word Winter.

Card recipe

Digi - Sassy Cheryl's
Paper - Stampin Up
Spellbinders Classic Circle dies
Snowflakes and snowflake border - Memory Box
Branches - Martha Stewart punch
Pink Satin Ribbon and sparkly self stick circle
Dotted with Sharpie Poster Paint Pen
Colored with Copic Markers

We actually got some snow over the holidays, Rick has snowblowed twice, and
yesterday he had to use the roof shovel as the gutters were full of ice and the roof
was stacked high with snow.  Lots of pictures of our little ones on facebook going sledding for
the first time in a long time, even my 14 and 12 year old Grandkids were excited.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Appreciate your wonderful comments.  Until later....

BSS MONDAY IDEA - 3D TREE

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.
Well, it's Christmas Eve. All the shopping, wrapping, baking, cleaning, and decorating is hopefully done and you can now enjoy the holidays.
I made one last Christmas card. The idea is the 3D Christmas tree on the front.
I used a Sizzix die Christmas Tree #2 654987 and cut it out 5 times
with paper from Me and My Big Ideas. Because the paper was white on the
wrong side, I glued two pieces together. Start with a single tree, fold one of the
double sided trees in half and crease with bone folder. Do the same with the second double sided tree. I adhered the single tree to the Spellbinder's Floral Oval die cut with white glitter paper.
Then glued ( I used a glue gun for strengh) down the middle of one of the double sided trees and adhered it to the first one, and repeated the same thing with the second double sided tree. I used silver Stickles on the edge of the branches, and added a silver ribbon to the designer paper which is Graphic 45, Sugar Plum collection. All on a white card base. Tree can be folded flat for mailing.
Hope your Christmas is the best ever and you are surrounded by loved ones and friends.
Thanks for stopping by today. Merry Christmas............

BSS MONDAY IDEA - SIMPLE CHRISTMAS CARD

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.
Today's Idea is a quick Christmas Card. The technique is over stamping.
That is, you stamp the image, then stamp the sentiment over the image.
Here is a closeup of the stamped images.
Both Stamps are Inkadinkado. The Holy Family image (99627)
was stamped on white card stock with light blue dye ink.
The sentiment was stamped over the image with Versafine Onyx ink
embossed with clear embossing powder.

Used Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Two (S4-346) die
Blue stared paper is from my stash with a mat of silver paper, mounted
on a gold glittered card base. The starts and rhinestones were added last.
This is a quick card and because nothing is popped up, will mail for
the regular rate.
Hope you have time to try this technique. Will work for any occasion. Try flowers
in the background with a birthday or get well message.
Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Monday.  Until later...............

DANCE BY THE LIGHT OF THE MOON

Hi friends, trying to finish up Christmas cards for special friends and family.

I made this card for the challenge at Craft a Scene.  The December theme is "A winter scene".

Card Recipe:

Stamps - Stampscapes, except:
Deer- Art Impressions; Snow couple- Too Much Fun (old)
Sentiment -Rubber Cottage
Paper - Glossy White card stock, card base Gina K Pure Luxury, Black Mat
I brayered the sky, stamped the frosty trees, first in black, then dropped down
an inch and stamped again with dark green.  Sponged blue along the bottom
I stamped the branches at the bottom in black versafine ink, used white embossing powder
sparingly, so branch showed through in places and looks snowy when embossed.
The snow couple was stamped on glossy paper, colored and cut out.  When the scene
was finished, I glued them in place.

I'm going to make some homemade sweet bread and deliver this card with it to a friend.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later..............

Catching Snowflakes...........

Hello blogging friends.  Is everyone rushing around trying to tie up those gifts, cards, decorating and just everyday life?  What a busy time of the year.  Want to be in the stamp room more, but just can't seem to get enough time.  Have a bunch of new goodies I haven't even opened yet....maybe tomorrow!

Today, I have made a card for the challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil 2 Challenge, # 164 and the theme is Anything Goes. Don't you just love when you can use any of Mo's images you want!!

This little cutie is doing what all children do when snow is falling, they try to catch the flakes with their tongues!

I did her in pastels for a change of pace from traditional Christmas colors.

Card Recipe

Digi - Mo's
Stamp - Sentiment - Northwoods Rubber Stamps
Snowflake punch - Martha Stewart
Papers from my Christmas stash
Die - Spellbinders Fancy Ribbon Threader (S5-135)
Sparkly white glitter on coat and hat
Star Dust Stickles on snowflakes and around sentiment
Colored with Copics
Sparkly pink ribbon, JoAnn's

Just as a side note, it isn't just kids that do this when the snowflakes fall.
Our 7 month old puppy, Keeya, saw her first snow a couple of weeks ago, and did the same thing!

Hope your having a great weekend.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later..........

Puppy's First Christmas

Hi friends.  Thank goodness it's Friday!  I made a Christmas card today for the woman breeder that we bought out puppy from in July.  She has been breeding Keeshond dogs for 27 years and she is only in her 40's.

Since it is our puppies first Christmas, I had a little photo session with her this evening by the Christmas tree also, so I could send her a picture.

Hard to believe that she looked like this when we brought her home in July.

The stamp was a gift from a friend.  Cardstock is The Paper Studio.
Colored with Copic Markers.  Red mirror paper mat.  Flower and ivy is K&Company.
The sentiment is Printworks.  Ribbon from my stash.
I used sparkly embossing powder over the entire image to make the card more festive for the holidays.

This is the puppy just seven months later.  She is beautiful, but like all
puppies, she is so bad!!  Can't wait for her to mature some.

Have a great weekend.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later..............

Post Card Christmas (one more time)

Hello friends.  Wow is December flying by or what!!  We finally decorated our tree and the house.
When our daughter was small, we carried on the tradition of my family that Santa put the tree up after the kids went to bed on Christmas Eve.  We had to laugh, now it took us two days to finish the tree alone, we kept stopping and starting again!!  Hey, it's a big tree and lots of ornaments.....

Today's card is for my long time friend who lives in Austin, Texas.  I promise you I have put this beautiful stamp away, but had to use it just one more time.

Paper - The Paper Studio
Stamp - Stampendous
Stamped on white glossy paper, sponged with Frayed Burlap and Bundled Sage distress inks.
Ribbon - Martha Stewart
Snowflake is Spellbinders die
Cheesecloth
X Border is Martha Stewart punch

Ok, off to get packages I need to mail ready to take to the Post Office.
Then, on the addressing Christmas cards.

Hope you have a great Friday.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Until later.......

BSS MONDAY IDEA - SNOW GLOBE CARD

WELCOME TO THE BUFFALO STAMPS AND STUFF MONDAY IDEA.
Today, I am going to share a fun card with you that I found a template for online.
It's a snow globe card. Who can resist a snow globe. You know you just have to pick it up and shake it to see the snowy world inside come to life. This card has that feel.
Using the template, just cut the shape on a folded piece of heavy white card stock.
Then cut the base from designer paper of your choice. A circle for the globe part.
I used a Spellbinders circle for mine.
Snow Couple stamp -Designs Unlimited (304G)
Red wood grain paper is Basic Gray
Colored with Copics
I used sparkly white embossing powder for the snow.
Just covered the circle with Versamark clear watermark ink
sprinkled with the embossing powder and heated. Glitter will work, but
tends to come off more easily. You could also cut a circle from
Acetate to look like glass.

Deer - Northwoods (P8755)
Stamped with clear ink and embossed in gold
Colored the scarves with Copics
Inked around the edges with Broken China distress ink.
The base of the snow globe was cut from gold paper
then run through a holly branch Cuttlebug folder.
(love this effect) Red sparkly ribbon attached.

The inside sentiment on both cards is "I wish we could spend Christmas together"
and is by Motivet (CM034G)
These are quick, really cute cards. The globe can be stamped with whatever is your favorite Christmas stamp. Kids would love these too!
Hope you have time to try this little card.
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great Monday.  Until later............
