BOWL OF APPLES

It's Friday! Yea!  Cooling down now during the night and the days are getting shorter.  It's dark when I get up and gets dark earlier in the evening now.  Fall is surely in the air and the leaves are falling.  We have  two big old chestnut (Horse Chestnut, not the eating kind) trees in our front yard and every year children come with their bags and collect the chestnuts, and each night, the deer come and graze and eat them off the lawn.  When we rake leaves, we also rake up lots of chestnuts, so we put them on a tarp and drag it to the field across the street from us, so the deer can feed off them.  Ah Fall.

Today's card is my third for the Progressive Challenges at Crafters Digital Art Center, and this round ends tomorrow.  I only completed three of the five offered, just not enough time..........

It's a pretty simple card.  The Digi is by Glitterbabes.  I printed the digi twice, once on plain white card stock and next on red gingham.  I cut out the gingham and paper pieced it.  Ribbon sentiment is a spool from Michael's dollar bin. I put Glossy Accents on the apples to make them shiny.  Colored with Copic Markers.

Have a great Friday. Thanks for stopping by. Until later..............

BSS MONDAY IDEA - QUICKUTZ AUTUMN LEAVES/ACORN DIE

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.
This week, Sharon suggested we feature a new die from Quickutz.
It contains four dies on one plate, small oak leaf cluster, large oak leaf cluster,
large oak leaf and acorn and vine.

Card Recipe:
Stamp - Rubber Stamp Cottage
Papers - Simple Stories - Generations 6x6 stack
Dies - Small and large oak leaf cluster

Card Recipe
After the die was cut, I used the blank for a stencil.
I sponged the large and small oak leaf clusters with distress ink randomly on a cream
card.
Spellbinders oval die
Large oak leaf die sponged with distress ink. I used a black permanent
fine line pen to dot the leaves. Sprayed gold perfect pearls with water from a mini mister on
the card before adding the oval with leaves. Click to enlarge to see how beautiful this effect is.
Popped leaves up on the oval.

Card Recipe:

Cream card stock card. Ran dies through the dotted swiss embossing folder.
Lace trim.
Sentiment - Art Gone Wild
Gold Krylon pen around sentiment square.

Really versatile die. Was fun to use autumn colors and leaves after our
long hot summer here.

CUTE AS A PUMPKIN

Hello.  Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  What a nice fall day it was here today, but supposed to get rain everyday next week.  I have been doing some genealogy searching for my husband's side of the family and it sure is time consuming and frustrating.  I had started it years ago and put it away because I hit a brick wall.  Now, we are having a cousins reunion and I want to be able to give each cousin a card so they can give me the information about their parents and their families to fill in.  So I found out you can't blog and spend that much time on the computer searching.  And it is hard on the eyes.  Old documents are sometimes dark and hard to read.......

I bought some cute digital images from Designed2Delight and made a card today.

Card Recipe:

Digi - Designed 2 Delight
Hay paper - old DCWV stack
Designer paper - DCWV Halloween stack
STickers of pumpkins - Michaels
Sentiment - Michael's dollar bin
Leaves - Martha Stewart
Ribbon - Michaels dollar ribbon spool
Colored with Copics

Have a great Sunday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later...........

BSS MONDAY IDEA - DOTS, STRIPES, PLAID AND FLOWERS

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.
Today's idea is to use plaids, stripes, flowered paper and dots as a background.
I have used the simple, elegant Christmas stamp by Northwoods for the focal point of my card.
I colored with Copic Markers then cut it out using Spellbinders Large Deckled Mega Rectangles set.
Ran a gold Krylon pen along the edges and white glittered the pine needles on the image. I purposely left the background plain so that I could "busy up" the background.
For the background, I used four different papers from the Basic Gray Jovial Paper Pad.
Dots, Stripes, flowers, and plaid. I cut strips, all different sizes to fit across the card.

In between each print, I glued a 1/4 inch strip of green cardstock, and matted the stamped image in the same paper. Snowflakes are from a punch and glittered paper.
It's fun to use all different papers to make a background, and this beautiful stamp allows you to do just that.
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great Monday. Until later...........

BOYS BEST FRIEND

Hi, this is my card for the Challenge at Gingersnap Creations GS118 - Supply Challenge - Crimpers.

When was the last time you used your crimpers, since embossing folders came along?
Well I dug mine out and chose the wavy Marvy one.  Then I went searching for something creative to do with it.  I found this great tutorial on SCS here for this crimped diamond card.  It's pretty cool looking, and easy to do.

Card Recipe:

Paper - White card stock for the crimping
Striped from my stash
Stamp - Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers (old)
Dog paw print on button and Woof stamp is Cloud Nine
Sentiment is computer generated.
Ticket is Tim Holtz sponged with orange dye ink
Green Paper clips from the $ store.
Bakers twine - Pizzazz Aplenty

The Box of dog bones is a left over crimped box I saved from
last Christmas and dressed up to match the card, and the crimping sorta matches too!
Added a bag of dog bones for a gift for a little friend who just got a new puppy.

Here's a close up of the sentiment.  Took it off a dog calendar page, I love
what it says.........

Thanks for stopping by today.  Now get on over to the Gingersnap Creations blog and have a look at the design team creations for this challenge.

Until later.........

BSS MONDAY IDEA - A Petal Card

Today's idea is to make a Petal Card.
Here is the completed card. There is a great tutorial on how to make this card at
The image and the bow are mounted on a belly band around the card (the orange piece).
The stamp is Pumpkin Marci by LA LA Land Stamps, isn't she adorable!!
The pumpkin border on the belly band is Martha Stewart.
This is the card without the belly band. I used circle die cuts, made from textured green card stock and paper by My Mind's Eye. Notice the fold.

The inside of the card, I used a square of textured orange card stock. The sentiment is by Impression Obsession B5586. The pumpkins are by Rubber Stamp Tapestry, Pumpkin Border SPV 10004.
Edges are sponged with orange die ink

I'm going to post this card into the Customer Gallery over at LA LA Crafts Blog just for fun!
This is a fun fold. Hope you have a change to try it soon.

First Day of School

Well the kids went back to school this week, and I am back to going over to my daughters house in the morning to get Mikey on the bus in the morning.  Since he is going to go to Middle School next year, they decided this summer that they would give him a key and he would come home on the bus and let himself in this year so that he gets used to this procedure.  Mind you his older sister is already home, but that was the plan.  He wasn't to take the key out until he was on the porch at their house and he wasn't to tell anyone about it or show anyone.  Yesterday, the second day of school, he showed it to the bus driver and every teacher he knew, which means he had it out and talked incessantly about it!  There is a lot of work to be done this year!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today's card is for the second round of the Progressive Challenge at the Crafters Digial Art Center.
This image is by Stamp-n-doodle.  The theme for the digi's they are giving away free this month is Back to School and you have until September 14th to use one or all of them in order to get the next round of digi's free.

Card Recipe:

Digi - Stamp-n-Doodle
Paper - DCWV
Black Card stock for chalkboard
White gel pen for alphabet across the top
Blue Grosgrain ribbon and stars from my Stash
Circle sentiment is from Michael's dollar bin
Colored with Copic Markers

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Thursday.  Until later........
