BSS IDEA - Must be love.........

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff IDEA.

Wonderful Garage Sale at BSS yesterday.  Got some great "Stuff" for

BSS IDEA - CHRISTMAS IN JULY

WELCOME TO THE BUFFALO STAMPS AND STUFF IDEA

New Christmas "Stuff" is showing up now for the 2018 season.

I am a sucker for an ornament stamp or die, so when I saw this one

at the store, I just had to buy it.  Hope you like it too. I used gold mirror

card stock on both cards, and it is so hard to photograph.

For this first card I used:

Die - Deer in Ornament-Hero Arts (D1527)

Die-Amy Design-Ice Crystal Circle (ADD10110)

Paper - White glitter paper circle behind the ornament.

Gold Mirror Paper 

Gold bow

 

Same deer die

I cut it out with white glitter paper.

I then paper pieced the deer (Kraft paper sponged with

white and brown dye ink pads.)

The leaves with dark green card stock.

Designer paper - Dear Santa 6x6 Pad, Photo Play 

card is 41/4x51/2 inch 

Green cord bow

On both cards I popped up the ornament die.

Hues to Use--Power Poppy Guest Designer

A couple of months ago, I received an email from Julie Koerber at Power Poppy who Coordinates the "Hues to Use"challenge each week.  She was asking me if I would like to participate as a guest

designer for one of their challenges.  Well, duh, I jumped at the chance as I love Power Poppy stamps and digis and I love to color, so it was a no brainer.

The Hues to Use challenge is every Tuesday, and Julie provides you with three colors

and a picture depicting those colors.  You then enter a card using those colors on a
 Power Poppy Stamp or Digi.

In the days that followed, Julie sent me the three colors I would

be working with.  My heart sank, eggplant purple, orange, and a buttery cream color.

Purple and orange are probably the two most unused colors in my stash of paper, markers, pencils

and embellishments.  But, I do love a challenge (and I had already said yes) so I went

to work  choosing a Power Poppy image from my stash that I thought I

could incorporate these colors into.

I won't lie,  there were four or five starts to coloring the image up
 before I began to see that I could do this!

So without making you read or wait any longer here is my card

as a guest designer for Power Poppy's Hues to Use this week.

For my card, I chose the digi, Cup of Columbine, and colored it up with Copic Markers.

I knew I wanted to make a shaped card, so I chose a Spellbinder's Grand Die

Label 4.  I cut an Egg Plant purple mat for the Copic Colored image, then

attached them to a white card cut from the same die set.  The purple mat and

front of the card were embossed with a Creative Expressions 8 1/2x11 embossing

folder, Braided Vines.

Next, I stamped and embossed the word Enjoy, from Jillibean, and cut

 it out with the matching die in the set.

 I then cut two more of the word Joy from white  card stock

 and glued them to the back of the orange

       embossed original to give it  some dimension when adding it to the card.

 The word Everyday was stamped 

on white card stock and embossed with the same orange embossing powder

and die cut with the glag die from the same set.

A few purple sequins were finishing touches to the card.

Sun is also an old punch, which I punched out and used the punched out
image as a stencil with some yellow ink and wink of stella.

Sponged the sky with distress ink on the edge of a torn paper towel.

I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with like minded people.

I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.

This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue!
