Cherry Pickin'

Hi, thanks for stopping in on this Saturday. The sun is shinning and it is cold, cold, cold! We got up early this morning to go watch our grandson (age 81/2) play soccer. He played well, but the other team was just really good and won the match. It's good for him, as he has alot of energy and soccer sure does keep him moving. We went out for a fish fry last night and he asked me to come today. Papa goes every Saturday and watches him, but he wanted me to come see him.
Today's card is an adorable stamp by Penney Black for the Saturday challenge. The cherry stamp is by Stampin Up and is part of the tart and tangy set. Going to take a ride to my local stamp store this afternoon. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday. Until later..........

BUTTERFLIES

Hi, it's finally Friday! Hope it's a good one for you. This card was made for the color and layout challenge of SCS this week. The layout is pretty simple of I like it. Going to play with the Cricut today, so maybe I will have a card with some of the stuff I cut out with it soon. Thanks for stopping by. Until later.........

WILD THING

Hello and hope your having a good Thursday. What a nice day today, a little sun and mild temps. Supposed to be warmer still tomorrow, but hold on, snow predicted for the weekend! I wanted to play with my new Cricut today, but no time. I got a cartridge that I ordered in the mail too. Today's stamp is by PSX. I stamped it three times. Once on the Top Note die cut piece, and two more times on white cardstock. I then cut the upper part of the body and popped it up over the original. Then, I cut out just the head and popped it up over the second piece. The paper is from a new paper pack by DCWV called Safari Chic. Thanks for stopping by, until later..........

The Promise of Love

Whew! I worked 10 1/2 hours today, so didn't get to stamp until now! I was so tired last night when I got home from work, I ate, showered and went to bed. And to think that just one year ago , I did this 6 days a week! Yikes. This stunning stamp was purchased at convention unmounted, and I don't remember who I bought it from, I am guessing Stamp Camp, or Beeswax. I stamped in black dye ink on glossy paper. The stamp is textured to give it a look of an old photo. The dress and veil come out so pretty. I just introduced color with markers. The background paper is by K and Company, the hearts by Hero Arts, and the words were along the edge of the background paper! Thanks for stopping by to take a peek. Until later.........

You've Got Mail

Hi. I'm off to work today and tomorrow. It is cold here, but supposed to have our January thaw (I know, it's February) for the next two days. This card is for the Monday, House Mouse challenge. I stamped the flowers and colored them and popped them up on the original image. On the raindrops, I put liquid pearl, then sprinkled white sparkly glitter on them. The word stamp is an Endless Creations and I cut it up to place the words in two places. The doily border is an edge punch by Martha Stewart. Backgound paper is by Nana's Kids paper pack. The silver heart is a button with the shank cut off. Hope your having a great Tuesday. Until later..........

BUNNY IN FLOWERS

Good morning. It's Monday again. My kids are back to school after a week off (and not thinking much of it I might add) They packed alot into the week and they are lucky little kids. They learned to ski. Rick's youngest brother, Jim, works at Holiday Valley and he met them on Wednesday for a day of skiing. Neither of the kids had ever skied. He was so excited that they did so well and caught on so quickly. Heidi and Brian both ski, so Jim was very excited to have the whole family down there with him for the day. He called on Friday night and went on and on about their day. My husband is from a family of four boys, and Jim is the youngest. When our daughter Heidi was born, he was not impressed (he was 11), that is until he saw her and held her. And, doesn't it turn out that she looks alot like him and my Mom noticed the resemblance in the nursery at the hospital, so he has a soft spot for her. Today's card is a cute bunny, by Inkadinkado, the word stamp is by A Country Welcome. The designer paper is by Me and My Big Ideas. The scrolls are a die from sizzix. Thanks for stopping in, Until later......

Spring Birds

This is a picture of the inside.
Welcome in. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek. Today's card is by Uptown Rubber Stamps. I love the saying on the stamp. And goodness knows that we are all waiting for Spring to arrive around here. We got about two inches to snow on the ground again. The border is done with a fiskars border punch and I did it once on the black designer paper and again on a piece of cardstock that matches the card. Have a great Sunday. Until later.......

GET WELL SOON

Hi, happy Saturday. Hope everyone is enjoying their day. We had sun today, and even though it was cold, it felt so nice to see the sun out. Kind of lazy here today. I slept in this morning, then woke with a headache. But that's gone now, and have had a little time to stamp. Today's card is a Penny Black (1998) I stamped and colored the image on linen cardstock. I used the coluzzle to cut the oval. The card was run through a Marvy crimper that makes a diamond pattern. I did this card for the Penny Black Saturday challenge. Have a great rest of your Saturday, Until later...........

Hello, Come in and Sit Down

Hi, it's finally Friday! It's snowing and blowing it around like crazy outside, and it got cold again. The pond fish have to be so confused! Today's card is a stamp by PSX. It's a simple stamp, but I like the shape of the different chairs. Hope you do too. Thanks for stopping by, have a great Friday. Until later...............

WHERE I STAMP

I did some major cleaning and got rid of some things because it is getting very crowded in my stamp room, so I thought I would share with you where I stamp, because it won't look like this for long. This leads into the back room. The white cabinets hold chipboard, flowers, ribbon, and paper. The back room has my Christmas stamps, my sizzix stuff and out of the picture my sewing machine.

The front room is where I stamp. The hutch Personal Stamp Exchange cabinet was purchased from a local florist when they were no longer going to sell rubber stamps. I was absolutely thrilled to get them, and as you know, PSX has since gone out of business so they are even dearer to me.

The two matching wooden cabinets are the best purchase I ever made. There are fourteen wooden lift out drawers in each that hold two rows of stamps in each. They are full!

The table is a conference room table that I got from my friend when she downsized her office space and this table was too big. It is very heavy and solid, so it's a great stamping surface.
I spend alot of time here now, and if I could I would spend more, it's always a luxury to be able to spend time in here creating.

Just Ducky

Hello. Thanks so much for stopping by today. Tomorrow morning I have a "play date" with my dear friend Tammy who is coming over and bringing her cricut. I am so excited to see her again and, am I going to want a cricut after I get to try hers? Today's card is a really sweet stamp by Whiff of Joy. I ordered several stamps from them after seeing them on the internet. I especially like this one because it's a little boy. Men and boys don't get nearly the attention as women and girls on stamps! The designer paper is by Debbie Mumm, Nursery Rhyme paper pack. Cuddlebug folder of circles used for background on stamped image. Getting some light snow today. Until later..........

Our Sympathy

Can you believe it is the 18th already? Where does the time go. We are supposed to have snow for the next four days, no real accumulation, but cold and snowy. Most people are just plain tired of it by now. Today's card is a sympathy card I made for our dear goddaughter and her husband. They lost their father (her father-in-law) last week. We just wanted them to know we are thinking of them and that we are keeping their family in our prayers. I'm off to work again tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by. Until later..........

RELAX

Hello. It's off to work Tuesday. Rick's surgery for his shoulder has been scheduled for March 2nd. Will be glad when it is over and he can start his recovery. Today's card is for the Monday, House Mouse Challenge. It was a sketch challenge, and it was a fun layout to work with. I had this piece of printed vellum with lilacs on it for a long time (from K&Company) and this was the perfect time to use it. Hope everyone has a good Tuesday, thanks for stopping in. Until later..........

BLOOM

Good morning. Happy Presidents Day. Maybe you're going shopping for some sale bargains today, or you have the day off, or your off to work for the week. Whatever the case hope you're having a good Monday. Thanks for stopping to have a look. Had a good early dinner with dear friends yesterday. Was so good to see my friend Carol, out and about after a long trying illness.
She looked tired, but we had a nice visit and dinner. She even made one of her signature cakes and brought it for dessert! Delish. Today's card is a stamp by Stamp City USA. I did this card for the Inspiration challenge on split coast stampers. Have a great day. Until later............

Spring Kittens

Hello, happy Sunday. Hope you're able to have an extra hour of sleep , read the paper and grab an exta cup of coffee this morning. Having some old friends over today for an early dinner and a visit. My friend Carol has been having a bad time of it lately with a medical condition, and she and her husband are going to venture out, so we can visit and catch up. Hope this visit is the start of her recovery. Looking forward to seeing her. Today's card is a Penny Black stamp that I did for the Saturday Penny Black challenge. This is the first time that I did this stamp, as I just ordered several new ones from Penny Black. The layout of the card was the challenge, and it was a fun layout to work with. Have a great day. Until later..............

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day! I saved the best for last. I love this stamp and have used it alot. It is by Stampland. See cupid on the back of the boat! I am tired of the red and pink thing, so decided to use orchid and turquois. I colored with markers and chalks. Is this romantic or what!!!!!! Hope your with those you love today.

On a more serious note, the plane that crashed near the Buffalo International Airport on Thursday evening was only about 10 miles from our home. The shock and sadness of this tragedy has left Buffalo and the surrounding communities numb. Fifty people lost their lives. While you are celebrating your loved ones tomorrow on Valentines Day, remember those who have lost a family member in your prayers, and be grateful for those that surround you. Until later.....

MEOW

Hi, it's finally Friday! I talked to my BFF in Texas tonight, so good to have a long talk and catch up (love ya Missy). This card is a wood mounted stamp that I bought at a local stamp store years ago and it has no company identified. It is actually heart-shaped. The word stamp on the front is by Verses. Inside it says "Have a cat-kind of day, do anything you damn well please" and is a stamp by Stamp Cabana. Designer papers are by Basic Gray (Ambrosia). Love those kitties. Until later.............

Your Beautiful

Hi, it's Thursday. No post yesterday, because when I got home from work, I had no phone or online service from Verizon. We have this problem whenever it rains hard for a long time or have high winds, and yesterday we had both. We have had them out here several times and nothing ever gets fixed........frustrating. So, on to today's card. The stamp is Ducks in a Row. The words are by Cloud 9. The heart shaped buttons were in a valentine package I received from my stamping friend Cathy in Arizona (Thanks Cathy) Hope your Thursday is dry. Until later.........

OOPS

Hi everyone. The news from the MRI wasn't good. Rick has a torn rotator cuff. He will have surgery to repair it ASAP. Then rehab at home for several weeks. He is in alot of pain, so we look forward to getting the surgery over with and moving forward with rehab and recovery. Today's card is a stamp by Magenta. I have made so many frilly Valentines, I was looking to make a simple card tonight without a lot of layers and embellishments. I looked through my stamps for a stamp that tells a story and can stand alone and I chose the kitty knocking the plant over. I hope you like it for a change. Tell me what you think. Back tomorrow with another "loaded card" haha. Until later................

BEST BIRTHDAY

It's Tuesday, and I am off to work the next two days. The weather here is expected to get to 50 tomorrow and 60 on Wednesday. Cathy, a stamping friend I exchange cards and ideas with who lives in Arizona, emailed me tonight and said it was only going to be 60 tomorrow, so the furnace would run all night. I emailed her back and told her our temps and how excited we were to be above freezing and have some of the snow cover melting away. I see that it depends on your prospective how weather affects us all. Today's card is a tall card which I made for the house mouse monday challenge. The hats and the cupcake are punches. I put alot of sparkle on the card, but the camera didn't pick it up. If you click on the picture to make it bigger, you will see it. Hope you have a fabulous Tuesday. Until later.............

LOVE

It's Monday. Today, Rick is having an MRI on his shoulder to see what is wrong since he fell on December 30th and still has pain. Originally they thought it was just badly bruised on the inside, but now are concerned that something is torn or injured. Update tomorrow! Today I finished all my candy bars for my two grandkids and Heidi's classrooms for Valentines Day. Decorated 72 candy bars in all. Heidi has told her class that I was making them a surprise and they are excited to see what it is (they are in first grade). Today's card is a card I did for the challenge at SCS. The only stamp you could use to make your card is a word stamp. The words on this card are from a small two stamp set I bought at AC Moore for $ 1.00. Don't you just love what it says? I hope your having a great day and I appreciate that you came in today to take a peek. Thanks for looking and leave me a comment. Until later........

SWEET TREATS 2

Made some more Valentines Treats today. Will walk you through each one:

Candy box was purchased in the cake decorating department at Michaels, or Joanns. Holds 1/2 pound of candy. I cut a strip of designer paper and trimmed the top edge with decorative sissors and glued around the bottom of the box. Strip is about 1 inch wide. Ran a 3 inch square of pink cs through a cb folder and glued lace to the edges and glued to the top of the box. The heart stamp is by Magenta. Tied a ribbon around the box. Glued a little heart charm to center of bow. You can do so many things with these boxes and they are pretty inexpensive.

Filled a cello bag with jelly hearts. Cut a piece of white cs a little longer than the size of the bag, and about 5 inches wide. Fold in half. Decorated 1/2 the card stock with bugs and stamped the saying (bugawumps). Staple the folded card stock to the top of the bag and add ribbon.

Another box from the candy making department (Wilton). Has the see through window in the box when purchased. I cut a piece of card stock to cover the front, cutting out the oval. Glue lace around the oval. Heart is a sizzlet that cuts and embosses, I used a dimentional to pop it up. I cut a smaller heart and stamped it with the words a dollar stamp from Michaels. Tied a ribbon around the box at the top.

I used a round doily and formed a cone. I cut another circle of cs a little smaller than the doily, and also formed a cone and taped shut. Put the cs cone inside the doily cone and tape in a couple of places to hold in place. I put tissue paper in the bottom of the cs cone. I inserted lollipops in the cone and taped in place. Punched two hearts and stamped on them and hung from ribbon from a multi-looped ribbon. The heart shaped lollipops were purchased at the dollar store.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope your Sunday is restful.

Hope you liked seeing these. I think I am done, except I am going to make chocolate covered popcorn and I have some small popcorn boxes to decorate and fill. Will post a picture when I do. Until later...........
