Sick Sally

Happy Hump Day!  WOW, saw pictures on the news this morning of the Tornado's in the US, what is going on with our weather!!! So much destruction in just a few minutes.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the people affected by these severe storms.

Today's card is for the Challenge at Sassy Cheryls, # 104, theme, Seeing Spots.
I used a Sassy Cheryl digi called Sick Sally.  Poor little one has a cold, and seems like

Paper - Card base, The Paper Studio, Kaleidoscope Stack
Dotted paper, Reflections, Michael's
Die Cut for image, Spellbinders, Die for swirls, Cheery Lyn.

HOUSE MOUSE AND FRIENDS MONDAY CHALLENGE #114

Time for another House Mouse and Friends Monday
 Challenge, #114.

The theme for this challenge, chosen by our talented and fun-loving teammate, Lori Bennett, is:
Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice.  Seems Lori is going to be a new Grandma soon, and it's a girl, so she wants us to create something to celebrate a little girl in your life.

I used this adorable Happy Hoppers Stamp.  Are these bunnies cute or what?

And created a sweet little picture frame for a sweet little girl in my life.
The picture is of my Granddaughter, Megan.  I purchased the picture frame at Michael's for a dollar. It's made of wood too!  I covered the entire frame with Pool Party card stock from Stampin Up.
I then colored and cut out my stamped image and popped it up on the frame with a Action Wobbler, so it jiggles when you move the frame.  Cut borders for the top and bottom from card stock.  Corners are a die from Sizzix.  The heart die around the frame is Cheery Lyn.  Sentiment is computer generated.
Used a white Sharpie Poster Paint Pen to dot the entire frame.  Added pearls, and a bow.

I glued white satin ribbon around the edge of the frame,  then a coordinating lace
to finish it off.

BSS MONDAY IDEA - HOLLY BERRY HOUSE MEDALLION EGG STAMPS

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

This week's idea is to use one of the Holly Berry House Medallion Egg Stamps.
These make beautiful Easter Cards and Projects.

I used pastel colored card stock and stamped the egg medallion four times, once on each color, blue, green, yellow, and pink. I stamped with versamark clear watermark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder.

I then cut different layers out of the different colors and popped them up layer by layer.
I used a coordinating color glitter on each layer.

The chick border is Martha Stewart.
The egg stamp by Holly Berry House is # 1530-0, Columbine Egg.
Sizzix embossing folder, yellow satin ribbon, and pearls by Melissa Frances.
Inside sentiment, Printworks E1143 (Happy Easter)

I used distress inks to ink up the edges of each layer of the egg with a coordinating color.

These eggs are fun to create and make a stunning card.

BSS MONDAY CHALLENGE - DIFFUSERS AND DISTRESS MARKERS

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

Today, Sharon has asked me to show you some new product that she has on
order from her recent trip to CHA.

Note:  you can click on any picture to get a close up look.

The Tim Holtz Embossing Diffuser Set # 1
Consists of three acrylic templates, a circle, a small oval and a large oval.
Each template has the circle or oval insert. When you use the template with an embossing folder
without the insert, your paper is embossed completely, leaving the shape blank on your paper.
When you use the shape insert alone with an embossing folder, just the shaped area is embossed.

Here are some examples:

This is the first card, closed. I used the small oval template with the swiss dot embossing folder.
Only the portion of the template with the oval hole is left unembossed.

This is a tri fold card, so I could show you how each of the templates in the package work.
On the second panel, I used the large oval template and a plaid Sizzix embossing folder.
Only the cut out oval is left blank. On the third panel, I used a cuttlebug embossing folder with the circle template. The stamp set used on this card is My Favorite Things, Fred Bear Gives Comfort.
Paper is Annalee from Prima. I used the Ranger sponge applicator to add Adirondack Ink, Meadow and Stonewashed to add color to the embossing. I colored with the new, Ranger Distress Markers, and used a Dove Blender to shade.

On this card, I used the circle cut out only, so that when you emboss using an embossing folder, only the circle is embossed. This is a Sizzix, stripped embossing folder. Stamp is from Inky Antics, B163. The inside sentiment is from Great Impressions. Colored with new Distress Markers pictured above, and used a Dove Blender to shade.

I used the small oval insert only with the Dotted Swiss embossing folder, so that only the oval is embossed. The butterfly is Stampendous, the inside sentiment is My Sentiments Exactly. Inside punched butterflies is EK Success Border punch. Colored with new Distress Markers and used the Dove Blender to shade.

I used the large oval insert only when I embossed on the gold mirror paper.
Only the large oval is embossed. The flower is from Outlines Rubber Stamp Co. I colored with new Distress Markers from Ranger pictured above. Sprayed the flower with Perfect Pearls Gold and water from a mini mister. The inside sentiment is from Penny Black.

These are fun to use and you can place the shape anywhere on your paper. So versatile.
They are coming soon.

There is a video demonstration by the man himself, Tim Holtz at CHA demonstrating
the markers and the diffusers
Thanks Krystie,  for this information.

And lastly, new embossing folders are also coming:

This one is from Crafts Concepts, called Sophia's Garden.
Colored with shimmery chalks. Inside Sentiment is Hero Arts.

Such a beautiful Spring design!

Hope you enjoyed this little preview of some of the new things that will be showing up in the store.
Check the blog on a regular basis, as Sharon is posting items as they come in.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great Monday.  Until later.........
