Mermaid

CLOSE UP OF IMAGE

FRONT OF CARD

Hello, another record breaking HOT day!  Supposed to rain tomorrow and cool down.  Can't wait!!

Today's card is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC#61).  The mermaid is a stamp I purchased unmounted a long time ago and I have no idea whose stamp it is.  I used glossy white card stock for the ovals and colored them using the polished stone method, that is Ranger Alcohol inks pounced on the paper until you get the desired effect.  I was going for water so I used green and turquoise blue.  The seashells are from a larger stamp by Peddlers Pack.  On the inside I used the same stamp and words that I am also unable to identify the stamp company.  Lots of glitter and stickles and of course Kaiser pearls.

Hope you had a great Thursday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later............

Cold Watermelon

Close up of image.

Whew!  It is so darn HOT here!  Nobody is out and in their yards.  I went early this morning to my daughters to take care of the animals and it was 76 degrees!  This is Texas weather, not New York!
Supposed to get a break on Friday, only in the 80"s with rain.

Today's card is a digital image by Sassy Cheryl.  I am entering it in their weekly challenge, which this week is a sketch.  Is this image too cute or what!!  I colored with Copics.  The flowers are Prima.  The red dots are Martha Stewart.  Watermelon paper is by AC Patterned Paper, Backyard theme  Border punch is by EK Success.

Hope you have a great Thursday.  Seems like the entire US is experiencing high temps, so hope you can stay cool. Thanks for stopping by.  Until later........

House Mouse Challenge #73 -HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA

FRONT OF CARD

INSIDE OF CARD

Welcome to the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #73.  This challenge is a surprise for our Teammate, America Kuhn.  Her birthday was July 4th. So the challenge this time is to make a birthday card.

America is taking the summer off to travel from Washington State to New York State with her family.  It is also a cross-country move for them.  So to let her know we are thinking of her, the design team has made birthday cards for her, as she will be checking in to the challenge site while on her journey.

Since her birthday was July 4th, I decided to go with red, white and blue and stars and stripes, And as you can see, the little Gruffie is all set to serve up the cake for this special occasion.

I colored with Copic Markers.  The stars were cut on my Big Shot using a sizzix die.  I added a little bling to the stars with some rhinestone stars in the centers.  The Frame is from Spellbinders.  Inside I have used the Stampin' Up Top Note die and stamped some fireworks and embossed with tinsel red embossing powder.
The sentiment is by Dacie's.

To check out the other birthday cards for America, go to the House Mouse and Friends Challenge blog and have a peek.........they are outstanding!  And while you're at it, dust off a house mouse stamp and enter the challenge.  It runs through Sunday, July 18th.  We are offering a House Mouse Stamp as a prize for this challenge.

Happy Birthday, America, enjoy every minute of your trek across the United States to your new home with your family.  Hope there is a delicious cake and some cool ice cream. And, best wishes for many more happy healthy birthdays...............

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great Monday.  Until later...................

BSS Monday Challenge-New Shoes

Paper Shoes!

Good Monday Morning and welcome to another Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Challenge.  While wandering around on several blogs, I came across these wonderful paper shoes.  The pattern and a great video tutorial can be seen at www.artfulaffirmations.blogspot.com/2010/01/elegant-shoe-tutorial.html.
They go together simply and have a lot of potential when it comes to dressing them up.  I have used Prima flowers, but there are so many other things you could do.  I also want to play with changing the pointy toe to a rounded toe for another different look.  These little shoes would be so cute for table decorations.  A nice chocolate bar wrapped in coordinating paper and tied with a bow would slip into the shoe nicely.

Hope you have time to pick up the pattern and watch the tutorial and make some shoes!

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great Monday.  Until later.......

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY - INDEPENDENCE DAY 2010

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Hope everyone enjoys the day with family and friends.  Stay safe, as I write someone is setting off fireworks in their backyard, and my dog is anxious, she hates them, and they are illegal in NYS.

Remember those serving our country and their families.

Cupcake Gal - Sasha

Close up of Sasha Stamp

WOW, we are experiencing some hot humid weather again.  In the high 80's and low 90's for the next week.
Too hot for me, especially when it comes with high humidity, so sticky!  We did some yard work today before it got real hot.  Since we are babysitting the furbabies at my daughters while they are on vacation, we ordered take out and went there so they had some company for a couple of hours.  They are very lonely.

I received this darling stamp (Pink in Ink) called Sasha from my stamping friend, Cathy in Glendale, Arizona today in the mail along with a beautiful Fourth of July card (Thanks friend).  So I decided to use the stamp for today's card.

The card base is Nana's Kids.  The lace border is Martha Stewart Punch.  The pink polka dot paper is My Minds Eye stack Pack.  The cupcake paper is DCWV Sweets Stack.  Ribbon is from my stash.  I colored her with Copic Markers.

Hope your Saturday was great.  Thanks for stopping by for a peek.  Until later............

Blowing Warm Wishes

Hi, it's finally Friday!  Weather is so nice, low humidity, cool at night, nice during the day.  So loving it.  About to change though, expecting high humidity and may get up to 90 over the weekend.

Today's card is for a brand new challenge.  It's called Totally Tilda.  You have to use a Tilda on your card!  It's starts on Sundays and runs for two weeks.  The challenge this time is to make a card using lots of browns and creams........Chocolate.

I have used this darling Tilda and the Dandelion stamp, a gift from my blogger friend, Stephanie, thanks so much girlfriend, I love them!!!  The papers are from Basic Gray, Origins.  The circle is cut from a culuzzle.  Oh, and the bunny came from Stephanie too!!  The flowers are from the Bridal Dept at Michaels.  Word stamp is from Stampabilities.

Have a great Friday.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Until later............
