Round Calendar

Hello. Hope you're having a great Tuesday. I'm going to lunch with friends today, so I'm posting early. I found the template for this 6" round calendar at http://www.papershapez.com/. I cut the back 6" circle and the front circle with decorative scissors because it is hard to cut a perfect circle with scissors. I printed the calendar middle section on colored paper. The sentiment is an old stamp and I believe the quote is by Eleanor Roosevelt and not Nancy Reagan. I distressed the edges of the sentiment circle.

This little calendar has so much potential. The template is not free, it was $ 1.99, but the calendar is included along with the different sized circles. If you printed the calendar in a light color you could highlight birthdays or other special days.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great Tuesday. Until tomorrow.................

BSS-Monday Challenge-Faux Stitching

Good Monday morning. Today's Buffalo Stamps and Stuff challenge is Faux Stitching. I have used two methods of faux stitching on this card. On the dog and cat print I used the Tim Holtz ruler to punch small wholes evenly spaced around the edge of the image. Then I used a gel pen to connect the wholes being sure to go into each whole. On the heart, I went around the edge with the same gel pen and made small dots and again connected the dots to look like stitching.
This adds interest to your card and only takes a few minutes.
The dog and cat stamp and the sentiment are both by Inky Antics. The papers I used are from Making Memories, Love Notes Stack. I used the Tim Holtz distressing tool to distress the edges of the paper. A sponge dauber was used to sponge light pink around the image.
and it also shows how to do a couple of other styles of faux stitching.
Hope you get a chance to do some faux stitching soon. Thanks for stopping by. Until later.......

Audrey Award

I just had to share with you this morning. Yesterday I was chosen for the Audrey Award over at the Cinema Saturday Challenge! I'm so excited and flattered. I was totally inspired by my blogging friend Julia to enter this challenge. I have been enjoying her entries each week for months and never joined in. The movie challenge was Chronicles of Narnia - The lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I chose to make a card using the beautiful Lion Stamp from Magenta (scroll down to see it).

I will display this award proudly and can't thank Sankari and Brooke enough for flattering me with it. I so can't wait to see what the next movie challenge will be!!!

New Baby

Hi. It's finally the weekend. Today's card is a Magnolia Stamp. I'm not sure what the name of it is, because they are packaged all the same with no index or name on them. I have colored the image with Copic Markers. I glittered the wings and the edges of the scallops on which she is mounted. The papers I used are from the Nana's Nursery Paper stack. The embossed pleated paper is by K & Company, Brenda Walton. The border punch is by Martha Stewart.
I made the card for the following challenges:
Roses on Paper (http://www.ropchallenge.blogspot.com/) _ Use your favorite color medium
Just Magnolia (http://www.justmagnolia.blogspot.com/) - Paper pleating
Hope you have a great start to the weekend. Thanks for stopping by. Until later.................

Bunny Love

Hello. Hope your day is going well. It has been snowing lightly for two days. Not alot of accumulation, but just enough to make driving a mess. And it turned cold again. I was up at 5 am and the snow just glistened and out of the field came five young deer. They just stood in the street and looked at me, as if to say "do you have anything for us" It is illegal to feed them! But you have to feel sorry for them, they are hungry.
Today's card is an image by High Hopes Stamps. I ordered about 5 stamps from them about a year ago and it took forever to get them, I mean months. They have since stopped selling them direct. Seven Kids College Fund sells them online now. The sketch is from the High Hopes challenge blog. The papers are from the Madly in Love Stack by DCWV. The heart is machine embroidered by my very own sister! I am entering this card at High Hopes (http://www.highhopesstamps.blogspot.com/), ABC Challenge (http://www.abc-challenge.blogspot.com/), which calls for layering and Cute Card Thursday Challenge (http://www.cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/), which asks you to use something new, which would be the papers from DCWV, which I just bought on Wednesday.
Enjoy the rest of the day. Until later..............................

The Lion

Hello. Happy Wednesday. I had to run out today and run some errands. Would have rather stayed in. But, did get to use my gift card from Rick that I got for Christmas for the craft store. Got some Valentines paper and a couple of stamps and some stuff on clearance. Went and got some large totes that were on sale, my New Years resolution is to clean out and organize!!! We'll see!

Today's card is for the Cinema Saturday Challenge. (http://www.cinemasaturdaycreativechallenge.blogspot.com/) The challenge this week is the movie, The Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. This Lion stamp is by Magenta Rubber Stamps of Canada. He is just the most beautiful stamp and I only got him when my sister decided to get rid of her stamps and I got him from her. I colored him with Prisma Colored pencils. He's framed with an embossed purchased frame and mounted on metallic gold cardstock. I glittered the embossing on the white frame. The sentiment stamp is by Paper Bag Studios. I've kept this card pretty simple because the image deserves center stage!

Hope your Wednesday was good. Thanks for stopping by. Until later..................
