FISHY FRIENDS - FUZZY WUZZY CHALLENGE - JANUARY 2011

Welcome to the January 2011 Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge.

Our challenge this month, chosen by Kylie is - ANYTHING GOES

After a busy holiday season, we thought it would be good to just let everyone do their own thing.

I chose this Precious Moments image of the Octopus with the fish.  I colored with Copics. I ran the die cut shape (Sizzix, Tim Holtz collection) through the Sizzix water embossing folder.  I cut a circle from glittery white paper.  The little fish are from a small punch.  Flowers and swirls is also a Sizzix die cut, as well as the oval with the word friend.  The border punch is by Martha Stewart.  The sentiment was a free digital stamp.
Background paper was run through a bubble embossing folder. Lots of Star Dust Stickles used.

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Hello, hope your Wednesday is going well.  Snow has stopped, just enough to cover the ground, but more expected for the next couple.  If you're someplace cold, stay warm, if your someplace warm, you're lucky!!

My card today is for the challenge at Crafting Life's Pieces # 32, it's a sketch challenge.
I used a Gurlee Girl stamp by the owner of the CLP Challenge, Chelsea.  I have had this stamp for awhile, and never inked her up, go figure!!

The papers are by Cosmo Cricket.  The gingham is a top note die by Stampin up. Hearts are a cluster by Reflections at Michael's.  The flowers are from the bridal department at Michael's.

Have a fantastic rest of the day.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later.............

GOOD SKATES

Hi, hope you're having a good Tuesday.  It's snowing here today, big giant flakes!
It had rained and all the Christmas snow was gone, but now the ground is covered again!

I used the sketch at Just Us Girls Challenge # 65.  The papers are from S.E.I., Winter Song. The stamp is from Rubber Cottage, Medina, Ohio.  I stamped the image with onyx black Versafine ink and embossed with clear embossing powder on textured white card stock.  I colored with Copic Markers.  Stamped snowflakes with frayed burlap distress ink, stamps Martha Stewart.  Punched snowflakes with rhinestone centers.  Brown card stock is run through snowflake embossing folder.  Tim Holtz frame.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great rest of the day.  Until later..............

BSS MONDAY IDEA - DISTRESSED NEWPAPER PRINT

Hi, and welcome to the Monday Buffalo Stamps and Stuff  Idea.  I saw this technique HERE. It's Gina K on her techniques network, so I thought I would give it a go.

A close up of the distressed newspaper print.

I had this super cute image of Tilda with the newspapers and it was just perfect for this project!
I hadn't had a chance to ink her up yet, so this was the perfect card.

Kept the card simple to highlight the distressed newsprint.  I colored Tilda with Copic Markers.  I used ivory and pink card stock to make the nesties scalloped ovals with my Spellbinder dies.  Added small plain brads and a tiny bow.  It's a great technique to use on guy cards too, that's what you will see on the link to the video.

Hope you have a chance to try this technique.  Have a great Monday.

I'm posting this a bit early because House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge is having a blog hop beginning at 6 a.m. tomorrow so I didn't want this post to get lost.

Thanks for stopping by.  Until later.............

RED RIPE STRAWBERRIES

Hello, I'm back.  Very busy week after Christmas, lots of company and a birthday dinner.
Hope everyone's holidays were special.  Now to get everything put away and un-decorate!

Today's card is for the challenge at Just Magnolia - week 87 - Anything goes!
Not a Magnolia stamp you say, well beginning with this challenge they are incorporating hAnglar-sTanglar stamps in their challenges!!

I have used this darling image of the girl with the strawberry.

I used a cuddlebug embossing plus folder, Carly, and cut it from a piece of beautiful blue card stock, then popped her up into the oval it created.  The strawberries are felt Martha Stewart and were a gift from a friend.  Flowers are a punch and a circle.  The vine is a Sizzix die.  Tucked a paper doily in the sides.  The sentiment is from a Hampton Arts clear stamp set.  I colored with Copic markers.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a nice weekend.  Until later................
