CELEBRATE

Getting ready to celebrate New Year's Eve? Rick slipped and fell at work yesterday and landed on his shoulder. Very sore. Had an X-ray this morning will get the results tomorrow. Hoping just bruised. We both had trouble sleeping last night because he could not get comfy, so he ended up sleeping in the recliner in the living room. Got some pain meds today, so hoping he can sleep in the bed tonight. This is a cute stamp from House Mouse Designs. Looks like they are ready to party! Hope you have a safe and fun New Years. Until later........

GETTING READY FOR NEW YEAR'S EVE

Hello, hard to go back to work after such a nice long Christmas holiday. We are busy getting ready for tax season, so the office is abuzz! Starting next week, I will be retired. I am going to work two days a week through April 15th, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Will be such a change for me, for the past 25 years I have worked 50-60 hours a week during tax season. I am ready for the change and look forward to being able to stamp more and would like to get on a design team or teach some classes. We'll see. Today's stamp is a riot. It's from Stamps Happen. Looks like this lady got caught with her fingers in the martinis! The mat on the card is done using reinkers on a sponge, ala Dee Grunig. I was playing with those things and made some sheets of designs to use later. The little side glasses are a punch! Until later.............

FAT SNOWMEN LAST LONGER!

Hi. It's Sunday already. Time flies whether your having fun or not! The water situation from yesterday has abated, thank heaven, but some people aren't so lucky who live near streams and creeks. Alot of water from the melting snow from last week and warm temps this week. The weather is so wacky. This card is a stamp from Rubber Cottage, Medina, Ohio. I love this snowman (I love all snowmen!) And the saying is from Morning Star Stamps (don't you just love that saying?) Have a great Sunday. Until later......

PRETTY PASTELS

Hello! What a day we had today. Had water in the basement. We never have water in the basement, but the ground is so saturated that a main drain that was built into a covered area in the basement bathroom was flowing like an open tap. We spent awhile mopping and using the shop vac trying to find out where it was coming in. Rick ran and got a plug to cover it then we spent a couple hours cleaning up. What a mess a little water can make! I made today's card because I felt like something other than red and green and Christmas. I am sure I will go back to snowmen and winter, but for now, flowers and pastel colors sounded nice. The stamp is an oldie by Stampendous (1996). Hope you are enjoying this holiday weekend. Until later..........

JOY TO THE WORLD

The day after........Is everyone tired. Wow, all that shopping, wrapping, cooking, baking, and it's over. Everyone was happy with their gifts, so makes it all worthwhile. I am really looking forward to today. I am going into the studio to put the Christmas away, except the snowmen, of course. And clean up, lots of stuff on the table and around the room on the floor. This beautiful stamp is by Paper Inspirations, I believe, at the moment I can't find the stamp. If I'm wrong, I will fix this post later. Such a sweet stamp and fun to make into a card. I gave the card to someone at work, and she loved it! The paper is by Me and My Big Ideas. Hope everyone can get some rest and relaxation over the weekend. Until later.....

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Merry Christmas! Just wanted to wish everyone a very happy holiday. We are awaiting a call from our Grandkids to go over and celebrate the morning. Last night my family came and we had a visit from Santa himself. Megan and Michael were very excited to see him. Enjoy your day with those you love. Until later

Christmas Eve

Wow, it's Christmas Eve Day! Working until 1 pm then we go to lunch then home. Having my family over tomorrow night, so worked to get most stuff prepped tonight. Looking forward to
relaxing on Friday and Saturday. Will need to do some major cleaning in my studio to put away all the Christmas so I can start making different theme cards. Today's card shows the duties of Santa when he gets to your house. Down the chimney he goes, picks just the right gifts for everyone, puts them neatly under your Christmas tree, then on to the next house. Have a great day and a wonderful Christmas Eve. Hope you're with those you love. Until later....

OH, CHRISTMAS TREE

Hi. Well, the weather has calmed down and left us with about 16 inches of snow around the house and yard. Supposed to get to 40 on Wednesday with rain, that should create a mess. Today's card is a stamp by Stamps Happen. Even though you can't see the faces of these two little ones, you can image how sweet they must look starring at the Christmas Tree. The border around the card is made with stick stamps from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. I cut a diamond shape with the sizzix machine then used the stensil part to brush light blue ink in the center to highlight the tree. When I was all finished, I embossed a transparent embossing powder that shimmers. Click on the picture to see it larger to get that effect. Hope everyone can keep that childlike wonder at seeing the Christmas tree, despite the hustle and bustle. Until later.....

BEST GIFTS

Good Morning. We are really getting some winter weather. Blowing and drifting snow is causing all kinds of problems this morning for driving. I'm headed out shortly, ugh! Today's card is a great stamp by Stamp Happens. Their stamps stamp so nice, I love them. The border at the top and bottom is ribbon. The hearts are punched. I chalked the background and the cardstock is by Me and My big ideas Christmas pack. Gotta go get bundled up and face the cold. Until later......

HAPPY HOLLY DAYS

Only four days til Christmas! Supposed to get more snow today and high winds, not a good combo. We had ten inches on Friday and just got that cleaned up! Welcome Winter. Today's card is from Stamp Happens. The background paper is from K & Company, Christmas Cheer. I made the card for a challenge on split coast stampers. I had the stamp out to make a card and it worked with the sketch challenge! I started with a red card, cut the background paper to size I wanted and glued in place, then added the stamped image popped up in the center. Hope you have a great Sunday. Some rest would be nice. Until later......

GOOD ADVISE ANYTIME

Hi. Hope you're enjoying Saturday. We went out and dug out this morning and got all the snow out of the driveway and walks. Supposed to get another blast on Monday. Today's card is good advise anytime, but especially during the holidays. The stamp is by Endless Creations and I stamped it on the Top Note die cut from Stampin Up. The cardstock is by Me and my big ideas.
The chipboard "Peace" is by K & Company, Christmas Cheer Chipbox. I was mentioned on the card of the week website for the No Peeking card! I'm thrilled....Until later.....

NO PEEKING!

Hi. Snow is falling at a rate if 2 to 3 inches per hour. We have about 8 to 10 inches on the ground! Wind is supposed to kick up to 40 or 50 miles per hour tonight. Yikes! I had my dear friends from high school for our Christmas lunch today. What a nice time, except our friend Carol was unable to attend because she was ill. Thinking of you Carol! The snowman on todays card is saying no peeking until Christmas! He is by Uptown Rubber Stamps. The border is a Magenta Stamp. Until later....

A Mouse in the House

Hi. I just had to show you these cute little mice. Thanks to Dawns Stamping Thoughts web site.
She shared the template to make these cute guys. The minute I saw them, I knew I had to make a bunch for my daughter's first grade class for Christmas. They are just going to "eat them up"! If you want to make some too, go to dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com. On the left side of the blog there is All Dawns Videos, click on that and then pick mouse candy cane holder. She has the template and the video of how to make them. The template is at dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com/MOUSE.pdf Until later............

CAROLERS

Wow, if I was any later posting today, it would be tomorrow! I'm just not getting all the things that need to be done finished! What a crazy time of the year. We try to fit too much into the time we have to do everything. Today's card is a scene by Magenta. I brayered a piece of glossy cardstock with a big and juicy ink pad. I then stamped with black dye ink. The sheet music I downloaded for free and distressed with a dark brown ink pad. Gotta go to bed now. Until later.....

NEW SNOWFALL

Good Morning.......9 days till Christmas! Sure did creep up fast. Today's card is a beautiful stamp of a little girl enjoying the snowfall. The stamp is by B Line Design and the words are by Serendipity Stamps. I colored with colored pencils, stamped the image with navy blue. Mounted on a pink textured card. I like the soft untraditional Christmas colors..hope you do too.
Until later.......

WARM MITTENS

It's Monday. Raining cats and dogs today, but 55 degrees this morning. I'm on my way to an IRS year end update, YUCK! But, since I am retiring soon, this will be my last one! YEAH! Today's card is a pair of mittens. I love the saying that I bought to go with. Snowflake is a cuddlebug folder and die cut set and I just love these! Hope you have a great Monday. Until later......

Just Arrived

Just a quick post to show my dear friend Clara in Austin that we received the beautiful Christmas wreath she sent and have it on the french doors. It smells so good and is so pretty. Thank you so much Missy, we love it and the whole house smells wonderful!!! Remember that cowboy you brought us last time you came??? Doesn't he fit in the center of that wreath perfect? Love ya.

Here Kitty Kitty

Good Sunday to you. I have a busy day today, so let's get right to the card. It is, of course, a Kliban Cat design. I don't think they are being made any more, but I love this little guy sticking out of the stocking. This was a sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock with a red deckled edge. I just folded it three times, not all equal, and left the deckle edge for decoration. I stamped the cat and colored and cut out the design and mounted it on the card with pop dots. I like the Merry Christmas which goes in the vertical. Card fits in a standard #10 envelope, in fact it is addressed and going out to a friend for Christmas! Because of blogging daily, this is the most cards I ever made and sent out, and each one is a one of a kind card! Until later...

IT'S ALL ABOUT SNOWMEN

Hello. I just had to show you this little snowman gift tag. Nancy at our Stamp Club at Buffalo Stamps and Stuff, brought each of us one. She went to a make and take and made it and decided to share with all of us. I made this one which is a little tweaked from the origianl, but the basic idea is the same. Isn't he adorable. It is made from the sizzix die cut, Top Note, and is distributed by Stampin Up only, which is so popular, that I ordered one a month ago and it is still backordered. The vintage ornament card, is by Paper Inspirations. Love the look of the little boy making the snowman. I have a whole collection of snowman stamps, which you will be seeing alot of in January! Have a great Saturday. Until later...........

A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE

Happy Friday! I feel like I am running 100 miles an hour and going nowhere. Yesterday I cleaned all day in anticipation of decorating this weekend. Thanksgiving being late this year has really thrown me a curve, Christmas just kind of came really quickly. Thank goodness I shopped early and wrapped. Today's card is a scene I built around the deer stamp. I love this stamp, because when you stamp it with one color, you get the different tones for each deer. See how the deer in the front is the darkest and then the other two become lighter! It's the texture they put on the rubber, but isn't it great? Do you have a feeling the carrot nose on the snowman isn't very safe with these hungry deer roaming around? Have a great day. Until later......

NEVER ENOUGH SHOPPING DAYS

Hello. Isn't it the truth, there are never enough shopping days until Christmas. I guess it is just in our nature to shop until we run out of time (and money). I am pretty much done, except a few gift cards I need to pick up and food shopping of course. And the best part is I am wrapped! I just need to decorate the house yet. Todays card is a wonderful stamp by Peddlers Pack and the saying is by Inkadinkado. This woman looks like she has finished!! Love the little dog. Hope you have a wonderful Thursday. Until later............

O Holy Night

Good Morning. Light snow is falling this morning, not supposed to get much. I enjoyed meeting my friend Tammy for a bite to eat and catching up on each others lives. Was so good to see you Tam, lets do it again soon. Today's card is a stamp by Northwoods. It's a great scene and it was fun to color. Hope you have a great Wednesday. Until later.........

SLEIGH AND REINDEER

Good Morning! Milder temperatures today. I'm meeting a stamping friend that I don't get to see often for dinner tonight. Looking forward to seeing her and getting a chance to catch up with what's going on with her. We met years ago in the rubber stamp aisle at Michaels and got together to stamp and have remained friends ever since. Isn't it funny how friends come into our lives in such unusual ways. I am old enough to be her Mom, but she doesn't treat me that way, and I just love her. Can't wait to see you, Tammy! Today's card is from one of my favorite stamp companies, Magenta! It is a very large stamp and makes a very large card. I stamped with black ink and embossed. I colored with Tombow Markers. I embossed the whole design with a glitter embossing powder. I cut out the bottom so the holly left a ragged edge. Until later....

SNOWMAN CUPCAKE

Oh yuck, it's Monday, my least favorite day. On my way to work, so will make this short. This little stamp is by Hero Arts and takes the really popular cupcake into the holiday season with the snowman. Hope you have a great Monday (if there is such a thing). Until later.....
