Out of Africa

Hi, Happy Tuesday. Today's card is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC8)http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/ I chose the stately Lion from Magenta Rubber Stamps. I stamped him with Onyx Versafine ink, on smooth white cardstock and colored him with Lyra Rembrandt colored pencils and a blender pen. Distressed the edges. We were at the Zoo last Friday and the male lion was sleeping in the sun. He looked like someone had brushed is mame, it was so beautiful. It started to rain slightly and the three lady lionesses in the exhibit headed for shelter and he stood up and watched the goings on then absolutely pranced up to where they were.......just a beautiful animal. We are fortunate to have a zoo so close to home. Did laundry today and I did some calligraphy place cards for a friend. Long time since I did some printing. Had to practice the night before to get the feel for it again. but now that I got it out and played with it again, I thought I might use it some cards soon. Hope your Tuesday is great. Thanks for stopping by. Until later...........

FLOATING KITTY

Monday, Monday. I washed, I dusted, I did laundry, I cooked, I'm pooped!! Had the kids over tonight for dinner so Heidi and Brian could go out and have dinner and celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary. Time Flies. Today's card is for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge. The Challenge was to make a card for a ill child. I selected a child from one of the two sites that
were suggested on Simon Says Stamp and will mail this card with a note and a picture of the blog dog (she likes dogs) tomorrow. The image is a Penny Black stamp and the sentiment is from House Mouse Designs. Hope your day went well. Thanks for Stopping by. Until later......

FROG HEAVEN

Hello, hope you are enjoying Sunday. It's raining here today again, but with the rain, the temps went down a little and not so muggy. Today's card is for the Penny Black challenge. This image is called Frog Farming. This is another vintage image which I just got from Dick at PB Stamps.
He got me everything I wanted, I was so excited. He has a great website www.pbstamps.com and carries a lot of the vintage retired stamps and also all the new ones. Check him out. The prices are great and he carries 1800 Penny Black stamps in stock and what he doesn't have in stock he can get from Penny Black, even the retired ones, YAHOO! Have a great rest of the day.
Thanks for stopping by. Until later..................

EXOTIC BEAUTY

Hello. Today's card is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC7). This is a beautiful stamp by Renaissance Art Stamps. Papers are by S.E.I. (Black Orchid) Flowers by Prima. I stamped her on white glossy paper and colored her with Tombow and Copic Markers. The trip to the zoo yesterday was fun (except, Michael set his digital camera down, when we backtracked, we couldn't find it, so we left a lost and found ticket, hoping they will call and say they found it.) The roof is done and looking spiffy. Life is good. Hope you're having a great Saturday. Thanks for stopping by, leave a comment if you can. Until later......................

RED FISH

I was blog hopping the other day looking at cards for challenges I had done and I saw this image on a card by Jami Bova (http://sgtstamper.com/blog/2009/06/playing-with-some-lineart/)
I just fell in love with this beautiful lineart drawing, so I visited the website of the artist, Princess Elemmiriel (http://princesselemmiriel.deviantart.com/gallery/#Lineart), and printed this image out on white linen cardstock. What a delight to color and create a card. I have printed some of the others and will show you them when I get them done. Red Fish is the name given to this piece by the artist. I love the eye and lips and hair. Really busy day today and tomorrow.
Taking Megan and Michael to the Zoo tomorrow with my lifelong friend and her grandchildren.
Weather is supposed to be good, so looking forward to it. Tried to get this on blogger earlier this evening, but blogger wasn't loading, and this morning, my Internet was down. Hope your day went well. Thanks for stopping by. Until later..............

Lady Bug, Lady Bug fly away home

Made these cute little lady bug pocket cards today. I have included instructions, but unfortunately I loaded them from the bottom up by mistake. So scroll down to page one and
then scroll up one frame at a time. Sorry about that!
Finished card. Scroll down to the bottom now to start instructions.

Using a finger dauber, or a sponge, dab embossing ink to each spot on the body and
using black sparkly embossing powder, head emboss. Do the same to the two circles
on the antlers.

Glue small circles onto the embossed top of body as shown
Glue the antlers to the head as shown
Glue the head to the white cardstock as shown
Stamp white cardstock
Glue upper body part to lower body part. I have highlighted in white where to
glue so you can slide the head with message into pocket.

Glue half oval onto unembossed bottom portion of body as shown
Glue two small circles to each half of small black strip as shown

Run one of the red circles through the cuddlebug embossing folder of your choice (Optional)
Cut a triangle out of the bottom portion of the two red circles
Cut the oval in half (you only need one half for each card)
Cut the small black cardstock strip in half
Trim upper corners of white cardstock

What you need to make this card.
2 - red cardstock circles 4 3/8. I used the biggest circle on the coluzzle.
1 - 1 3/4 circle cut from black cardstock with punch or third cut on the circle coluzzle
1 - oval cut from black cardstock I used the 4th cut on the colluzzle oval. It's approximately
2 3/4x2 1/8
12 punched black cardstock 3/4 inch circles
1 piece of white cardstock 2 1/2 x 2 1/2
1 piece of black cardstock 3/8x 1 1/4 or use the stampin up word line punch

RELAX

Hi. Hope your enjoying the weather, it's beautiful and warm here today. Tomorrow, we are going to get a new roof! An expensive new roof! Thrilling! But we need it. Not looking forward to the noise. I asked the guy if I needed to unload the wall shelves of stamps because of the vibrations and he said it shouldn't bother the stuff on the walls. That will be thrilling. Today's card is for the Monday House Mouse Challenge and the Challenge was the layout or sketch. I absolutely love this stamp (I always say that) but doesn't he look so relaxed. The word stamp is also HM. Have a great rest of the day. Thanks for stopping by. Until later.........

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

Just wanted to wish all the guys out there a Happy Father's Day. My Dad was definitely the one we answered to when we got in trouble. If your old enough to remember this one "just wait until your Father gets home" now that wasn't good! Today's young men are so much more involved in raising the children and running the household, which is a good thing. So to all you old school Dads and all you new Dads, Happy Father's Day and thanks for ALL you do.

FRIENDS

Hi. Hope your Saturday is going well. I finished planting my impatiens in the pots on the patio today....finally. But they do look nice, all in bloom. Is dreary and rainy and cool, but we are supposed to get into the high 80's this coming week. Today's card is for the Saturday Penny Black challenge. The challenge was to use embossing on your card. The card itself is made from embossed paper from Nana's Kids. The pink embossed piece was run through a new QuickKutz
embossing folder. It has a blank space for words. The lace trim is from a new Martha Stewart punch that both cuts and embosses. Happy Birthday to my first Godchild, Lisa. I was only 16 years old when my sister asked me to be Godmother and I was thrilled. Now, all these years later, I am stilled thrilled to be your Godmother. Love ya Honey. Thanks for stopping by. Until later...............

Hi, welcome to Thursday. Posting a little late today. Think we finally fixed the pond so that it stopped leaking. Was losing water around the falls, so moved rocks to divert the water and it seems to be find.........for now. My nephew stopped over tonight with his little boy. He is just six months old and so sweet. He is all smiles and goes to anyone.............that probably won't last.
Today's card is a stamp by Cornish Heritage Farms, Saturday Evening Post series. The tulips is a stamp by Hero Arts. Edge border, Martha Stewart. Hope your Thursday went well. Thanks for stopping by. Until later...............

Marilyn

I'm posting this card because I want to enter it in the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.(MMSC6) (www.priscillastyles.blogspot.com) There is NO stamping on this card...Yikes...that's a first for me. Anyway, The Midnight Madness Challenge accepts any type of card using any kind of art. I am fascinated with pictures of Marilyn Monroe and I printed a few from some online galleries to use in another project. When I saw this sketch, I just knew I had to do this card. I love the layout and I wanted to use just two colors, the color of her lipstick and white. Oops, I did use a stamp on the inside, by Me and Carrie Lou that says Sashay into another year with Grace and Beauty...Happy Birthday. Isn't she lovely?....Until later.............

Life's a Beach

Hi, happy hump day! Today's card is fun beach scene. The feet with the unbrella between the toes is a stamp from Bugawumps and the sand castle stamp is by Rubbernecker. I used sand and water designer paper for the beach. The sentiment stamp is from the $ 1.00 bin. Enjoy your day, thanks for stopping. Until later.............

Some of the Pond Gang

Here is some of the gang. Whenever I feed them I stand in the same place to do it. Today I was removing some rocks from the other side of the pond edge and they were excited that I was out there and thought they were going to get fed, so they all went over to the edge where I normally feed them. See, we aren't the only creatures of habit. Aren't they pretty.
Since I have been talking about the pond so much (you know, the leak) I thought I would post a couple of pictures. One of the water lilies are blooming. See the fish in the right front of the second picture? The stuff that flies around from Cottonwood trees is so thick in the air and when it lands in the pond, it sinks to the bottom just like a wet piece of cotton. The fish think it's food and eat it, but then spit it back out! I think I found where the water was going over the liner in the waterfall today, keep your fingers crossed.

HELPING HAND

Hello.......Hope your having a great Tuesday. The pond saga continues. Today, I am going to move all the rocks from the waterfall to see if something is going on behind it. Ugh! It's not just that the rocks are heavy, but there isn't any place to put them, you have to bring them all out from behind and it's a tight squeeze, poor planning on our part. If I had to do it over (and I might) I would put it in the middle of the yard so you could walk all around it, not in a corner! Anyway...........Today's card is a house mouse stamp for the House Mouse Challenge. The Challenge was to use the colors of Neapolitan Ice Cream, Strawberry, vanilla and chocolate. I just got this stamp and hadn't had a chance to ink it up yet, so today was the day. The papers are from the Sweet paper pack.........LOVE IT! Supposed to be warm and sunny today..enjoy! Thanks for stopping by. Until later...........

Butterfly

Hi, happy Monday. Hope you're having a great start to the week. Today's card is a stamp by
Inkadikado. The paper is Martha Stewart, the sentiment is Verses. Corners are a punch. The background white paper was run through an embossing folder (wedding) by Sizzix. I ordered some stamps from Stamp and Go/Cardz online that were clearanced. I got a set of cooking, kitchen stamps by Posh that are so darn nice. Rubber, mounted on ez mount for 17.99 for 22 stamps! One is cuter than the other. Can't wait to ink them up and show you. Soon I hope. Thanks for stopping by, leave a comment if you can. Until later................

Bugsy

Hello...Happy Flag Day! Hope everyone is getting in some time to relax today and enjoy this nice weather we are having. I went to Michaels today with my daughter and got some new "stuff", and bought the most beautiful butterfly, can't wait to go stamp it right after I finish this post. Today's card is a stamp from a set of all bug stamps by Clear Art Stamps. Now, you know I am not a fan of clear stamps, I like rubber and wood, but I saw this guy online while browsing and sent for it. It is small, only about two inches and so are the rest of the stamps on the sheet, which is about the size of a half sheet of paper. With shipping, it was $ 30.00. Yikes, I think that is high for unmounted, non-rubber stamps. But, I have to admit he's cute. The flower centers are buttons from my button collection. Paper is by Magenta. Thanks for stopping by today. Until later.................

Celebrate Friends

Hi, hope your weekend is starting out great. Nice weather today, despite looking like rain early on. Still trying to track a leak in the pond........it's a mystery. I think I have moved just about every rock around the pond by now to no avail. Rick went early this morning to watch our grandkids play outdoor soccer. Both of them won their games. This is Megan's first time playing, so it is a learning experience for her. Michael has played indoor in the winter, but first time playing outdoor. Did laundry in between stamping (feels less guilty if you're doing two things) Today's card is for the Penny Black challenge. The challenge is to make a card celebrating something. This card celebrates friends. The background sunflowers were cut from a sheet of designer paper I got in a package at Big Lots. I love the sentiment, a great lesson for all of us. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day. Until later......
