Lady Bug, Lady Bug, fly away home.

Hi. Good Friday to you. Had to run around today and get shower presents. So many weddings and babies this year! What blessings, hunh! It's hot and humid again today and my upstairs stamp room is too warm!!!! Today's card is for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge. The Challenge was to distress. The stamp is Magnolia, the ladybugs are buttons with the shanks removed. Flowers by Prima. Words are unmounted from a convention and I am sorry but I don't know what stamp company. Have a great day. Thanks for stopping by. Until later............

Megan hand feeeding the pond fish.

As promised, here is Megan feeding the pond fish. She said the fish were actually sucking on her fingers and it felt "funny"

Sharing Ice Cream

Hello. Hope your Thursday is going well. Today's card is for the House Mouse Challenge this week. Is this image adorable or what? I've had it for a long time, but haven't stamped it in ages. I used papers from the DCWV Sweet Stack and a summer stack. Megan was over today and was feeding the fish in the pond from her hand. Trained goldfish! Will post a picture later.
Have a great Thursday. Thanks for stopping in. Until later...............

HEDGEHOGS IN THE GARDEN

Hi, Hope your Wednesday is good. Today's card is for the Penny Black Challenge. It's Accordion Card, a template by Penny Wesenauer. You cut the card base from cardstock
51/2 inches by 12. Cardstock is scored from the right edge to left at 41/4, 6 3/4, 91/4 and 10 5/8. The first and third folds are mountain folds and the second and fourth folds are valley folds.
All stamps are by Penny Black. Papers are from the Garden Party Stack by DCWV. Challenge was to use three ribbons, two flowers and one charm. Thanks Stephanie for the really cute images you stamped and sent me. And, are you loving that butterfly charm? Corners are a punch. Stickles are added to flower and bees wings. Have a great day. Thanks for stopping by. Until later.............

At the Game or Playing Around

Hi, Hope your enjoying your Tuesday. I made this set for the final leg of the 5 week challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms for a spot as a guest designer for September. You had to stamp a whole sheet of paper either 81/2 by 11 or 12x12 and use it on a project. I didn't want to just make cards so I made these little popcorn boxes with goodies inside and little attachments for water bottles with powdered drink mix in them. The set I used is called Athletic Hands, by Shady Tree Studio. I stamped the images and the words in the set with black and gray ink. I stippled color on the images with a brush. Kids would love these, in fact, they will probably go to my Grandchildren now. Thanks for stopping by. Until later........

3rd BSS-Monday Inspiration/Challenge

Hi, It's Monday...today is the third week for the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff (my local stamp store) Inspiration/challenge. For this week, summer is our inspiration. The challenge is to use bright summer colors and summer themed stamps. The little boy is a Rubber Cottage stamp. The words are actually one stamp, I just stamped in two places on the front of the card, it's made by Printwords. The sun, fish and frog are all small punches. The striped paper is by Basic Gray. I used the Label One nestabilities by Spellbinders to stamp the image on. Chalked the water, sky and grass. I ran a blue ink pad over the fish so they looked like they were under the water. Have a great day. Thanks for stopping by. Until later.............

The Bike

Hello. Good Sunday to you. We are enjoying a busy weekend with two weddings and a craft show. Second wedding is today. Yesterdays wedding was great fun. It was an outdoor wedding and we got through the wedding and most of the reception before the rain dampened spirits, but everything was beautiful and we had a good time. Today's card (s) is a stamp by Printworks.
I made the card and then I made a slit in the basket of the bike to insert whatever you like. How fun is that? I am showing four different things inserted into the basket, the possibilities are endless. I have a series of small stamps with different bowls of fruit and I wanted to color the fruit and insert it, like strawberries, apples, etc, but ran out of time, but you get the idea. Oh, and thanks Stephanie for the cute little dragonfly charm, I LOVE it. He is kinda hard to see in the photo unless you click and enlarge, but in person he looks adorable. Have a great day and relax if you can. Thanks for stopping by. Until later..........

Magnolia Elf

STAND ALONE CARD.

OPENED UP SO DESIGN SHOWS.

Hello. I did not find the perfect dress, in fact, I didn't find an acceptable dress. I bought a summer dressy pant outfit, but it is long sleeved, so I don't know if I'll wear it to event or not, but I'll have it for another time (It was on sale and I liked it!) So now I am going to have to go through the closet and find something I have worn once before and settle for that. I did make a pit stop at Michaels, and they are redoing the stamp dept at our local one. A lot of the paper stacks (Garden Party by DCWV one of my favs) are clearanced for $ 7.99. Great buy. And they are putting in a lot of new paper stacks, so the trip wasn't for naught. Today's card is for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge, which was Christmas. I just got this little Elf at my LSS on Saturday (for 35% off, YEAH). The card is called a Stand Up Card (by Penny Wessenauer)
It was the featured Try a new Technique on Split Coast Stampers a week or so ago.
Penny has a lot of templates and beautiful cards. I tried to link the post here, but try as I might it did not work. There is a link on SCS. Hope you're having a great Friday. Until later....

Late Night Walk

Hi. It's Thursday! Going to run out in the rain this morning and look for something to wear to a Wedding on Sunday(actually a wedding reception, the wedding took place out of town last weekend). Hoping to find something summery on sale, if not will wear something I have, although I am in the mood for something new. The thing about dresses you buy to wear to a wedding, did you ever notice you end up wearing them that once! Today's card is a card I submitted to the Cornish Heritage Farms 5 week challenge for a guest design team member for September. The challenge this week was to make a scene card. I don't have many stamps from them that are suitable for making a scene, so I did what I could with what I had. From the looks of the weekly winners cards (each gal richly deserving of the win) I don't think my style is what they are looking for, and I am not quite sure what it is they are looking for. So, I will finish out the challenge next week with the last challenge and be glad for the challenge to create things that I might not have done with the stamps I had. Every experience adds something along the way.
Hope you're having a great Friday and looking forward to the weekend. Thanks for stopping by. Until later............

Cake Anyone?

Hello. Happy Hump Day. We live in a city that sits on the Erie Canal. (remember singing the 15 miles on the Erie Canal song in school?) Every year, they have a Canal Fest and last night was the big parade. It's held rain or shine, but we opted out because it rained all evening. The kids look forward to it , so it's a shame it had to rain. But I am sure they went anyway. My daughter is leaving for Las Vegas with her girlfriends on Thursday morning. They are all turning 40 this year and planned this trip for the past year. Heidi's best friend Laura is staying after the girl's trip and getting married. We are going to watch the wedding live online! Today's card is for the Monday House Mouse Challenge, and this week they wanted you to make a card using all white except you could color the image. This was fun, and I actually love white, so I really enjoyed it.
I used the cuddlebug embossing folder (music) for the background. The border punch is Martha Stewart. Have a great Wednesday. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Until later..........

Swans in Snow

Hi, Happy Saturday. Our local stamp store (we only have one) is having a semi-annual sale today. If you arrive between 6:30 -7:00 am, you get 35% off your total order. Then as the day goes on the % goes down until at 9:00 am and after you get 20% off. I am leaving early as I want to pick up some Copic markers and some other things I have on a list. YAHOO. Today's card is for the MMSC10 (link is on the right side of my blog). This is a beautiful stamp from
Onyx Xpressions, Houston, Texas called Swans in Snow. Papers are Me and My Big Ideas.
Corners are a punch. I love, love, love this stamp. I got six new stamps from them today, and I love them all. You will be seeing them in the days ahead. Hope your Saturday is relaxing. Thanks for stopping by. Until later...............

Relax for awhile

Hi, Happy Friday! Hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend. Weather here is muggy, but rain coming in today. Back down to the 70's on Sunday. Today's card is for the House Mouse Challenge. The Challenge was "NO COLORING" Yikes, just about had to tie my hands behind my back!! I stamped the little bunny in the tub with Versafine brown ink. The medallion is cut from a sheet of paper in the Woodland paper stack by Martha Stewart. I distressed everything, keeping with a vintage look. Have a great Friday. Thanks for stopping by. Until later.........

King of the Grill

Hi, It's Thursday already. This week has just flown by. Today's card is for my son-in-laws birthday today. Brian is recovering from Carpel Tunnel surgery and doing very well. They built a new deck this year so are having a cookout today for the families to show it off. This is an old stamp from Stampendous. When I got it out to use, it appears I never even inked it up before.
Yikes, I hate when that happens. I cut a strip of paper two inches wide and centered it from corner to corner, then just trimmed the ends. Hope the rest of your Thursday is good. Thanks for stopping in. Until later.......

I Love Cupcakes

Hi and happy Wednesday. Hope your day is going well. Today's card is for the Penny Black Challenge. This little image is one of the stamped images that Pauline sent me that I won on her blog. The package was packed with beautiful embellishments and lots of stamped images, and I didn't have any of them. This little mouse sleeping in the box after eating a cupcake is so adorable, and I want to thank Pauline again for sending all the goodies my way. Papers are from the Sweet paper stack and basic Gray. Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday. Until later.........

Just Bee-Cause

Hello. Hope your having a great Tuesday. I ordered new curtains for my bay window in the dining room and because they got wrinkled being folded up in the packaging, I spent the morning ironing them and all the ruffles around them. Whew! I hardly ever iron, so I could not believe how long it took me. But, after struggling with the fixtures and washing the window and getting them up, they do look nice. I made today's card for the ongoing summer challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms, to choose a guest design team member for the month of September. The challenge this week is to use a resist technique. I stamped the large daisy with Versamark watermark ink on white cardstock, then brayered momento Summer Sky ink over the whole thing. The clear embossing powder seals the paper so that only the open areas take the ink. I love how it turned out and probably would never have used this technique with this large stamp. I have used the stamp before, but never this way. The background is a backgrounder called Aged Sheet Music, and the Daisy is called Shady Daisy backgrounder. The darling little list stamp is also CHF and was the stamp of the month for June 2009. I love this little stamp too, so versatile. The little bees are buttons with he shank cut off and glued to the daisy. What do you think? Leave me a comment. Until later...............

Monday BSS-Trifold Card Inspiration

Opened.

Closed.

Hi. Happy Monday. This card is for my local stamp store, Buffalo Stamps and Stuff. The inspiration for today is a Tri-Fold Card. Cut your cardstock 11" x 4 and 1/4". Score vertical
lines at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2 inches from the left end. A 2 1/2 inch x 4 inch piece of designer paper
will fit the front panel. A 5 1/4"x 4" piece will fit the inside panel. Decorate your card any way
you like. I used Basic Gray, Urban Prairie papers. On the front panel, I ran the designer paper
through a quickutz embossing folder (diamonds). The Stamps are House Mouse. The ovals are
Marvey scalloped oval punches, medium and small. The swirl is sizzix and the pearls are Kaiser.
The inside sentiment is Paperbag Studios. You can stamp an image and color it and adhere it to a slightly larger piece of cardstock leaving a narrow border. Remember to only adhere the left half of your image or words if you want it to hang over the card like the words Prima Ballerina.
It's a pretty simple cut and fold, for a different look to your cardmaking. Enjoy your Monday.
Until later..........

Tilda with Bird

Hi. Hope your Sunday is relaxing. Maybe even a little stamping involved. I sat on the patio this morning with a cup of coffee with the dog and the breeze felt so good. It has cooled down to the 70's here and that is just perfect to me. Today's card is for the Magnolia Down Under challenge.
For some reason this card just did not want to go together. Did you ever have one of those nights? I must have had every piece of paper I own out and didn't like anything. I just got this image yesterday at my local stamp store and was excited to use it. Card is just ok, but I spent so much time on it, I thought I should at least blog it. You know the saying, sometimes it's Art, sometimes it Aren't!! Have a great rest of the day. Thanks for stopping by. Until later..........

Flower Garden

Hi, hope you're enjoying your Friday. We went to the movies today to see the Proposal. It was cute and I love Sandra Bullock. Today's card is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC9). The Stamp is from a set from Gina K Designs, the stamp being designed by Melanie Muenchinger. The set includes these beautiful flowers and 10 sentiments to go in the square in the middle. The set is called Arranged with love. I also bought some pure luxury card stock from Gina K Designs and I have to tell you it is pure luxury!!! I used Copic markers and they do not bleed through this heavy weight paper. And the markers just glide on the paper. And when I embossed this image, the paper did not warp. In case you didn't notice, I am sold! Thanks so much for stopping in. Until later.............

Summer Best Wishes

Hi, Hope your Thursday was good. I planted some fern that my sister gave me today. It's beautiful swaying fern, and I hope it takes, want to eventually plant it around the pond, but have to transplant some things next spring that have become overgrown. It never ends! Today's card is by Inkadinkado and is made up of 15 one inch images. I cut the images and put them on 1 and 1/8 inch squares. The border is a new punch by EK Success. Best Wishes is from a Hero Arts set. Thanks for stopping by. Until later.............
