Just Bee-Cause

Hello. Hope your having a great Tuesday. I ordered new curtains for my bay window in the dining room and because they got wrinkled being folded up in the packaging, I spent the morning ironing them and all the ruffles around them. Whew! I hardly ever iron, so I could not believe how long it took me. But, after struggling with the fixtures and washing the window and getting them up, they do look nice. I made today's card for the ongoing summer challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms, to choose a guest design team member for the month of September. The challenge this week is to use a resist technique. I stamped the large daisy with Versamark watermark ink on white cardstock, then brayered momento Summer Sky ink over the whole thing. The clear embossing powder seals the paper so that only the open areas take the ink. I love how it turned out and probably would never have used this technique with this large stamp. I have used the stamp before, but never this way. The background is a backgrounder called Aged Sheet Music, and the Daisy is called Shady Daisy backgrounder. The darling little list stamp is also CHF and was the stamp of the month for June 2009. I love this little stamp too, so versatile. The little bees are buttons with he shank cut off and glued to the daisy. What do you think? Leave me a comment. Until later...............

This is gorgeous, Sue. Thanks for detailing how you made it -- I think it was very effective with the large stamp -- and the colors are perfect.
