BSS MONDAY IDEA-SIMPLE CHRISTMAS CARDS

Welcome to Monday Morning and another Buffalo Stamps and Stuff  Monday Idea.

Are you starting to stress out about not having enough Christmas cards made for the holidays?
Well, I received a catalog with cards and these two simple cards were inspired from that catalog.
With postage at an all time high, with the limit on size and if the card has a bump on it, that's all extra now, I thought I would make a simple design and share it with you.

These two cards are similar, but simple to make and mail!

The center snowflake (Impression Obsession) was stamped on red mirror paper and embossed with white embossing powder.  Be sure to use a non-static embossing buddy on the paper before inking it so that the powder doesn't stick everywhere.  After embossing and cooling down, whipe the extra embossing buddy powder off with a clean tissue.  The smaller snowflakes (all Martha Stewart) are stamped with Ranger, Barn Door Distress Ink.  The sentiment is Rubber Stampede. Finishing touch is Kaiser Rhinestones.

On this card, I stamped the snowflake (Impression Obsession) with gold embossing powder and used a scallop punch to cut it out.  The same set from Martha Stewart was used for the small snowflakes.  Ranger Distress ink, Stormy Sky was used. Sentiment is by Rubber Stampede. Final touch is Kaiser Pearls.

Hope you get a handle on your Holiday cards and this idea inspires you.  Have a great Monday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later..............

IF THE HAT FITS................

Hi, Happy Sunday.  Had a great Thanksgiving with our daughter and her family.  Everything was delicious and of course everyone ate too much!  Friday morning she and I got up early and went shopping.  We didn't go until 6 AM so missed that early morning craziness and long lines to check out.  The mall was packed though.  Yesterday, the entire clan including my husband went to see the new Harry Potter movie and I wrapped and cleaned while they were gone.  We ordered Pizza and Wings for afterwards and celebrated my husbands birthday.  Now that Thanksgiving and birthdays are over with, I guess we will concentrate on getting the Christmas tree and decorations up.

Today's card is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.(#129).  The challenge this week is Monochromatic Christmas.  I chose the color red.  The papers are by Martha Stewart.  The bird border is Martha.  The gingham snowflakes are a punch. Image is colored with Copics and glittered the fur on the hat.

Have a great rest of the day.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later................

SLEIGH RIDE

Hi, happy day before Thanksgiving!  Got my turkey breast cooking now and the whole house smells wonderful.  We are going to our daughters tomorrow for dinner, but making the breast so we can have cold sandwiches over the weekend!  Making pies in the morning and sweet potato souffle and a salad to take.  It got cold here overnight and they are saying snow for Friday, so beginning to feel more and more like winter.

Today's card is made from a beautiful stamp by Inkadinkado.  I stamped it on white glossy card stock, then using the sponge applicator by Tim Holtz, added color with dye ink, in blues, pink and yellow.  The embossing is a 5x7 emboss and cut plus folder from Cuddlebug.  The flower is a stamp by Heartfelt Creations. The snowflakes and the greens are punches.

Hope your Wednesday was great.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later...............

HOUSE MOUSE AND FRIENDS MONDAY CHALLENGE - ENVELOPE ART

It's Monday, and that means it's time for another challenge at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge.  this week our wonderful teammate, Sue Kment has chosen the theme for the challenge, which is Envelope Art.  Yep, decorate an envelope with a House Mouse, Gruffie, or Happy Hopper.

These little guys are enjoying a ride on a falling autumn leaf.  I used sticky notes to create a border around an envelope.  Then, sponged distress inks in fall colors around the edge randomly.  Stamped in black with a swirl stamp.  Colored this adorable stamp with Copics.  Used a die cut for the address space.

I made a border on the flap of the envie and attached an autumn leaf.

Matching card.

The set.

Hope you can join us at the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge with a decorated envelope.
For some great inspiration, take a look at what our talented team has come up with.  This challenge runs from today, November 22 through December 5th. We would love to visit your blog and see what you came up with.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later..............

BSS- MONDAY IDEA- BACKGROUND STAMPING

THE INSIDE

Good Monday Morning, time for another Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.  I saw this technique on SCS and had to try it.  You use an acrylic block to make a cool background.  I stamped Bundled Sage Distress ink by Ranger on an acrylic block, then I stamped Vintage Photo just around the edges. Next, you spritz the block with water, a fine spray like a mini mister. Then you just use the block like a stamp on a panel or card. I love the effect it gives.  You could use multi ink colors for a great effect too.

I stamped the snowflakes (Martha Stewart) with the same two colors of distress ink, and also a pine bough in a darker green ink.  I cut and embossed the Sizzix die cut snowflake from mint green card stock and sponged with Vintage Photo distress ink.  The herringbone paper is from the Home for the Holidays, Melissa Frances 6x6 stack.  I also covered three small circles of chip board with the same paper and stamped the word Joy with Fired Brick distress ink. The brad in the middle of the snowflake is by Making Memories.  The deer is a die cut from Tim Holtz by Sizzix.

For the inside of the card, I used the cutout from the deer as a stencil and sponged with Vintage Photo distress ink.  Added a couple of snowflakes and the sentiment by Penny Black.

I love this technique, can't wait to play with it some more.  Hope you get a chance to try it.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later................

TILDA WITH HEART

Happy Sunday.  Caught a cold and was feeling pretty yucky.  Took a couple of Excedrin and feeling better at the moment.  Hope this is short lived.

Today's card is for the challenge at Just Magnolia (week 83) and the theme is White plus one other color.
I started with a white card.and embossed with snow flakes.  Added a square doily, then layered with a panel of snowflakes.  I distressed the edges and sponged distress ink, Spun Sugar, on the edges.  Added the oval and Tilda with Heart, colored with Copics.  The machine embroidered snowflake was made by my sister, Edith, and I added Stickles, Diamond for sparkle.   The diamond shape is a spellbinders die cut.  Added organza bow and charm tied with silver cord.

Going to try to work on a swap that I got talked into today, at least cut out all the pieces so I can begin to color and assemble them, need 25 finished tags!!!

Have a great Sunday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later................

EAT TUNA - A GOBBLER ON A MISSION

Hey, happy start to the weekend, unless of course, you started after work last night!
I received this great stamp from my buddy Cathy in Arizona for Thanksgiving, along with a box full of other goodies, thanks Cath!!  I colored him up with Copics.  Layered him on a nestie label.  Papers are by Debbie Mumm.  The fence is an old Sizzix die and I pulled the tiny leaves from a garland I bought.  Sentiment is Stampin Up.

Have to do some grocery shopping for the big day next Thursday. We are going to go to my daughters for dinner, and it is also her birthday! And the next day is her Dad's birthday!  They always falls Thanksgiving week.  A cute aside, when my daughter was born, she was three weeks late.  After she was born, my husband called my Mom and she rushed over to the hospital.  When she came running into the room, she looked at me and said..........couldn't you have waited one more day!!!!!

Have a great Saturday!  Snow is in our forecast for next week!!!  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later........

BSS - MONDAY IDEA - WARM HAT - GIFT CARD HOLDER

Good Monday Morning!  Welcome to the Monday Morning Buffalo Stamps and Stuff  Idea.  I saw these so cute gift card enclosures on SCS recently and knew I wanted to make some up for gift giving this Holiday Season.  So many gifts involve a gift card these days and this is a perfect way to give one.  I made them up using papers from a Kaiser Christmas pack.  I used a 1 1/4 inch scallop circle for the pom pom.  Lots of possibilities here with different papers and embellishments and punches.  Hope you have time to try this, it's quick to put together and makes a useful holiday item.

You can see the tutorial for this project at

NEW COLT

Hello, hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday. Beautiful fall day today here.  Cleaned all morning so I could escape to the stamp room.  Trying to put away and organize again.........a constant battle!!

Today's card is by a stamp by Impression Obsession.  I've actually had the stamp for awhile and never inked it up.  Such a cute young colt.  The background paper of the cowboy and grown up horses was a gift from Mary, thanks Mary!!  It's Cosmo Cricket, WANTED 6X6 STACK!  Great mix of perfect guy papers, love them all.  The lasso is a piece of leather cord.  The horse shoe is a cuddlebug die cut.  The sentiment was an unmounted stamp I bought at Convention and I don't know whose stamp is was.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great rest of the weekend. Until later..................

GOING HOME

I can't believe the frost that was on my windshield this morning when I went out at 7 AM to go over to get Michael off to school (after picking up the donuts, of course),  WOW, I had to scrape!  Then fog rolled in, and by the time I came home at 8:30, it was pretty thick!  Turned out to be a pretty nice day, but a reminder that it is November and Winter is on it's way.

Today's card is a little scene I created using a stamp from Artistic Outpost, and the cat under the street light is by Memory Box.  I stamped on white glossy paper.  I used the sponge applicator by Tim Holtz to sponge dye inks on to the scene.  I masked the ray of light from the lamp and when I was all done, went over it with a light blue ink to make it look like the light was on.  The sentiment is a dollar stamp from Michael's.  Paper is by My Minds Eye, Laundry Line stack.  Gold dew drops.  Heart is a punch.

Hope your Friday was a good day.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later................

Hello and happy Thursday!  Happy Veteran's Day to all our Military families now serving and to all those who have served.  My veteran is going to lunch with a friend, also a veteran at Applebees.  They are offering a free lunch to Veterans today!!

Today's card is for the Challenge at Prairie Fairy Designs Challenge #39 - Make your own flowers.
I love this image.  I used sparkly flower soft on the polar bear. After coloring with Copics, I cut the image out and adhered it to the cut out oval along several edges.  Ran the entire card and the pink inside panel through a sizzix embossing folder, snowflakes.  Snowflakes are punches.  Made the flower with a punch too.  Green glitter paper and gingham ribbon finished it off.  The ticket sentiment was a freebie from Lisa Goodall.  On the inside I used a lace doily and a sentiment from the dollar bin at Michael's.

SNOWY FRIENDS

Wow, we are enjoying some great warm temps this week, a final chance to cover patio furniture and get the pond shut down for the winter I think.  Going up to 60 by Friday.  We have already had a killing frost, so my Mums are done.

Today's card is for the challenge at Penny Black and Friends Saturday Challenge.(#126)!. The theme is Let It Snow.  I stamped the trees on a white panel.  Using a sponge, I sponged light blue ink to look like snow. I used a snow stamp and the same blue ink to make it look like it is snowing.  I mounted the PB stamped image with pop dots to the center of the scene, and mounted the white panel on a black panel.  Adhered the finished panels to a white card to the left.  On the right, I punched three snowflakes with a Martha Stewart punch, I used a blue panel behind the snowflakes to match the little scene.  I sprayed the entire card with
Sheer Shimmer Sparkle. The sentiment is an old Stampa Rosa sentiment.

I'm also entering this card in the Crafty Calendar Challenge #14, Winter, with Snowflakes.

Have a great Tuesday. Thanks for stopping by.  Until later.................
