It was cool and raining 45 years ago today. How do I know that?
Because it was my 20th birthday AND our wedding day!
Yea, do the math, today is my 65th birthday and my 45th Wedding Anniversary.
Time flies when you're having fun, and for all you younger gals, just want you to know the years fly by so quickly when you're busy buidling a life, raising a family and working to pay for it all!
Funny thing is, you feel the same inside, despite the fact that you look a lot different on the outside!
Despite the smiling faces, you are looking at a picture of two very scared kids. Fifteen days after this picture was taken, Rick returned to Fort Drum, New York, and the next day he boarded a plane for Viet Nam. Thankfully one year and four days later, he returned safe and sound and we then began our lives together. And all these years later, we are still best friends.
What's the secret to a long and happy married life?......I don't know, I just know that
if you meet someone in the ninth grade and get married when you're 20 (he was 19),
laugh a lot, cry when necessary, and bite your tongue now and then, it just might work out!
Have a great weekend. Until later................
