TRIM THE TREE

I'm trying to make Christmas cards, now that it's crunch time!  I must confess, I bought a couple of boxes of cards while I was out shopping on Black Friday.  Seems every year I think I am going to make all my cards, but it just does not happen.  The cards that I blog are too embellished to mail, I use them for people I am going to give a gift to so I can hand deliver them.  I must work on making cards that can be mailed with a regular postage stamp......can make that my New Year's resolution, along with losing weight and getting more organized, my standard ones.........

Here's where you put your sunglasses on, because this card has bling!

Today's card is for the challenge at Penny Black and Friends Saturday Challenge #179, and the challenge is to use Christmas+Red+Embossing.

My card recipe

Stamp - Penny Black - Simply Ornamental
The red and white striped paper is a die.  I used it at my local
stamp store.  This is a5x7 inch card, so it is a big die.  I will find out who makes them
and update this post.
The Christmas tree is holographic foil which I embossed.
and the gold star garland, both from the dollar store.
The stars where cut using a sizzix die, then I ran them through an embossing folder.
Stamped the sentiment and embossed with white embossing powder on red mirror paper.
Colored the image with Copic Markers

I'm also entering this card in the following challenges:
Pile it on Challenge - Sugar and Spice
Totally Paper Crafts #94 - Christmas
Simply Create Too #1 - Christmas

Have a great Hump Day.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later.....

WOW Sue this is outstanding. Love this card and all it's bling. I just bought some of that holographic paper but haven't used it yet. Now that I see what you did, I'll have to get going on that. It's funny you said buying cards, I was laying in bed early this morning saying to myself that I've got to buy some cards because I won't make it doing them all myself. Now I don't feel so guilty about that thought. Thank You. By The Way, your blog looks gorgeous. Kisses to Keeley for me, please. HM card coming soon, maybe today.

Beautiful card! I'm starting to think that I might not get cards out this year. I haven't figured out what I'm going to do for mine yet and don't even have a clue of an idea. Guess I better get moving and figure out something quick and easy.

Beautiful card, Sue. Love red. green, sparkle and bling at Christmastime. I gave up making cards for everyone years ago; only those who truly appreciate the home made cards receive one. Mine are finished, having started the first of November this year.

My Christmas card list just shrunk a bunch. I had a bunch made (heavily embellished and in need of double postage) and someone asked to buy them and I ageed. Now I have to start all over again. Good problem to have, but bad time of year. Ha Ha!

This card is so festive. I love it as I do all of your creations.

Thanks for joining us at Totally Papercrafts this week. Hugs, Linda

This does have a lot of bling, I love it! I love that girl sitting on the ornament, very creative! I might have to buy some to mail too this year if I don't get on the ball! Can you e-mail me? I have something to tell you!
