Birthday Bear

Happy Tuesday Everyone!   We are heading out for a movie this afternoon, but I wanted to get this posted.  Finished this card last night, but was just to tired to take pictures of it and post then.
Weather here is dreary today, but supposed to get better as the day goes on.

We had an unwanted visitor to our pond over the weekend.  A blue Heron has been doing fly bys and while we were away, he landed and gobbled up some fish.  So sad, they stay out all winter and survive only to  be taken by this big bird.  We have an alarm system, but it runs on water and sprays like a high powered sprinker to scare it off, but because we were still having hard frosts, we were unable to hook it up.  Needless to say, it is now in place and we also netted the pond this morning in an attempt to save the remaining fish.  Blue Heron can remember from year to year where they found fish!  But since we got the Sprinkler alarm system we haven't had any trouble, so fingers crossed!!  Looks like maybe nine survived the onslaught out of 12.  The biggest one is gone and a beautiful white and red spotted one also got taken..............yuck!!

Today's card is for the challenge at Just Magnolia - #154 and the theme is Buttons and Bows.

Beautiful card!
OMG! You were in BSS yesterday weren't you? I was in there and overheard someone talking about a heron and their fish, never turned to see who it was. Must have been you! One day I'm going to actually meet you when we are both in the store. LOL

beautiful card. the colours are so nice.
it is so pity that you lose some of the fish out of your pond.
I know that blue heron can be a quick rover and they eat also young birds...and they are always comming back. that is so frustrated.
I hope it is the last time for now that you have a visit from the blue heron.
good luck!
greetings

Sorry about the fish but it sounds like you have taken pretty good precautions so it won't happen again.
