Hello. Only a few more days until Michael's birthday, have to get into gear and finish his 10th birthday book!

Today's card is for the Penny Black Challenge.  The challenge this week is to make a card that is Men/Boy themed.  I chose this stamp of the little boy with his dog.  The words are from a clear stamp set.  Papers are Martha Stewart and Prism.  I ran the yellow through the wood grain embossing folder by Cuddlebug.  The white mats are Stampin Up.

Enjoy your Sunday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later...............

Pumpkin Cupcake

Hello, Happy Hump Day.  I'm off a day because of Monday being the Holiday. Worked in the bathroom this morning putting floor tiles down.  Just putting new tiles around the toilet area, what a pain, all that cutting in.
Going to finish tomorrow, hopefully.  Tomorrow is my first Thursday going over to get Michael on the bus.  Just me and him and the donuts now, as Megan went off to Middle School and has to leave at 6:50 am.  I asked him last week, isn't it going to be weird, just the two of us and he said, no I think we should celebrate! Spoken like a true brother!

Today's card is or the Paper Cupcake Stamp challenge.  The challenge this week is to use a digital image from PCC and use a recipe, 1 Ribbon- mines from Michael's , 2 Embellishments - Martha Stewart dots on
corners, and sentiment (Karen Lockhart), 3 Designer papers, Cosmo Cricket, Matilda, and 4 flowers, stamped and cut from a PSX Stamp.

I love these cupcake images!  I colored with Copics.  The embossed card stock is plaid from Sizzix.  I distressed every other layer for texture.  The centers of the sunflowers, I used Papier Glass Finish (AC Moore) and sprinkled a little gold glitter on top.

Hope your Wednesday was wonderful!  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later...........

TILDA HAD A LITTLE LAMB

Hi, hope your Tuesday went well.  Our kids (all of them, two teachers and two grandchildren) went off to their first day of school.  I called and talked to everyone, and apparently only the middle school for the first time Granddaughter had some locker opening problems and was late getting to a class because she got lost, was unhappy about the days events.  Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for her.  My grandson was excited to go back and likes his teacher, so he was happy.

Today's card is a Magnolia, Tilda. I made the card for the challenge at Magnolia Down Under(#62).  The challenge this week is Fur, Feathers or Fins.  I chose this adorable Tilda with Lamb, and I used flocking to make the little lamb more furry looking.  I colored with Copics.  The oval die cuts are Nellie Smellen.  Paper is Martha Stewart as well as the border punch.  Roses are from Michael's Reflection Collection.  The fence is also Magnolia (thanks Steph!).  The oval behind the fence, I brayered the grass and sky on glossy card stock.  Ribbon is also from Michael's.  Star Dust Stickles used on flowers and around the red panel.

I'm also entering this at Stamp Something, their challenge this week is stamp something "cute".
Also, A Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge,(#120) Animal Crackers, use an animal.

Thanks for stopping by.  Until later....................

BSS MONDAY CHALLENGE - CRACKED GLASS TECHNIQUE

Close up of cracked glass technique

Happy Labor Day! And, good Monday morning.  Today's card for the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Challenge is the cracked glass technique.  There is an excellent tutorial, handwritten instructions and a video at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/cracked_glass/ .  But basically, you stamp and color your image.  You then use Extra Thick embossing powder to emboss the entire image.  You repeat the process at least three times.  When the image is completely cooled, carefully bend the image, causing the image to crack.  Repeat this until you have the desired amount of cracks.  Run a sponge with distress ink over the entire image, the ink will go into the cracks.  Then using a paper towel, wipe the image clean, the ink will come off the embossed image.

I used PopCorn the Bear from one of the floral sets.  I colored with Copic Markers.  Papers and border punch are by Martha Stewart.  Pearls by Kaiser and flower is Prima.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Hope you will have time to try this technique. Hope the picture of the close up shows the result, hard to photograph.

Have a great Holiday!  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later..............

UP UP AND AWAY

Hi.  Hope you had a great Saturday.  We enjoyed a breezy cool day today!  All the windows and doors open.  House has finally cooled down and we can go to bed with the window open and no AC for the first time in I can't remember when!!  So nice.

Today's mail brought me a package from my stamping friend Cathy in Arizona.  She sent me an article about the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, with pictures of both night and day with the sky full of beautiful Hot Air Balloons.  What a site it would be to be there and see in person.  Cathy also tucked this big beautiful stamp into the package, all wrapped in pretty purple shiny paper, just because.  What a great friend.  I had to ink up the stamp and make a card.  I stamped and embossed the balloons, added some trees, colored with Copics.  Sponged the sky. Such a great stamp, those balloons look like they are just floating.  Thank you so much friend, I love it and we enjoyed the article and pictures so much.

Have a great Sunday.  Long weekend for most, make the most of it!  Until later...............

FIRST "FUZZY WUZZY" CHALLENGE

WELCOME TO THE FIRST CHALLENGE FOR THE FUZZY WUZZY CHALLENGE

The first challenge is a color challenge, using the colors PINK, GREEN, CHOCOLATE, AND KRAFT!

The challenges will be MONTHLY.  The challenge will begin on the first FRIDAY of the month and END on the LAST DAY of the Month.  So, this challenge starts today and ends Thursday, September 30th.

There will be four prizes for this challenge.  Kellie has generously offered a sweet C.C. Design Stamp, and
Marina, of  The Stamping Bazaar, offered a rubber stamp and two digis to be given separately to three winners.

For my design team entry I chose a stamp by All Night Media, artwork by Mary Engelbreit. The 6x6 card base it made from kraft paper.  I used my Lyra, Rembrandt color pencils to color the sweet Scottie dog.  Papers are by DCWV, Garden Party Stack.  The border punch is Martha Stewart.  Tiny roses are Prima.  Bow is ribbon from Joann's. Silver beads are form my stash.  When I got all done, I spritzed the entire card with Sheer Shimmer Spritz by Tsukineko, which I love, but unless you click to enlarge, you can't see it!

We want to emphasize that you can use ANY CRITTER, it does not have to be a "fuzzy" critter.  The animal of choice must be the main focal point of the card.

We hope you will join us for our first ever challenge.

Thanks for stopping by, until later......

Phindy's Place Card of the Week Winner, Guest Spot

Hi, I was lucky enough to win the Card of the Week a few weeks ago over at the Phindy's Place Challenge Blog and won the honor of having a guest spot this week.  The Challenge is Paper Piecing.

I chose this little Hedge Hog image all dressed up.  All papers are from my stash and I bought this patterned paper by the sheet a long time ago and don't know who made it.  The flower is Prima.  The sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly.  Rhinestones, Kaiser.

I want to thank Tammy for all her help with this and the rest of the design team for making this guest spot possible.  And thanks, Phindy for your nice comments on my blog, not many artists take the time to do that and it is such a nice touch.

So get on over to Phindy's Place Challenge Blog and enter a card using paper piecing.

Thanks for stopping by.  Until later................
