MIDWEEK REMINDER FOR HMFMC # 161-

Hi House Mouse Lovers - Just a quick reminder that we are half way through our current Challenge, hosted by American, who wants you to use a stamp that you haven't used before.

We are Sponsored by Simon Says Stamp this week with a random assortment of their new inks, and as
a bonus, America is offering two lucky winners a chance to pick two house mouse stamps.

Here is my finished card.  I have had this stamp for awhile, and I think I
was a little intimidated to color it up, but once I got started, I loved it.

I used glossy accents on the big lobster.

Is the little House Mouse so cute with his buddy or what!

Lots of stickles (star dust) in the aquarium and on the coral
in the background.

I finished my card off with this little row of fish from a tiny punch.

This big beautiful stamp is by Stampabilities and is called Nutty Buddy.
I like to call it the NUTCRACKER! (HMTR1034)

Hope you can join the fun and play along with us.  You have until Saturday, January 25 at midnight EST.
Please take a look at the midweek inspiration on the HMFMC blog.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day.  Until later..........

BSS MONDAY IDEA - HALF HEART CUT OUT

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

Today's idea is a half heart cutout on the front of the card.

See how the heart is half cut out on the designer paper and then the
heart with the little bird on it fits inside of it on the card.

Had to show you a close up of this little sweet bird.  Love now the ribbon around
his neck is forming a heart!

This is the inside of the card.  The sentiment came with the little bird, so cute.

Card Recipe

Stamps - Art Impressions - Tweetheart Set (4363)
Dies - Spellbinder's Nestabilities Classic Hearts (S4136) and
Classic Scallopped Heart (S4-137)
Paper - Card Base is white card stock 5x7.
Designer paper is Carta Bella - Devoted 6x6 paper pad
The blue dotted designer paper is cut at 5x6 and adhered to the
white card front with a half inch of the white card showing at the top and bottom.
The hearts designer paper is cut at 3x6 inches.
Using the largest scalloped die, I placed half of the heart die
on the very edge of the right side of the heart paper and cut.
Adhere the heart paper with the cutout,  to the front of the card,
along the left side. Cut the next largest scalloped die with card stock.
You can use any heart shape if you don't have the dies.
Stamp your image on white card and color.
I cut the little bird out leaving the tail and his one foot outside the
second largest plain heart, which will fit into the scalloped heart perfectly.
There is a great tutorial on how to do this at
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/outoftheboxwithnestabilities/
Adhere the two hearts and place just inside the cutout on the card.
An action wobble was included with the stamp set, so that the little birds
head wobbles when you move the card.  (NOTE) The action wobble needs
to be trimmed way down to fit onto the back of the birds head.
Lacey border trim is Martha Stewart
Ticket on front is from the same paper pack.
Ribbon is from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day. Until later............

BSS MONDAY IDEA - HIDDEN TAG CARD

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

This week's idea is a hidden tag card.
My friend Cathy in Arizona sent me a card and I liked it so
much that I am going to show you how to make it today.
Thanks so much girlfriend!

Baskets of Hearts Stamp - Love it!

Front of the card.  Click on card to enlarge to see embossing.

Hidden tag.

Front of insert inside card.

Insert fully opened.

Card Recipe

Base card is bright red card stock cut to 5 x7 inches
Mat  front is cut at 4 3/4 x 6 3/4.  You will need two pieces
of paper.  I used one piece of the red card stock same as the base card
and one piece of gingham designer paper.
Ran the red card stock piece through the embossing folder.
Scored the right top corner for the fold down.
Adhere the two pieces together along the edge only.
Leave the fold down portion unglued  forming a pocket for the tag.
Decorate the front to your liking.
Adhere the entire mat you just made to the card front.
I cut a corner from a square lace doily for the fold over and attached a
heart brad and glued the fold down to the front.

Stamps - Baskets of hearts - Northwoods(08946)
Tag Sentiment- Hero Art- Love to you(G3264)
Inside scroll - Hero Arts-Fabulous Flourish (S5449)
Inside Sentiment - Serendipity Stamps (D155)
Inside punch - Martha Stewart
White embossing powder
Colored with Copics
Red heart brad
Tag for the pocket
White grossgrain ribbon

By attaching the ribbon bow to the tag, it is completely hidden and the
bow looks like an embellishment on the card.

This card works for any occasion, and a gift card or money can also
be slipped into the pocket.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.  Until later.........

SPECIAL DELIVERY

Hello friends, hope your enjoying the start to the weekend.

On December 7th, my great-niece blessed our family with the delivery of twin girls.
They were born early and teeny tiny and are in the neo-natal unit of the hospital, but are healthy and
thriving.  They weighed in at under three pounds and the girls are now 3 pounds and
 4 pounds.

Of course, I made a card for when they were born, but I wanted to
make a card for when they are finally both home with their parents and
big brother, who by the way will be two in February.  So here it is.

The storks and footprints are both by Magnolia Rubber Stamps!
How cute are they? (If only it was this easy, right?)
Dotted card stock is DCWV and Circle dies are Spellbinders (Grand dies)
Colored with Copics.

The lettering is a Cuddlebug emboss and cut folder of the Alphabet.

The hearts are Spelllbinder's dies.

A closup of these sweet storks, making their very special delivery.

Flower cluster and leaves die by Cherry Lynn Designs

We can't wait until these babies can come home.

Challenges I want to enter this card into:

7Kids College Fund - #90 - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by today.
Have a great day and wonderful weekend.  Until later.............

Cabin by the River

Hello friends, if you are in the deep freeze like a lot of us in the US are, hope you are keeping warm and have power.

I made this card for the challenge at Craft a Scene, the January theme is "Make your Own Theme".

I am also entering this card into these challenges:
Addicted to Stamps and More - #77 Make Your Mark - I used Tombow Markers and also sponged color on with dye ink pads.
Crafting for All Seasons - #68 All Things Bright and Beautiful
Creative Moments - #33 Anything Goes

My theme was to depict how a cabin by the river looks in the winter when it is all closed up.
It's a gray day and snowing.  A single duck has managed to find an opening in the ice covered river.  Snow is just beginning to blanket the ground and rocks.  The trees and grass take on a frosty look when the temperatures dip.

Close ups

Cabin and duck

Ducks flying by, trees frosty with snow and ice.

River, partially ice covered.

The trees, just starting to get snow covered.

All stamps are from Stampscapes.

We have had really cold temperatures the past two days, School was cancelled
for two days because of the dangerous cold and wind chills.  Thruway and major
highways also closed.  The Casino was closed!!!!  Tomorrow the temps are going to start to climb and by the weekend it is going to be 54 degrees.  The weather is crazy!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.  Until later............

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

A new card, idea, or technique every Monday.

Today's idea is a Valentines Day Card.

Are you still trying to get all your Christmas decorations and stuff put away, me too.

But, before you know it, it will be time for giving pretty Valentines to those you love.
Here is a simple, but pretty card you can make up in a jiffy and it will go in the mail for standard rate.

A fun sentiment.

A row of pretty hearts.

A pretty Valentine for either a guy or a girl!
Love the black red and white color combo.

Front of the inside liner.

Inside Sentiment.

Card Recipe

Stamps - All sentiments - My Favorite Things - Homespun Hearts
Papers - Red, Black and White card stock.
Designer papers are all from the Bazzill Basics 6x6 Paper Pack Red Devil.
Dies - Spellbinder's Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Hearts (S4-137) and
Classic Hearts (S4-136) (I used the third smallest size in each) for the outside
times six) and the second largest size in each for the inside)
Punch - Martha Stewart Heart Border on the inside
Baker's twine in red and white
Stamped the little sentiment on red card stock, cut around it with
deckled edged scissors, punched a small hole in each end and ran
the baker's twine through.
Used pop dots to pop up the hearts on the front
Demask embossing folder by Darice.
Card is 5x7 base white, black mat is 43/4x63/4, and white embossed
mat is 41/2x61/2
