HOUSE MOUSE AND FRIENDS MONDAY CHALLENGE- #90

Welcome to the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #90

Before we get started, we wanted to thank everyone who took part in the Favorite Stamp challenge.  Seems it was more of a challenge than we anticipated, hard to chose just one!

Our teamie, the talented Lorraine has chosen the theme for this challenge,
she wants us to make a Multi-Fold card.

Are these babies just the cutest!!!!

I decided on a stair-step card.

I started with a sunny yellow textured card stock and made the base for the stair-step card.
I stamped the image on a Nestibilities die cut colored with Copics, distressed the edges with yellow ink.
I matted this with bright blue card stock and added pearls.

On the next stair, I cut another die from the same set only smaller and stamped and embossed the sentiment by Endless Creations (I LOVE THIS SAYING).  The two small hearts are a punch. On the two top stairs, I added a white border from Martha Stewart punches.  On the last step, I created a carrot garden to tie into the stamped image.  I distressed the edges of the kraft paper and "planted my carrots"

Our sponsor this week is Di's Digi Downloads.
They are generously offering three Digi's

Our Guest Design Team Member for February is Anne Ray.

Stop by the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge site to see some awesome sample inspiration for this Multi-fold challenge by the design team, you won't be disappointed!

We can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge.

I'm also entering this card at the Cupcake Challenge 131 - anything but a square

BSS MONDAY IDEA - SLEEVE CARD

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea

Good Monday morning.  This week we are going to make a Sleeve card.  You make and decorate the sleeve and slip a sentiment into the sleeve.

To make the sleeve:

One piece of card stock 5"x7"
One piece of card stock 6" x 71/2"

Score 1/2 " in on both 7 1/2 inch sides and one 6 inch side
Fold in on score lines.

On the top front of the 5x7 inch piece, adhere a 1 1/2 inch coordinating piece of designer paper.
Using a circle punch, punch a half circle opening in the center of the top.
Adhere strong adhesive to the three folded in sides of the back piece and attach the
front piece with the half circle cutout at the top, to the back piece.

To make your insert:

One piece of plain colored card stock cut at 4 3/4"x6 3/4".  Using a border punch, make a decorative edge on the bottom.  Adhere a piece of colored text weight coordinating paper with a sentiment stamped on it, so it does not show at the opening of the sleeve.

Decorate the sleeve and the insert so they match.

The bunny stamp (Inkadinkado) was inked with Versafine, Onyx and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The ovals were cut with Nestibilities dies.  I distressed the edge with distress inks, Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, and Vintage Photo.  The flowers are Prima with pearl centers from Kaiser.
I colored with Copic Markers.  For the insert, I stamped the image (Northwoods) on pink text weight paper and trimmed the edges with the same gingham as I used for the sleeve (Martha Stewart)  The white insert card stock was punched at the bottom with a Martha Stewart border punch.

Close up of cute bunny!

Hope you give this card a whirl.  It would work great for invites too.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Monday.  Until later..........

A close up of that precious face.

I made this card for the sketch challenge at Midnight Madness (MMSC92).  The papers are DCWV.  The border punch is Martha Stewart.  Colored with Copic Markers.  Ribbon is from my stash.  The beaded circle die is Spellbinders.

Hope you had a great weekend and had some time for creating.

KEELEY LOVES THE SNOW!

At least one member of the family likes this continuing snow!
You can hardly tell the front from the back in this shot!

She heard the kids next door playing outside, wanted to join them for a romp in the snow!
She's up to her knees in the snow that fell today (do dogs have knees?)

She finally gave me the time of day with this shot.  I had been calling her name so I could take a picture and she just kept ignoring me.....now it's like WHAT?
Maybe if we all had a fur coat like her, we would all love going out for a play in the snow and cold!!

Hugs, Sue and Keeley

YOU GOTTA KISS A LOT OF FROGS............

Well, it's finally Friday!  I had this card almost completed on Tuesday, but with working Tuesdays and Wednesdays, I was just too pooped to finish it by the time I got home and got dinner and dishes over with.
Not to mention brain dead from crunching numbers all day!!!

We are getting more snow today, around 6-10 inches expected before it finishes....UGH!

So the challenge over at Totally Tilda is "How does your garden grow" and it is a welcomed one!

I started this card with Bazzill dotted Swiss card stock in blue.  The background image is a digi from Make it Crafty.  Darling Tilda with frog.  I distressed the Spellbinders die cut edge that the garden scene is on,
with Distress inks.  I'm entering this card in the Magnolia Down Under Challenge, which is Distressing this week.  Flowers are from Michael's bridal department.  Frogs are punches.

Hope you have a great Friday, heading into the weekend.  Thanks for stopping by.
Until later..................

PRETTY PANSIES

Hello, happy Tuesday.  We had snow again Sunday and Monday, not a lot, but....are you just so tired of it.  I guess that is why I have been coloring flowers the past two days!

I have a big metal snowman that I put in the bay window after Christmas.  Well, I noticed that ever since I put him there, we have had nothing but cold and snow (it is January, and it is New York, but still), so today...out he went and back into the big box he gets stored in and down to the basement he went!  Maybe that will help and Spring will come along a little faster!!

This beautiful Pansie stamp is an OLD PSX Stamp.  They had a whole line of botanicals when I first started stamping a hundred years ago, and I have quite a few of them.  They go for quite a bit still on ebay when I see them.  I colored with Copic Markers and added some Crystal Stickles.

The background paper is K & Company.  The scalloped circle is Spellbinders.  I pierced around the scallops.  The sentiment is from Rubber Soul, I distressed the edges with Faded Lipstick distress ink.  The rhinestones on the corners are from Michale's Reflection Collection. The border punch on the top and bottom edge is a EK Success.  All on a 5x7 white card.

Have a great Tuesday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later..............

BSS MONDAY IDEA - WITH ONE STAMP

Good Monday Morning.  Time for another Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

Today, I made a card using just one stamp.  The flower is a stamp by Outlines.  I stamped the flower with Versamark three times randomly on a hot pink card and embossed with white embossing powder.  Then, I stamped it three times again on papers from the Annalee 6x6 paper stack by Prima, and also embossed with white embossing powder.  I cut them out, the last one I cut on the second set of lines on the petals to make the third layer smaller to fill in the flower.

I added a button center and a hot pink ribbon.  That's it.
A quick attractive card.

Hope you liked this idea of using one stamp in two different ways on a card.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great Monday.  Until later...........

FUZZY WUZZY MID=MONTH REMINDER

Finally Friday!

Welcome to the Mid-month reminder from The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge.

Just a reminder that you still have plenty of time to participate in The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge
This month the challenge is Birthday Wishes. And don't forget you must use an animal as the focal point of your card.

For my card today, I chose an image by Whipper Snapper called Andre Alligator.  I guess I went slippery and slimey this time!!!  The papers and the punched border are by Martha Stewart.  The sentiment is an oldie by goodie by a company that is now defunct.  I colored with Copic Markers. The image is stamped and cut out of a Nestibilities die cute and mat.  The yellow dots are from fiskars.

Her is a close up of Andre.  Hope you have time to join us.  The challenge runs through February 28th and their is a prize, so go to the site and check out the design team samples and get inspired!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Friday.  Until later..................

Pretty in Pink

Hi, happy Tuesday.  I'm off to work today and tomorrow, but I have posts scheduled for both days.

Today's card is for the Penny Black and Friends Saturday Challenge Week 138,  and this week the theme is

Pretty in Pink.

I've used a Cuttlebug embossing folder plus to frame this vintage Penny Black image.  How cute is that bunny holding the frog?  I added a butterfly die from Sizzix, for Stampin Up and the daisy die cut from Sizzix.  I ran them both through a Cuttlebug embossing folder, swiss dots and small hearts.  Added a pink bow and some Kaiser pearls.  Colored the image with Copics.  Added some Stickles to the flower and butterfly edges.

Have a great Tuesday.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until later..............

HOUSE MOUSE AND FRIENDS MONDAY CHALLENGE # 89

Welcome to the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge.
#89, chosen by our talented teammate, Lisa, the theme is:

Use your favorite house mouse, gruffie or happy hopper stamp.

Sounds easy peasy hunh?  Well choosing might be hard since they are all so cute!

I chose this adorable Gruffie.  I colored with Copics and cut him out.  The teapot is a shaped card design by the Cutting Cafe,  I cut it out, ran it through an embossing folder and popped my Gruffie stamped image onto the front. I also popped up the lid and the base of the tea pot.  The border doily I bought on line. The border on the lid of the teapot is Martha Stewart. The inside sentiment says, Pretend we're having tea for two and that I'm sitting there with you.

And, what good is a pot of tea with out a fine teacup to drink it from.  This template design is from  Waltzing Mouse Designs . I put a couple special tea bags in the cup and wrapped in clear wrap.  The card and the tea cup are a great little gift.  It was a little tricky to put together (this is my second attempt) , but the results are so nice.

And here is a picture of the pair, ready to go.

We want to extend a Big welcome and thank you to our February Guest Designer, Anne Ray To see Ann's entry for this challenge and all the other talented ladies on our team, and to get some inspiration so you can ink up those HM and Friends stamps and join in, check them out at the House Mouse and Friends blog site.  The challenge runs through Sunday, February 27th.

The prize this challenge is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp and it's a $ 15 gift certificate to shop at their online store. (They carry a big variety of  House Mouse Stamps too)

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great Monday.  Until later...........

BSS MONDAY IDEA - QUILT IT

Good Monday Morning and welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

Happy Valentine's Day

Today's idea is to make a quilt background.  There is a great tutorial at
by Jenna Barber.  She does an excellent job in showing you exactly how to put this quilted background together.

I used papers from Basic Gray.  The pink paper was run through a Cuttlebug folder for texture.  Picking the papers is half the fun.  The hearts in the center of the quilt and the scroll on the embossed background paper are both stamps by Hero Arts.  I made this card into and easel card and the inside hearts are a the nested scalloped hearts by Spellbinders.  The sentiment is also Hero.  Pearls and a bow finished this card off.
One note, I embossed the cream background, but left the end unembossed so I could stamp the scroll along the edge.  Just something different for interest.

Also, instead of using graph paper to set up the quilt, I used a 5x5 piece of white card stock, cut all my pieces into 1 inch squares and adhered them to the square starting at the bottom left corner and working my way across one row at a time.  When I completed the square, I trimmed each side ever so slightly just to even up the edges.

Hope you have a chance to try this quilting background.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Until later.........

Well ladies, is there anything sexier than a cowboy?  This is a digi from Victoria Case.  I went to buy another digi I saw on a blog I happened on and saw this guy and had to have him!  Papers are from my stash.  Brads are by Making Memories.  Distressed the edges of the papers.  Oval is a Nestabilities Die, one of my new Grands.  Used twine on the button holes.

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Hi, happy Friday.  The weekend is only hours away!
Finally going to warm up around here this coming week, we have been in a deep freeze all week.
Today was the first day I didn't have scrape my car windows clean before I could leave the driveway.

Today's card is for the Penny Black and Friends Saturday Challenge.  This adorable littel hedgie is telling the whole world of his love.  I colored with Copics, and used Stickles on the paint and hearts.  The sparkly hearts are foam.  I cut the larger one and inserted a smaller one and glued them to the card and closed the gap where I cut it.  The papers are from a Valentines Stack from last year from K and Company.  Ribbon and pearls from my stash.

Gotta run, having my close friends from High School over for lunch today.  Haven't seen each other for a long time, so it will be a real gab fest!  And one gal has become a new Gramma since we last saw each other, so anxious to see pictures and here all about the baby.

BSS Monday Idea - Quarter Fold Flowers

Welcome to the Monday Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Idea

Good Monday Morning.  Hope your keeping warm and ready for another Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday idea.

Today's idea is this cute flower design.  I found this video by Bev Code and she made it look so easy, I decided to try it.  IT IS EASY!  The excellent video is at

After I made the basic flower, which takes about two minutes, I scrunched it so they stood up and added a pearl in the center and some Stickles on the edges.  Aren't they cute!

On this card, I used a stamp by Inky Antics and a sentiment by Stampabilities.  I colored with Copics.  The Spellbinders nestabilities die is Beaded Circles, I love this set!  The card base is an aqua green from the Linen Closet line by DCWV.  The designer papers are all Graphics 45, including the flowers.  The leaves are a punch. I ticket punched the corners of the rose paper and added a Kaiser pearl to each corner.  Glittered the white bow on the heart and on the sentiment heart.  The small 5/16 circles fit perfectly on the beaded circle, and is a punch that was developed to fit the circle stick pins by Tim Holtz.

Here is a close up of the bad kitty who ate all the chocolate..can't blame him can ya?

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you have a great day.  Until later............

Today's card is for the current challenges going on at the Crafter's Digital Art Center.  This digital image is by Nicecrane Designs.  the challenge is to make a birthday card that looks 100 years old.

I love this cute image of the little friends trying to reach the apples peaking over the wall.  And how the little gal is carrying a rock over to the pile so the older gal can reach.  I colored with Copics and used Distress ink, Vintage Photo to age the image.  Papers are Bazzill and Basic Gray.  Border punch is Martha Stewart.
