Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.
This week's idea came about when I stopped in the store and
purchased the Glowing Candles Die (98661) by Memory Box.
I took it out of the package and thought about how I was going to use it.
I started with a red glitter paper card.
Spellbinder's Floral Ovals die (S4-356)
I then cute the Glowing Candles die from white, red, and green card stock.
I glued the red over the white except the candles (just cut them away.)
Then glued the green over the red except the berries and the candles.
So what you are left with is white candles, green holly leaves and red berries.
I then cut a small piece of Gold Pom glitter paper, placed it under the white candles
and cut around the candles and glued the gold into place. Colored the flames with markers. Before gluing it to the white oval, I chalked light blue chalk across the center of the oval and highlighted the background with the same blue chalk. I added a thin coat of Deco Art Glamour Dust over the holly leaves, but you could use fine glitter also.
Then I was thinking how else could I do this pretty die, then it dawned on me that
it didn't have to be just for Christmas...............
Started with a bronze glitter card.
The white die is from the Elegant Labels 4 by Spellbinders (S6005).
I cut the Glowing Candles die from a piece of bronze metallic paper
and used star dust Stickles on the candle drips.
The leaves were cut with the Impression Obsession leaves die (030-S)
from green, orange, and yellow card stock. I then inked the edges with
different colors of dye and distress inks and added some gold Stickles.
And how about for Summer or Spring............
I started with a blue glitter card stock card.
The oval is Spellbinder's Labels Ten (S5-022)
I ran the oval through the Swiss Dot embossing folder by
Cuttlebug.
I cut the die and the candles with Hot Pink Card stock.
Used Glossy Accents on the candle drips.
I covered the holly with daises I made from the Tim Holtz Alterations
Decorative strip by Sizzix Tattered Flower Garden (657824).
I sponged the flowers with light blue dye ink lightly then put
them together with a yellow punched dot in the center. There are three
different sizes, which is perfect to cover the holly. The Butterfly
is a Martha Stewart punch, also sponged with light blue dye ink..
Pink Pearls finished it off.
I had a lot of different ideas for this die, but ran out of time. I hope you
see how very versatile it is and it was fun putting the different looks together.
Would make a beautiful wedding card!
Thanks for stopping by today. Until later.............
