BSS MONDAY IDEA - Christmas in July in Gold

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

Didn't want July to end without a Christmas in July card!  I personally like making Christmas cards year round, so this wasn't a stretch for me.

Today's idea uses Ranger's Ultra Thick Embossing Powder.
It's an old technique, but one I had not done in a long time and
I thought it would make a nice Christmas card.

The pickup truck stamp is stamped into layers of heated Ultra Thick Embossing Powder.

The completed card.

Technique

Cut a panel of heavy card stock (I used white) that will accommodate the stamp you plan on using.
Using a Versamark clear ink pad, pounce the pad on the panel until it is completely covered.
Sprinkle Gold Ultra Thick Embossing Powder over the entire panel and heat with your heat gun.
I suggest you do this in a box because some of the powder is blown off.  Hold the gun a few inches
from the panel to start.  After all the embossing powder is melted, let cool.  Repeat with the Versamark and the embossing powder several more times, until you get a thick layer (I did mine 5 times)  On the last layer,
have your stamp ready at your side, heat the last layer until fully melted, then stamp your image in
the center.  Press the image into the hot EP and leave it sit for a minute.  Remove your stamp.  If  for any reason you are not satisfied with how it stamped, just use your heat gun to reheat the panel and stamp again.
Lastly, I used a stiff stipple brush and some black dye ink to fill in the details of the image, then
using a paper towel on one finger wiped the excess from the top.
Note:  You must use a RUBBER stamp for this technique.
Do NOT use a clear stamp, the heat will ruin it.

Don't have Ultra thick embossing powder, you can use regular embossing powder
, it will just require more layers.

What I used

Gold Glitter paper mat is 6 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches
