BSS IDEA - SPLIT COLOR CARD

WELCOME TO THE BUFFALO STAMPS AND STUFF  IDEA.

I was watching some youtube videos by Jennifer Mcguire (love her)
this week and stumbled across this split card.design.  So I thought
I would try it.

Here is a Link to her video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlLgp9xqosU

I used red and white cardstock
Red and white embossing powder
Sentiment Stamp -My Favorite Things - Encouraging Words (C5-77)
Flower Stamps - Penny Black - Delicate Florals (40-103
Red and white sequins
Two white 41/4 x 5 1/2 tent folded cards

I used the Misti so that The stamping was done in
exactly the same place on both the white and red pieces of card stock.

I loved how these turned out, and with the Misti, the process is
really easy.  Watch the video, then  make yourself a couple of
beautiful cards.

S0, I got to thinking, and tried the same principle, with
a die cut.

Royal Blue and White card stock (cut at 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 inches)
Royal Blue and White glitter paper
Thanks die - Memory Box - Script Thanks (98240)
Star die - Spellbinders Nestabilities
We are memory keepers embossing folder
2- 4 1/4x5 1/2 inch white cards

I Cut the thanks die out with white and blue card stock.
I used the Misti, just to measure where it needed to be on
each piece of card stock. ( In exactly the same place)
Adhere the die cut (thanks)  where you want it on your card
(here I placed it about three quarters down on the paper)
the white die cut on the blue
and the blue die cut on the white.
I then cut each piece in half through the middle of the word.
Then just adhere a blue panel and a white panel to
a white card front.
I ran the card stock through the emobossing folder
before cutting it.
Added the stars

Then I got to thinking.........

I centered the butterfly die onto the green and white card stock
and cut it out.  By cutting them both at the same time, you know
they are going to be in exactly the same place on the card stock.
Then cut out two butterflies, one on white card stock and
one on a colored card stock.
I cut the green and white panels (each 5 1/2 x 4 1/4) in half.
On the colored card stock you will need to adhere another piece
of the same color card stock behind it.  Now adhere the pieces
of card stock to your card one white and one colored.
.  Drop each butterfly into the opening
and mark where it needs to be cut lightly with a pencil.
Adhere to your card.  I ran the completed card front
through a Cuttlebug Dots Embossing Folder.
Made "flight" marks with gel pens.

Using the Misti with a stamp is the easiest, but the die cuts
work great using the method I used for the green and white card.

Love the look of this card, hope you do too.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day.  Until later........
