BSS IDEA - Pine Cone

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Idea.

Do you love it when the leaves turn beautiful colors of red, gold, and
orange, and the days get cooler?  Me too, but not so much when
they start to fall from the trees and the raking begins.  We have
two old Horse Chestnut trees in our front yard and the chestnuts are
enjoying a bumper crop this year.  Squirrels and young children are
enjoying this fact, me, not so much. I have raked and bagged ten
large clear garbage bags of the chestnuts, their prickly outer shells,
and their massive leaves.  AND, only about half the tree has shed it's
fall bounty.........ugh...

This week, I have a beautiful Pine Cone stamped image
for you.

Stamp - Penny Black - Cones and Berries (40-495)
Paper - Fawn Lawn - Plaid, white card stock.
Frame die is Spellbinders, Branching Out.  I have
had it for awhile so don't know if it is still available.
Using the Misti, Stamped image Using several
colors of brown, starting with the lightest and
using Tombow Brush Markers, added darker
tones on a second stamping where I wanted
them.  Then colored in the rest of the image.
I then inked the image with Versamark Watermark
ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.
This allows you to create the background without
worrying about getting ink on the image.
Background was sponged with light blue
die ink, leaving the center white to add brightness
to the image.
I added Crystal Stickles to the area along the ground
along the branches and pine cone.
White liquid pearls finished it off with lightly
falling snow.
Colored with Copics, card is 5x7 inches.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Have a great day.
Until later.......

Hi Sue, Some Horse Chestnuts can be eaten, but you have to be careful you have the ones that can.

Lovely card.

Hope you have a good start to the week. Sue

Absolutely gorgeous Sue, lovely stamping and colouring. Just perfect for this time of the year. Yes it's very hard work raking up leaves, but keeps you fit....maybe lol,Kate x

Beautiful card, Sue. Love the colors and the sparkle. I have no idea what horse chestnuts are but I'm glad I don't have to rake them. Do the kids eat them or throw them? As a kid my brothers and I probably would have thrown them at each other. Kids! Ha ha. [Bunny]

My goodness, Sue! Your beautiful image has come to snowy life! How gorgeously colored. I know that took a little time for sure. I especially like that you have that pretty white halo under the twigs to bring out the frostiness. It's lovely! I hear you about the leaves. Perhaps the advantage to living on acreage is that it is not so much a "must-do" because there are no neighbors so to speak. We put our excess oak leaves into areas to build up the soil - in fact, we used to use them as mulch until recently. The squirrels in our area would be so pleased to have your chestnuts because Hurricane Irma stripped the oak trees of all the baby acorns! It will be tough for them this winter. Back to your amazing creation - it truly is beautiful! We had an unexpected frost today! WOW! hugs, de
