BSS MONDAY IDEA-HEART POP OUT CARD

Welcome Friends, to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

This weeks idea is a POP OUT HEART. Since Valentines Day is this week, thought we could offer one more sweet Valentine Idea. But, you could use this for other occasions too.
I found this idea on Paper Craft Planet and there are instructions too.
The front of the card. This card is made with Authentique Paper from the Lovely collection.
Spellbinders Classic hearts die, and the Bingham Heart-Memory Box 98499.
Three white half pearls from Kaiser. The entire card is made from an 8 1/2x11 sheet of paper.

The inside of the card. I cute up the image from Northwoods, 08946.
All three baskets of hearts are on one stamp. Colored with Copics.
Matted with white then brown card stock. Inked the edges of the images with
Spun Sugar distress ink. The Memory Box LaRue Heart 98255 fit over the template
perfectly, so I glued it right over the top of the cut out. Top Border punch
is EK Success.
The beauty of this card, is that the paper is two sided and a lovely hot pink (same as border)
and it shows through the opening.
This card could not be easier, and don't you just love cards that move!
Hope you have a chance to make one for someone special.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful Monday.  Until later............

Busy Weekend

Hi friends.  We have had a busy weekend.  First it started snowing Friday Morning and didn't stop until we had about 13 inches on the ground.  It sure looked pretty if you didn't have to go out in it.

Our puppy loves the snow.  She sticks her nose down in it and runs through the highest drifts in the backyard like a deer.  Hard to get her in, she just wants to play in it.

Snow much fun!

My daughter Heidi and my Grandson Mike playing with her in the snow.
She is getting so big, 9 months old in two days!

Secondly, my hubby had an emergency apendectomy on Friday.  We spent the entire day in the emergency room, waiting for tests and scans.  We went in at 10am and surgery was at 6:15PM.
He has a VERY HIGH tolerance for pain.  He did not have any of the classic symptoms, vomiting and fever, just a slight pain in his side.  But, he had had apendisitis 33 years ago, but it went away and they decided not to operate.  Anyway, it's done, four small holes and he came home from the hospital around noon today.  And guess what.....he is at the Hockey Game tonight with my daughter and her family!!!!!!!!!  They got the tickets as soon as the walkout was over.  He was telling the doctor this morning that he was so disappointed that he couldn't go....and the doctor said, if you feel well enough to go you can!  I'm sure tomorrow he will be exhausted and will want to rest, but
do you believe this man!!!

Well, that's my weekend.  Wish I had pictures of me digging my car out when I came out of the
hospital on Friday night at around 9 pm.  It looked like a loaf of bread, you couldn't even see the car.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend.  Tomorrow is House Mouse Monday, and I have a fun card for you, and my local stamp store post also with a cute card idea.

Thanks for stopping by.  Looking forward to normalcy this week!!  Until later........

THE NEST

Hi friends.  Bright sunny cold day here today.  Might be getting some of the storm that is coming up the Atlantic coast, they are predicting snow for us.

My blogging friend Dora from the Netherlands sent me this drawing that she made of the baby birds in the nest.  I had admired it when she posted it and was totally in awe that she did the drawing.  Well, she used the drawing on a card without making a copy, so when I told her how much I liked it...ready for this.....she did the drawing over again!!!  I have had it for a few weeks, printed and waiting to be colored, and was kind of intimidated about coloring it.  Well, she posted it today on her blog and I was inspired to make a card with my copy.  Thank you Dora, you're a very talented young women, don't stop drawing, you are awesome at it!!!

Hi friends.  Hope everyone had a good Tuesday.  I had my card 90% done yesterday, then got side tracked and never finished it until tonight.

This card is made using an old Hampton Art Stamp.  I love her, and if I had to pick only a few of my many stamps to keep, she would be in that lot.  I've used her over the years for many occasions and I never tire of seeing her looking back at me from the shelf.

See what I mean, that face!!!

BSS MONDAY IDEA - Simple Banner Cards

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.
Have you been noticing all the cards with banners lately. I love the trend and
have seen so many beautiful ones.
Today's idea is a couple of simple Valentine banner cards.
Yikes, no stamping, except for the sentiments!
This simple card was made with a black card stock base, a hot pink dotted mat, and three banners cut from white card stock. I decided how many banners I wanted and how long I wanted them. Embossed each one with a different embossing folder, from left to right, Cuttlebug, Couture Creations (Venus Crest), Darice. I stacked them all together and cut the bottom all at the same time so they would all be alike. Adhered them to the designer paper mat. Ran a ribbon around the mat, tied a bow off-side, and secured the mat to the base card. Stamped the sentiment, Stampabilities (QR1053). Added a small punched heart to the center of the bow.

For the second banner card, I cut three strips of beautiful Authentique paper from the Lovely collection. Again, decide how long you want them to be. I used a punch, but you could cut
the hearts with a die also. I punched the heart at the bottom of each strip. Then on the remaining
part of the strip, cut across just leaving the top of the heart shape in place.
Glue the strips where you want them, add the hearts just underneath. Small crystal hearts (I love these things) are Prima, Say it with Crystals, Cream colored bow. The bottom of the card was
embossed using the stripes from the Tim Holtz , Alterations, 4th of July embossing set.
Lots of possibilities with this simple application. On the second card, you could use butterflies, flowers, perfect for Spring cards, or snowflakes would be fun too. Banners can be any size, or a combination of sizes on one card.
And you could run them from side to side instead of up and down!
Hope you have a chance to try a card soon using this fun banner technique!
Have a great  Monday. Thanks for stopping by. Until later.............

Poodle Pup

Hello friends, TGIF, one more day before the weekend!  Hope you are keeping warm if you are in the areas that are getting cold and snow.

I made this card for my sister for Valentines Day.  She lost her two year old standard poodle Vinny in November, very suddenly.  She believes the dog was poisoned.  The poor dog died a horrific death and it was so sad.  Her husband surprised her with a poodle pup for Christmas, just eight weeks old, so when I saw this Mo's image, I just had make a card for her.

Awwwww, right?

Card Recipe

White textured card stock base
Papers - Reflection 6x6 paper stack, Valentines
Paper lace doily, Hobby Lobby
Brown Grosgrain ribbon
Red Gingham bows on pup
Say it with Crystals, Prima hearts
Hero Art I love you stamp

Colored with Copics

I'm entering this card into the Challenge at Mo's Digital Challenge #170 Lace and Ribbon.
