BASKETS GALORE

Hello, long week! Rick is doing great after surgery. Our daughter picked him up and took him to our Grandson's soccer game and hockey game this morning. He was tired when they got home but was glad to have gotten out. I went to work this morning despite the fact that I still am battling a cold. I am hoping with a day of rest this cold will start to go away. Today's card is a stamp by Serendipity Stamps. Can you believe I got this stamp for $1.00 unmounted? They had a bunch of stamps for a dollar, and I ordered some. After I colored it up, I decided to pair it with the sunflower designer paper from a paper stack. Gotta make a card for my nephew's son's baptism tomorrow! (I know, what's your hurry!)

SPRING

Hi. Rick is doing well today. Pain meds knock him out, but rest is good. I came down with a cold though, so we were both out of it today. I'm glad I made up a couple of cards ahead of time or I wouldn't be posting much. Today's card is by Serendipity Stamps. I love Pussywillows. I stamped in dark brown on smooth white cardstock and just went over the stems with a dark brown marker and highlighted the pussywillows with a white gel pen. The cardstock is from a paper pack called The Chocolate Box by core'dinations. All of the sheets in the pack are a shade of brown on one side and varied colors on the other side. I made the card with a piece that was green on one side and a dark chocolate brown on the other. I then sanded the front of the card to let some of the green show through. It is a bit messy, and it didn't sand off easily like I though it would. I used a piece of the green side to mount the stamped image to. I distressed the edges by running the sissors along the edge. Thanks for stopping in for a look. Until later....

FRIENDS

Hi, it's late Monday night. Got Rick home today around 10 a.m. First we had to make some adjustments to a couple of shirts so he had something to wear. I cut a couple of knit shirts up the back and put velcro at the top so he could just put it on from the front. Then we had to rig the recliner, because that is where he has to continue to sleep for awhile so that he could work the lever. Of course the lever is on the right and so is the bad arm. Our brother-in-law Jim came over and we rigged a pvc pipe with a rope attached so he could work the recliner. We both slept for awhile this afternoon. I think I am coming down with a cold, and we both didn't sleep much the last two nights. Hopefully we can now just wait out the time it takes for him to heal. He is experiencing some pain, but is managing it with drugs. I made this card for the house mouse challenge. The chip board frame is by Tattered Angels, The creme collection. The little chicks were cut from a punch by fiskars. The doily lace border is Martha Stewart. And the ribbon is by May Arts. The word friend was cut on my new Circut, a walk in my garden cartridge. Have a great Wednesday. Until later..............

Sachet Packets

The surgery is over and the doctor is satisfied that the repair went well. It's a long recovery, and he is in a lot of pain. Rick is overnighting at the hospital for pain managment. If he can manage the pain with pills, he can come home tomorrow. His arm is immobilized from the shoulder to the elbow against his body and then at the wrist on a band around his belly. They did get him up and sit him in a chair late today, and he did eat a little something, but mostly slept. He is counting on being able to come home tomorrow!!!

These darling little sachet packets were made from a stamp set! My stampin friend Cathy in Arizona sent the set to me. It has a stamp for the envelope, four stamps for the pictures on the envelopes, and four label stamps, bubble bath, seeds, bath salts, and sachet. Didn't they turn out cute, and what a nice little item to slip into a card. Thank you Cathy, I love them and they turned out so cute. Going to shower and go to bed now, long day. Until later.......

THINKING OF YOU

A look at the inside!
Hi. I scheduled this post ahead of time, because we are at the hospital most of the day today for Rick's surgery. I will post a small post later today, just to update everyone and show you some sweet little packets that I stamped with a set that my friend Cathy sent from Arizona. Today's card is for the challenge on Splitcoast Stampers, where they give you a person's gallery and you use one of their cards and make a card similar, but do your own take on it. The Stamp
is by Inkadinkadoo, the papers are by Colorbox. I used the nestibilities and the tag is a die cut by Sizzix. Will be back later with news. Until then..........

HUMMINGBIRD

Hello. It's Sunday and cold again. I guess the East Coast is in for some snow. It's cold here, but I don't think we are going to get any big snowstorm. So, on that note, I felt like stamping up something summery. I bought this stamp at Michaels last week with my coupon and I just love how it stamped up. It's by Inkadinkadoo. The card and background papers are by My Minds Eye. I love how it turned out. I colored the flowers up as morning glories, because that's what they looked like to me, but I always thought that Hummingbirds were attracted to red flowers and we always keep a Fushia plant on our patio to attract them. They have gotten so brave the last few years, we can be sitting out there and the blog dog too and they come right up and flutter away in the plant. I love seeing them, although haven't ever gotten a picture. Have a great rest of the day. Shoulder surgery tomorrow for Rick. Will be glad when it is over. He will have to remain in the hospital for one night (hopefully) for pain management we are told. We are looking forward to the healing to begin, it has been a long road to get to the surgery. Thanks for all your well wishes, will keep you posted. Thanks for stopping by. Until later.........

Cherry Pickin'

Hi, thanks for stopping in on this Saturday. The sun is shinning and it is cold, cold, cold! We got up early this morning to go watch our grandson (age 81/2) play soccer. He played well, but the other team was just really good and won the match. It's good for him, as he has alot of energy and soccer sure does keep him moving. We went out for a fish fry last night and he asked me to come today. Papa goes every Saturday and watches him, but he wanted me to come see him.
Today's card is an adorable stamp by Penney Black for the Saturday challenge. The cherry stamp is by Stampin Up and is part of the tart and tangy set. Going to take a ride to my local stamp store this afternoon. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday. Until later..........
