BSS Monday Challenge-Side Step Card

Good Morning. Monday is the day I post a challenge for my local stamp store, Buffalo Stamps and Stuff. Today's challenge is to make a Side Step Card. There are a lot of tutorials on the internet, and here is one of them. It's a video tutorial, so you get to see how easy it goes together. (thanks to Mary who made this video) The card folds flat for mailing.

Stamp credits are:

Bunny with carrot -Inky Antics

Basket of eggs - Great Impressions

Little Chicks - Darcies

Word sentiment - Printworks

I glittered the eggs in the basket and the little chicks. I used fun flock on the bunny's tail.

I made my card a little bigger than the tutorial

I cut the cardstock 5 1/2 by 11

I cut the slit starting at 1 inch in from the left to 8 inches from the left ( a 7 inch slit)

The slit is 2 1/2 inches from the top of the card

I scored below the slit at 1 inch, 2 inch, 3 1/2 inch, 5 inch, and 8 inch

The 5 inch score goes from top to bottom NOT just below the slit.

Sounds complicated, but after you watch the video tutorial you'll see how easy it is

to fold this card and then get to the decorating.

Have a great Monday. Thanks for stopping by. Until later...............

Guitar Edwin

Hello, it's finally Friday! Our kids and all the school districts to our North and East had a snow day today. We didn't get much snow, but the wind is blowing and they are predicting more snow over the next couple of days. The schools don't want to get them there, then send them home in the middle of the school day because so many parents work and they can't leave them off if no one is home, so it poses quite a problem and they end up closing the schools more often than they used to. Of course, our kids were in seventh heaven!

Today's card is a Magnolia stamp featuring Edwin at the Guitar! I have had this stamp for awhile, but haven't ever used it. He just does not get the same attention as Tilda. The Papers are from the Green Stack from DCWV. The green stars area Sizzix die. The words were created on the Cricut.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Magnolia Down Under - Make an Easel Card

Just Magnolia - Birthday

Roses on Paper - Masculine card

Have a great rest of the day. Keep warm is your in a cold weather place today. Thanks for stopping by. Until tomorrow.............

Time for Cake-Happy Birthday

Hello, and Happy Thursday. We are getting some snow and wind tonight and a storm is predicted for the morning and into the weekend. Guess I'll just stay in and stamp! So looking forward to warmer weather and sun. Had a lot of catching up to do today. Working two days a week puts a dent in my stamping time and my commenting on my blog pal's creations.

Today's card is a joy fold card. The image is House Mouse Designs. The papers are from a Me and My Big Ideas stack. The border punch is Martha. Pearls by Kaiser. The sentiment stamp is from Darcies.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

House Mouse Designs requests that you make a multi-fold card

Charisma Cardz #8 requests a birthday card with a candle on it

Creative Inspirations (Stephanie Sent me) wants a Monotone card
Cute Card Thursday wants you to use ribbon on your card

Hope you had a great Thursday. Thanks for stopping by. Until tomorrow.....

Tulips

Hi, sorry for the late post, but worked late tonight.
I have some fabulous news to share...........I have been invited to be the "Guest Diva" at the
MIDNIGHT MADNESS SKETCH CHALLENGE for the month of March, and since March has five Tuesdays, I get an extra challenge!!! I could not be more excited about this coming Month. Priscilla and her wonderful team of gals could not be more welcoming and enthusiastic. So beginning with challenge #43 you will see my take on the challenge on the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge blog.
Today's card is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC42). I loved this sketch. The monthly sponsor for February is Cornish Heritage Farms. I love their stamps and have a lot of them. This image of the little girl with the tulips is theirs. I stamped her in versafine blue ink and only lightly colored the tulips. I was going for the feel of a tile by leaving it plain. The papers are from my stash and the flowers are silk flowers I pulled off the stems. I used some yellow ribbon and tied the buttons on it after threading them with silver thread.
Hope you get a chance to visit the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, and give this sketch a go.
And there is a nice welcome for me on there too.
Have a great Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by. Until tomorrow............

BSS-Monday Challenge-Round Easel Card

Good Monday morning and welcome in to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Challenge. Today's challenge is to make a round easel card. It is the same principal as a square easel card.

2. After you have your circles cut out,(see #1 below) you fold the front of the card from the bottom to the fold at the top in half as shown. Put adhesive on the flap and place the extra circle which will become the front of your card on top of the flap, lining up the circle with the bottom one. Decorate the card as you wish and remember, you have to have something on the inside that is raised, I cut out the kite on the inside and raised it up to hold the card open.

1. You will need to cut a circle from a folded piece of cardstock. I used a five inch circle which I traced onto my cardstock making sure to leave an uncut space on the fold to form the card. You will also need a second circle of the same size. You can cut these with your nestabilities or sizzix if you have them. If you trace the circles, cut around the edge with decorative scissors so you don't have to be perfect with the cutting.

This is a pretty easy card to put together and something a little different. You can make any number of shapes, using your nestibilities or cricut or sizzix to cut out shapes.

The stamped image on my card is by Flower Soft. Flowers are by prima. I distressed the edges of the main image and used distress ink.

Hope you have time to try this, makes something a little different.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great Monday. Until tomorrow........................

That's My Boy

Hope you're enjoying your Sunday and it's relaxing. Spent most of the day in the stamp room trying to catch up on stuff.
I'm entering today's card in the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge. The theme this week is
Mother, anything for a Mom, birthday, Mother's Day, new Mother, etc.
This adorable digi image is from Little Musings, and it was free! His name is Sebastian. I fell completely in love when I saw him and just had to download him and I was coloring him up at 2 am this morning. The papers I used are from K&Company called Kazoo Kids, and the word sentiment was from that stack also.
Enjoy the rest of your day. Thanks for stopping by. Until tomorrow..............

For My Honey

Hello. Started our Saturday out with no ice in the ice pan this morning. So, we pulled the refrigerator out and Rick worked on it for awhile and decided the best thing to do was get a whole new unit, so we called and it is being shipped. In the meantime, no ice because when we got the ice maker, we threw out all the ice cube trays!!! And, when we bought the fridge, we got the ice maker as an add on and installed it ourselves and it was $ 50. Now, the replacement, that we ordered today came to $ 170.00........is that crazy or what!!

Today's card is for two challenges, The Penny Black Challenge, they asked that you use the colors pink, green and yellow. And the Charisma Cardz Challenge, which was a sketch challenge.

I really love this sketch and will certainly use it again. These colors work so well together and with all this snow and cold here, are just so Springy feeling. Isn't she just darling? She is a vintage Penny Black, and I just got her. The bees are from a border from K&Company. I colored her with Copics.

Hope you had a great Saturday. Thanks so much for stopping by. Until later..............

My Friend

Hi, it's finally Friday! Have you been watching the Olympics? Can't get enough of it in our house!
Today's card is for the Challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil Too (#19). The challenge this week was to make a card using only a white or cream card with a Mo's image colored and a ribbon. That's it, no layers of designer paper or embellishments. Had to slap my hand several time from reaching for something to add! This image is Flossie and her mouse, so cute! Such a naked card, needs something....ha ha.
Thanks for stopping by. Until tomorrow................

Music Lessons

Hello, it's Thursday already! Kids are out of school this week here, so I got to "sleep in" until 7 a.m. when the dog barked to go out!! Weather here got cold and snowy again, can Spring come too soon to those of us in cold weather places?

Today's card is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC41). This was a fun sketch to work with. I used stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms, both the main image and the music background. The girl sitting at the piano, reminds me of when our daughter took piano lessons and those dreaded practice sessions and then the recital. The card is made from paper from the At Home stack from DCWV. The glittered swirls are by Making Memories. Pearl accents are Kaiser. Cornish Heritage Farms is the February sponsor and is offering some great "stuff" as a prize to the lucky winner. www.priscillastyles.blogspot.com

Hope you have a great rest of the day. Thanks so much for stopping by. Until tomorrow....

Magical

Hello, I am off to work today and tomorrow. Today's card is for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge. This week's challenge was to use buttons, ribbons and flowers on your card. I have used Tilda with candle from the Christmas collection and the horse, which was a gift from my friend Stephanie (thanks Stephanie, I love him). I had to do some strategic cutting to make it look like she was riding the horse, but I think it works.
The papers are by DCWV, Linen Closet, I love every sheet in the stack!! Flowers are Prima with tiny button centers with star dust stickles. The scalloped shape is from my cricut. The lace is left over from a bridal project for one of my nieces.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a great Tuesday. Until tomorrow.............

BSS-Monday Challenge-FRAME IT

Hi, it's Monday. Time for another Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Challenge.

When you are cutting out nestabilities dies, do you throw out the blank?

Well, today we are going to use those as frames for our stamped images.

I stamped the image on a piece of white cardstock about 1/2 inch larger on all sides than the nestie I'm going to use.

I also cut a piece of cardstock that I'm going to use as the frame, the same size. Center the nestie on the cardstock you want to use as the frame and cut it out. Color up your image and center it in the frame you created. I popped up my frame over the bunny image with pop dots.
Don't throw away those blanks, use them for attractive frames for your stamped images!!!

The bunny stamp is by Magenta. The papers are My Minds Eye, Home. Flowers are Prima. The corners are a Sizzlets die. Pearl centers on the flowers are Kaiser.

Give this a try. They make attractive frames and you still have the mat to use for another card.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day. Until tomorrow....................

Hello and happy Saturday! Went out for awhile today to get my Valentine something and visit the craft stores with my coupons. Lots of new stuff hitting the shelves. Beautiful new papers by my minds eye and K&Company. Bought so many new stacks (just what I needed). I saw a new cricut cartridge I loved, and the woman told me it's going on sale tomorrow for two days.

Today's card is for the Challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil Too. (www.mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com) The challenge was to use Pink, White and Red and a heart or something 3-D. I just downloaded this image this week. How cute is this little hedgehog?? Poor thing has a case of mistaken identity! The papers are by DCWV Madly in Love stack. I forgot to take a picture of the beautiful saying inside.

ALL "TIED" UP

Hi, it's finally Friday! Poor Michael (my grandson) woke with a bad headache today and so had to stay home from school. He's resting on my couch and feeling somewhat better. He had to miss his Valentines Party at school. I said to him, now you won't know which girls wanted you to be their true love........he said, OH NANA!!, but he said it with a big smile on his face!
Today's card is for the Penny Black Challenge. The challenge this week was to use pearls and pins. And the Charisma Cardz Challenge,(http://www.charismacardz.blogspot.com/, which this week is Male. Is this big tom cat cute or what!!! I ran the entire card through a cuddlebug embossing folder. The red heart is pre-cut pearly red paper. I colored with copics.
Hope your enjoying your day. Thanks for stopping by

THE OPEN GATE

These wonderful butterflies are borders by K&Company...beautiful!, the bees on the card are
from the same package of borders.........cute!!
This is a Thomas Kinkade stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms, The Open Gate. I stamped
on glossy cardstock with momento black ink and colored with Tombow markers.

Hi. Did you think I had disappeared? Working two days a week and I am TIRED when I get home. My brain is dead and all I want to do after dinner and dishes, around 8:30, is shower and sleep. I must be getting old.....yikes!
Today's card is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC40)(http://www.priscillastyles.blogspot.com/) Hard to believe they are at challenge 40 already, and I imagine it feels even more unbelievable to Priscilla and her design team. I used papers from My Minds Eye (HOME-glitter stack pink). Under the butterflies is a cut up lace doily. Flowers are from the Bridal Dept at Michaels. I popped up those butterflies over the lace. Added Kaiser pearls to finish. These Thomas Kinkade images are spectacular, each one more beautiful than the next.
Have a great day. Thanks for stopping by. Until tomorrow........
